The Unidentified Redhead, By Alice Clayton

The Unidentified Redhead (Redhead, #1)

OK I am done and moving to the next one. This was just what I need to read. I can not believe this is a first effort either. Think the humor was fantastic and Loved Holly too. The life that Grace had was steady and safe, her best friend Holly tells her to move back to Cali for the second time. Being a New Yorker who now lives in Cali I was happy at all the California references. She has her bff Holly intro her to an actor that she represents. Grace is 33 and Jack is 24 but they worked well. It was a fab story and so freakin funny too!

Breathing rather heavy now too! I am starting book 2 because I am sleep deprived and depressed. Holy Sweet Nuts! I absolutely LOVED this book!

“He pushed me back up against the door, slamming me against the doorbell. I heard it ring out.
“Coming!” I heard Holly say as she clicked across the floor to the front door.
“Not quite, but she’s close.” He chuckled, removing his hand and leaving me breathless and rosy cheeked.”

“We have to stop, this is insane. I literally cannot handle anymore. I think I’ve lost brain function. I can actually feel myself becoming stupid”
“Not possible. Let’s test it. What’s two times two?”
“Orange?”

“Twenty-four year olds were my new favourite thing. I needed to tell Oprah to put them on her list.”

“Grace, did you just sniff my shirt?” He asked, incredulous.
“Yep, I did. What of it? And after you leave, I’ll probably lay on your side for a while because the pillow smells like you. I’m ridiculous when I’m in love. We’re talking Hallmark over here.”

“I don’t know why you’re laughing, Miss Thing,” Nick said, turning his gaze to me. “You still fantasize over Joe McIntyre like you are thirteen years old!”
“Oh, I own my obsession. If Joey Joe were here right now, I’d break him. I have no shame.”

“I got shagged in Santa Barbara, and all I got was this fantastic orgasm.”

“And a fire in the fireplace? Wow, that’s impressive.” I continued, walking backwards into the room.
“Yeah, I saw it in a book about how to woo women… apparently you all like to be boinked in front of a roaring fire.”

The guy looks young enough to be your kid, Grace.
Yes, but only if I’d really slutted it up in junior high…”

“Wow, girls sure do weird stuff. Especially you American girls. So much shimmer and sparkle. Who told you tits were supposed to sparkle?”

“Fuck, he’s pretty.”

“He totally came up here to see you. Girl, you are on.”

The Redhead Revealed (Redhead #2) by Alice Clayton

No question about it this was in my top 10 I was TAKEN by this book, series and the author I love Alice Clayton. Her steam factor is off my charts!! DONE and there were tears I gotta let it sink in HOT for sure.
Took a while to sink in and gosh my book club book buddies are in for a treat. Who knew that Broadway, agents, actors and producers were so sordid?? Not me. Where ever is my personal Jack? I am going to go on a mission to find him.  Truth is I was away now going home and I know for sure home is California so I am with Grace, smelling my lemon trees, avocado and oranges too. There is a new home and I cant ever imagine leaving. I dont know if the age difference was even a fact for real it was soul mates. I too am in love with Jack

“And then I tasted nothing but his sweet lips, pressed firmly to mine, as I kissed him like it was my job.”

“He was everything I’d ever wanted, and everything I hadn’t even known I needed.”

“And then I tasted nothing but his sweet lips, pressed firmly to mine, as I kissed him like it was my job.”

“So if you think for a second I’m going to let you end this without giving me a legitimate reason, you are truly crazier than I thought. I’m in this thing with you, a willing participant, and you can’t decide for both of us. Not anymore.”

“He was everything I’d ever wanted, and everything I hadn’t even known I needed.”

“I assigned him to help me trim the Brussels sprouts, but instead he kept trying to throw them away when he thought I wasn’t looking.
“Brussels sprouts, Grace, really? These are our friends. Why are you doing this to them?”

As their careers catch fire, Grace and Jack — everyone’s favorite foul-mouthed, funny, and feisty couple — find themselves on opposite coasts. Grace has landed in New York City, where she loves being onstage again, particularly because she’s playing a fabulous character in a musical written by her old college flame, Michael. Their rekindled friendship makes exploring the city that much more fun.

Wait, it’s just friendship, right?

Meanwhile, in L.A., Jack can scarcely keep up with the swirling throngs of women who track him everywhere he goes, the endless press appearances, and the ridiculous rules his manager, Holly, keeps concocting for him — all part of the buildup to the release of Time, his steamy new film.

Thank goodness for phone sex.

But even when their schedules allow them to connect, Grace and Jack must keep their relationship off the radar and away from paparazzi cameras. Sure, the sex is sensational, but can this duo survive swirling rumors, the demands of their chosen professions, Grace’s raging internal battles, and a whopping nine-year age difference?

Tick-tock, the clock is ticking. Isn’t it?

Alice Clayton brings the second installment of a tale told with her magical mix of humor and heat, so cuddle up under the sheets and flip on the Golden Girls. Grace and Jack are at it again

The Marriage Pact by M.J. Pullen

Marci Thompson always dreamed about life would be like by her 30th birthday. She wanted to be have a career as an established writer and a summer book tour. A life full of adventure with her friends and family by her side. All Marci did for ten years was run from failed loves, failed jobs, and create an uncertain future. For a while the bright spot in her life, not to mention the only sex she’s had in two years, is an illicit affair with her married boss, Doug. She is finally offered the job she really wanted and the same day Doug breaks up with her saying his wife is pregnant. She runs back to Georgia with Jake her bff and former love.

