Taking Chances by Molly McAdams

Taking Chances

This was EPIC! Makes me so happy that I am who I am, a reader, a book enthusiast, and not a writer of anything but a posit it!There is so much I could say about the richness of the book, the characters, and their lives. The way that Bree and Harper were written was the most enjoyable part. Because of the grief and loss that surrounded Harper, she chose to come to California, here at SDSU she found her real friend and real family. I understood the “Sir” felt the way he did towards Harper. He was happy and when she was born her Mom dies during birth, so he was resentful. as Harper grew up she looked more and more like her Mom and that was his true love. He was a Sgt and he knew Military life nothing about raising a daughter. I don’t know many military men who wear their hearts on their sleeves. I was upset when  I saw people who criticized that part. He reacted exactly the way I expected a Marine in his position to react.  Brandon’s Mom and Bree’s Mom and Dad were so awesome. I think they were written in a way that you could imagine the perfect parents. If you think in your heart about perfect parents, what they would do and say, and love without conditions, then you’d find Mom (Claire) and Dad (Robert). Even the way Brandon’s Mom Carrie accepted Harper was unreal. I have 2 sons and I hope and pray that God gives me wisdom to be half as good and accepting as she was.

There was a lot of emotions and the subjects were tough, but it was soooo worth it!
