You know sometimes you start “chapter 1” and BAM it hits you. You get it, feel it, want more of it! This is going to be a phenomenal book! I set up my average reading time and my Kindle says I can finish it in 4 hours Here goes!
I can only say it was one of the most epic reads. WOW The entire premise was great, unique and enough to make me read on until I was done. I don’t like doing that when an author works so hard for so long, but sometimes you need it now.
The Katy saga is such a deep and emotional story. I know it had to be told, and it was told with such exquisiteness. *If that is not a word I made it one!
I loved her, her BFF Rolland “Rollo” and new friend Piper. Katy has had a rich and privileged upbringing. She is not at all spoiled. She has a few traumatic events. She finds her way through therapy back to a decent place. Rollo says “I miss the old Katy”
Katy replies “I know I promise she is still inside me somewhere, and I’m going to try really hard to find her”
Katy says powerful things and is not able to show the strong and powerful new improved Katy. When she meets Jared he is probably equally broken. One of my fave quotes “One day, I just want you to look at me with love in your eyes, despite my past, I want you to know every dirty little secret about me, and love me anyway”
Jared, his parents Dan and Patsy raise his sister Karlie who is a ballet dancer. He has a best friend Holden who is so hilarious when he fights with Karlie.
The bond they share is amazing. The healing they share is even better. I hope that you read it and enjoy the journey that I did. When you read something that leaves you touched you must share it. This was so touching and so real in more ways than the plot. I enjoyed the tough parts as well as the tender parts. The author in my opinion is brilliant and I must share her with everyone. So get ready I will brag about her and shove the book at you until you read it, that is enough to fall in love with Micalea Smeltzer!
