Forever and a Day (Lucky Harbor #6) by Jill Shalvis

This is the 6th book in the Lucky Harbor series. Although a series you do not have to read them in sequence, but who wouldn’t want to read the series? This one starts with Dr. Josh Scott who was in the previous books as Matt’s friend. So we meet Grace again and she is a mess. Looking for work, doing all kinds of odd jobs and hoping to get back to the executive banking world. She needs to go out on her own jourmey and not let her super smart and successful adoptive parents image of what her life should be like affect her. Grace never thought she’d be starting her life over, but the turn of events got her in Lucky Harbor. She is running deliveries for the florist and taking temp jobs when Dr. Scott calls her for a job. He says he saw her flyer and wants her as a dog walker. The day his nanny fails to show up, for his son Toby so Grace goes from caring for Josh’s lovable pug named Tank to caring for his son Toby who is 5.
The heat between Grace and Josh was so strong! They go through so many issues with Anna, Josh’s sister who is paralyzed in both legs from an accident that took his parents life. I thought that Mrs Shalvis did a great job showing the stages of grief that Anna goes through to overcome the loss of her legs and forever being in a wheelchair. Anna gets into it with Grace and they come to love each because Grace tell her things like it is. She told her to go to college to play wheelchair soccer and that the wheelchair can’t stop her from acheiving greatness.
I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it
definite 5 out of 5

But it didn’t, and wow, those stumpy legs could really move. It snorted with sheer delight as it made its mad getaway, and Grace was forced to rethink the pig theory. Also, the sex mystery was solved. From behind, she’d caught a glimpse of dangly bits.

“You take the allergies,” he said. “I’ll get the other two.” “Three. You’ve got thirteen-year-old Ben Seaver in four. He stuck his ding-dong into the Jacuzzi vent.” “Christ,” Josh muttered. “Again?” “Here.” Dee handed him her coffee. “You probably need it more than I do.”

“I think you have a case of being a little girl. Maybe you should prescribe yourself a heavy dose of man-the-fuck-up.” Josh

Chocolate is better than sex. It can’t make you pregnant, and it’s always good.

The morning went so smoothly that Josh got an actual lunch break. He met Ty and Matt at the Love Shack, Lucky Harbor’s bar and grill. They’d beaten him there and were seated at a table hunched over Cosmo magazine. “It was on the table when I got here,” Matt said in his defense. Josh eyed the open magazine. “You don’t already know how to satisfy your boyfriends in bed?” Matt ignored this. “Did either of you know there’s ninety-nine ways to give a blow job? That’s ninety-nine nights of blow jobs.” “Look at you with the math skills,” Josh said. Matt flipped him off while Ty flipped the page. “‘How to Give Your Hoo-Ha a Spa Day.’ Huh,” he said. “I didn’t know a woman’s hoo-ha needed a spa day.”

Kicking Eternity [Kindle Edition for review] Ann Lee Miller
Flat-Out Love, By Jessica Park
Mystery Man, by Kristin Ashley
Something About You, by Julie James
Kicking Eternity, by Ann Lee Miller
Really good wholesome story. I really enjoyed the main character Raine. For the last summer before she heads to Africa to teach bible studies. She was so focused and all she spoke about was her life path. Her last summer in New Smyrna Beach is just supposed to be ordinary, no drama, maybe new friends, and surely no love. When she arrived at her summer job as a counselor she had set a goal of meeting at least 3 friends. Her roomie and cabin mate started off a little rough, but it worked itself out. She starts a close friendship with Cal, who is the beach guy, big tall handsome and available. Cal wants to paint her and is really thinking about her as a girlfriend, but that is not in his plans. He realizes that even he can’t make her change her mind about Africa. He is also really focused and doesn’t want to be like his parents.
Then there is Drew the camps Rec Director. Drew started teasing her from day 1 about being home schooled and her name. He always called her Rainey, she corrected him a million times.Drew calls her an enabler. Drew knows her from when she was a camper there a long time ago. Drew has an old girl he never got over. Everyone tells him that it has been too long and he needs to date. Then the past returns. Sam is a threat to Drew and his healing as well as to Raine.
If that is not enough her brother goes off the deep end and has major trouble. There are cops, weapons and drama. Raine saves all of her pay checks, plans, and still worries about her brother who has issues. Well not issues, he is into drugs and needs helps bad.
Will she figure out what to fight for and what to free before it’s too late?
For anyone who’s ever wrestled with her dreams.

“Cold. Wind’s kicking up.” “Kicking eternity,” Cal said. Aly nudged Cal with her foot. “What’s that supposed to mean?” “I’m reading Sacred Hoops written by Phil Jackson when he coached the Chicago Bulls. Jackson kicks against his parents’ take on eternity.”

And Cal again felt the caress of God. Childhood Bible verses broke loose like driftwood that had been caught in a logger jam. First, This is love; not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Then, But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And, God is love.
Jesus, fill me with Your ability to communicate love and forgiveness to Eddie. Give me wisdom in how to deal with him. Make this a turning point for him away from drugs. Please.
She stepped into his chest and his arms closed around her. The rain slapped against the tin roof, and she listened to the beat of his heart—racing, like he’d sprinted down the beach. She felt safe, safer than she’d ever felt in her life. She looked up and took his face in her hands. “You know that kiss, the one you apologized for?” “Yes.” His voice was definite, his eyes smiling. “I want more of those—”

Thank You, God, for giving me someone so much better than I could have chosen. And for giving me my dream.
Lacybourne Manor [Kindle Edition] Kristen Ashley
Reincarnation does not make for me sleeping. Loving the book but I am going to have a nightmare for sure
Done and loved Colin the best even though the reincarnations ha me scared. After I go to LoDo I wanna go to Laceybourne for sure. The characters were rich and very descriptive. I enjoyed the Beatrice and Royce characters and their history. They were in love and murdered having their throats slit. The murder happens before they are able to consummate their relationship. This starts a curse that comes back to haunt them when they are reincarnated in the present day.
Colin and Sybil are waiting for their soul mates. He’s a man of wealth and power, she is an American in England. Both are losing their faith in love. It took a while but Sibyl warmed up to him. There was a lot more paranormal in this book than the others.
Penmort Castle [Kindle Edition] Kristen Ashley
I really liked this one mostly cause I am a huge Kristen Ashley fan. Although ghosts and reincarnations scare the hell out of me I read it and really liked it. The culmination of 16 spirits was awesome too.
This book was so much better than I thought from the jacket blurb. You think it is going to be filled with all things paranormal or supernatural, but it really isn’t. It is a ghost story, or a haunted castle story, but this really isn’t prevalent until about 75% of the book. It is primarily the story of a relationship.
Abby needs money. She is a widow and has inherited an old home from her grandmother. The home is in poor repair, but she can’t part with it. Too many memories. Her friend Jenny, overhears a famous, rich man, discussing his need for someone to pose as his girlfriend for a period and thinks of Abby. The rest, so said, is history.
