Changing the Game (Play by Play #2) by Jaci Burton

Changing the Game (Play by Play, #2)

Well the cover was the first love. I thought this one was great! I love the Riley family even more after book 2. What I LOVED was Elizabeth. After the first book in this series I was wondering how the Fabulous Jaci Burton was working her into my good graces. Yeah me first not Mick and Tara. If I hated her for the things she said to Tara in book 1 then why read on? right? So I think by the ending of the 5th chapter I was on the redemption road traveling fast.

Things with Gavin and Elizabeth happened and she was such a control freak that it took a while to get why she was that way. Just when they were doing fine of course Mick throws his hat in the ring and starts the fighting back and forth. I tried to read a little slow and did make a few hi-lites that were suitable for print. The others I reserve for my personal use!!

This one had a few ups and downs and was far more emotional with the leads. Both Gavin and Mick needed to work their issues out and better b y talk and not a brawl. When Tara confronted Elizabeth I was on the edge! What a diplomat she was. We heard from her in a shocking way. The Riley family was front and center doing what they do best when another giant pot hole appears at Gavin, Mick and Jenna’s door. The head of the clan Jimmy was funnier and who can not love a mom like Kathleen? She is so warm and caring towards Liz and Tara you want to hug her too. I think the best aspect of her personality is that she tells it like she sees it and if her boys are bad she calls them out.

I can say I loved the emotion and sense of family with this one. I think maybe we were a little more invested in them this time around. I can say that the next one stars Jenna. Big squeals of joy! Lastly the heat, I mean do I have to go on. I think Jaci fans around the globe are fans of her branding of heat. Big kudos for heat and hotness ooh lala

The Perfect Play, by Jaci Burton

The Perfect Play (A Play-by-Play Novel)
My first Jaci Burton book and it was a Goodreads recommended book. I think this was fluff and romance and a lot of erotica. Who am I to complain. Fans of hot contemporary romance will love this book for sure.
This starts out with Tara who is an event planner just two years into her own business. Her first huge celeb deal was for the SF Sabers bash. A chance meeting with the star QB Mick leads to a steamy scene right away. So yeah you are hooked. Tara gets confused when it comes to romance right away and through the book second guess herself and her feelings. She also admits she has a kid who in a few weeks will be 15. She never had a man to her house and the fact that Nathan is always her priority is another obstacle. I loved how strong she was and so determined to make it in business.

Mick Riley is THE famous quarterback to the SF Sabers. He is a ladies man, photo op man of the hour and HOT. Mick gets Tara right away and he also second guesses his feeling as the no committal type. He has a hard time shaking her and finds out where her office is and pays her a visit. Being he never ever has to ask for “it” the fact that she has focus on her career throws him too.

A great family, the Riley bunch. I liked Mick’s sister Janna and Gavin his younger brother who is a baseball star. I think these two over come a lot and his major secret was a shocking reveal. No spoilers. I will say again the best part of this book is the scorching scenes between Mick and Tara.
All in all I say 4.5 stars and off the charts heat

Viewer Discretion Advised

OK I don’t know who put this on my blog and I must find out & kiss some*** it was GREAT. I love it when I can read a book in a day, and hate it when I get so involved that I forget to make hi-lite and bookmarks. I did get a few quotes but it was so face paced that I was in my bubble and could not get out!Love one of the blurbs: VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED is a modern day “Sex and the City” meets “Broadcast News.” SO true.

This story is centered around Charlotte Thomas (Charley) who grew up on Long Island with Rori Sweeney her best friend. While Rori and Charley are young they once pretended to be reporter, the rest is history. Present day Rori is in Miami and a successful anchor/reporter, while Charley is in LA and was just fired for the first time in her life. Once Rori hears this she tells Charley that “The Velvet Ax” aka Johnathan Lefton is looking for a new station manager. So what does Charley do? gets on the red eye and meets Jonathan, accepts the job and starts the most stressful first week of her life. Leaving behind Oz her friend/lover/boyfriend in LA, she is sad, but Oz shows up for the weekend and rescues Rori who was arrested, gets a lot of hot sex and then is threatened by the crazy cop (Jimmy McManus).

I can say it was filled with bog swoon for Oz, lots of spice, bitches (Miranda) and tons of never heard before stories of the newsroom. I am not looking at my KTLA morning news the same again!!

A great “go buy it NOW” read