It was a great read, just put together wrong. I think the history and back-story could have been added as a flashback instead of flipping back and forth. All in all she decides maybe Jake is the right one for her and they get engaged. In the end I was happy with the book and story, just not the order they appeared

Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols

Ok this was really deep! Leah was an old soul who just loved planes. She wanted to be a pilot and she had so many obstacles to overcome to get there. She had the overwhelming passion to fly and that was so strong at a very young age.  Mr. Hall becomes her mentor and sort of father figure for three years. This man, who was in his 50’s, had a an x wife and three sons. The story was woven really well and I have to say I was so sad reading her story about her moving around for so long. I can not give away plots, but on Kindle the writing in on the wall about 50% then you just sit there and go OH My all of the plans and motives come out. Why not be truthful and move on than to smile and lie and be unhappy?? I think that Leah and her bff Molly have learned from each other. Starting with how their friendship began and that they are extreme opposites really doesn’t cause dramsa, only makes it more real.

What appealed to me about Leah was her passion for the flying. Leah had that start at such a young age. As for Jake who is Hall’s oldest son, that is a spoiler. Grayson and Leah and their plans that include lies and deceit, are spun well. At one point I know there is regret on Alec’s part and Grayson because it seems Leah knew so much about their Dad and his motives. Mr. Hall had a lot to say in death and his voice and lessons carried on long after. Leah learned that you may come from a background but the path in life is what you make of it, nobody but you controls it.

“Most people hear an airplane in the sky and think, ‘There’s an airplane,’ and go back to what they were doing. A few folks look around for the airplane, try to figure out what kind of plane it is, and watch it from the time they spot it to the time it disappears on the horizon, maybe after that. Those kids are the ones who will be pilots.” He pointed at me. “I knew that about you. I’ve just been waiting for you to show up.”

“I had wanted something from him. Even expected a confrontation. To be ignored was a sentence without a period.”

“When I’m with you,” he began again, “it’s like… I still don’t feel normal. But I can see normal at twelve o’clock on the horizon.” He pointed past me, through the windshield of an imaginary airplane. “At least I know normal is still out there. I’ve spent the last three months not sure of that at all.”

“A girl needs to be held right now, and comforted, and told that everything is going to be okay. I’m sorry I can’t do that for you. I don’t have any of that left.” “I have a little and I’ll lend it to you.”

“Love isn’t something you have to deserve.”

“Grayson looked at me again. This time his gaze traveled form my hair down, and he let me see that he was looking. What he meant by this was that he thought I was beautiful, it was not just my miraculous hair, and we shouldn’t be distracted from our true love by the pesky detail that he was blackmailing me into dating his brother.
Right.”

“It’s easier to remember your lies if they’re close to the truth,”

“We wanted to enjoy the afterglow and we were trying our best to bond, but it was difficult with so many people between us, even though most of them were ghosts.”

“The TV said you should ignore bullies and they would stop harassing you. In practice this worked about half the time. The other half, you ended up with two tall boys shadowing you through a trailer park, their fingers taking little nips at your clothes, like dogs.”

“I squeezed the controls to brace myself so I wouldn’t shiver with the chill of wanting. Normal people got that feeling when they quit smoking cigarettes. I had gotten it then too.
Normal people did not get that feeling when faced with danger.”

“I guess’ will get you killed.”

“When something awful happens, sometimes people get stuck.”

“Sarcasm was a weapon for children.”
“Men always do that to women when they feel threatened. They tell everybody the woman must be giving out blow jobs because there’s no way she could be successful otherwise.”

“And” – his voice was soft now – “you’re a beautiful girl. If you show the slightest interest in Alec, he’ll want to go out with you. I know I would.”
My skin prickled with goose bumps, a chill in the hot April evening. My brain knew Grayson didn’t have the crush on me that I’d imagined when he got mad at me at the airport that afternoon. He wouldn’t have asked me to date his brother if he’d been interested in me. But my body didn’t know this, or didn’t care.”

“But when I was a little girl, my mom always told me to be nice to everybody, no matter what they looked like or how they treated me, because I never knew who might be an angel God had sent to Earth in disguise.”

“You’re not a whore. You’re a chick who hasn’t exactly grown up with every advantage, and you’ve learned to use what you’ve got. You don’t do it on purpose. It’s second nature. You act girly and helpless and make men think you’re harmless.”

“I remembered what Mr. Hall had told me when I first asked him for a lesson: the kids who watch planes are destined to be pilots.”

“He tilted his head to one side, considering me, his weathered face impossible to read. But his voice was kind as he said, “There are lots of mistakes you can make. Pilots make them, and pilots die. Obstacles will kill you. The weather will kill you. But, as I’m about to show you, the airplane is your friend. The plane wants to fly.”

“If I were stepping down from the bus at the rich end of town instead of the trailer park, I wouldn’t have to watch every word I said to make sure it wasn’t slang for an orgasm.”

“It was better that we never apologized to each other. Then we’d be admitting that we were wrong and we owed each other something. That’s where people got into trouble.”

“Some people have problems, when something awful happens, sometimes people get stuck.”

She certainly didn’t expect any help from the loud jerk next door, but then again she has nothing to lose so puts her trust in him and hopes for the best. So when he discovers much to his horror that he’s thinking about his frumpy little neighbor he decides the best way to get his head straight is by working her out of his system. He’ll keep her around, but only until he finds perfection (from cover)

Perfection (A Neighbor from Hell #2)“You missed breakfast,” Jason announced as Trevor stepped into the large busy kitchen filled with Bradfords and food.
“That’s fine. I’m not really hungry,” he said, barely aware or caring that all activity in the busy kitchen suddenly stopped as every Bradford in the room, even one year old Cole stopped trying to climb onto the counter to get at the large platter of cookies his mother made to stare at him in disbelief.”
