Bared to You by Sylvia Day

So many reasons to love this book. First of all the thought of therapy used and appreciated is phenomenal! It is usually not entered into so willingly so for that I applaud the author. I especially liked the way that Eva explained Dr Peterson and how his therapy and the set up was a “safe place”. She goes on to explain how this huge place is used to treat and to hang out. That therapy is not over after the session, it is constant support. Without giving a spoiler, it was indeed a safe place for Eva.

My next reason is the sub-characters. I did love Cary and their friendship. I really thought that Eva has just one person, Cary, to trust and confide. He had a similar issue to Eva’s and they both together embraced therapy and healing. I was deeply in love with Cary until his messed up freaky party. I will forgive him eventually.

The next is the complex families. We know Eva and her Mother are equally in need of therapy for the same sort of reasons. How she goes about trying to control her daughter is laughable. She has resources and when she does things like cell phone tracking she doesn’t hide her stalker tendencies. So yeah I loved her too. Step Dad was aces in my book too. Mr Stanton was just Eva’s only protector before Gideon. Eva never confided in her real father what she experienced, so I think she had a certain bond with her Step Dad. Eva’s real dad is a cop so maybe with the available weapons, she should keep her secret!

Before the big deal I will say I loved Scott, Gideon’s assistant and Mark Eva’s boss. Both of those characters added a light side to an otherwise dark story. There was a point when Scott tells Eva how he enjoyed seeing his boss smile and tells her he never saw him so happy. That was special to me. Mark was so happy to get Eva as an assistant and was not even a little reluctant to have a newbie assist him on his first big presentation. I liked how he showed a weakness right away by telling her that he would figure it out as they went along. Not too many bosses would admit they never had an assistant and show weakness the way he did. Mostly they would fake being a leader. He looked at her as though she was his equal. So big smooches Scott and Mark.

Now the deep dark, handsome, amazing, intelligent, and captivating Gideon Cross. Where do I begin? Well he is all that! When he finally opens up to Eva and makes a few big mistakes he tells her right away that he will not let her go. Just straight out and right to the point, he let her know that SHE was his weakness. I hope I am not alone in my perception of that one. But I loved the way that he made no secret about his wanting to posses her. It had little to do with wanting to top her too. He never felt like that with anyone and he never let anyone into his home, life, and business before. This book did not get into the depths of Gideon s past, but I bet it will be shocking. Also, loved him a little more cause he didn’t really hesitate and said he would go to see Dr. Peterson. Bravo Gideon you got extra credit. I hope I can show him how pleased I am (delusional me?? nah)

The ending had me anticipating the next book. I think there are 3 scheduled for this series. Now I must add Gideon to my book boyfriend list and wait for the next book.
