Book Review:

Jennifer Whitney was the last American virgin. NO she wasn’t but, she did feel like it. From college on she will go by “Jen” don’t say Jenny, she will correct it. I will give you a few reasons why I really liked this book. The first is Jen and her college days were fondly remembered by musical references. That was a part that I hope someone relates to. I also loved her and the room mates. They all contributed something to Jen’s experience. The other thing I found adorable and totally relating to college, was how different room mates can be, but even though they were different, they complimented each other.

The main story was centering around Jen and her quest. I know you can understand Jen’s dilemma, lost her innocence without being a skank. So there you have it. There are many bible references in the book. One I found so interesting was to find your psalm by using your birthday. I looked mine up and I am Isaiah 5:28 “Their arrows are sharp, all their bows are strung; their horses’ hooves seem like flint,  their chariot wheels like a whirlwind.” So Jen decides that she needs to lose her virginity to someone she likes, but not someone who she marries. She decided this and goes about making a plan and obviously choosing David. He is one of the three David’s Each is just as equally likeable (maybe if only for the author and her portraying him). So Big D; I could laugh at, but Jen was a trooper and followed through on her promise.

Overall it was cute, loaded with angst and hot! I loved the original David (David) not so much Big D and definitely not Dave. This is the only books that made me happy, sad, loved and wanting to scream. Jen had several losers and even though the book was telling of her hut, it was fumy.

The book has a few life lessons that I felt were useful. Read it NOW and be prepared to yell at Jen a lot just like I did. At times I sat there thinking “how dumb is she” but she pursued he goals with such zest, I could totally hang out with Jen.

About the Author

Writing wasn’t something Nicki set out to do; it just sort of happened when she realized writing reports was by far her favorite part of her investment consulting position. She traded stock allocation and diversification for story arcs and dialogue and now weaves her creative writing time in with the other activities of her busy life with her family in the Chicago suburbs.

Nicki writes with two goals in mind: #1 to keep the characters realistic, even when their circumstances are anything but, and #2 to make the reader feel. Her published works include Three Daves, a light-hearted romantic romp through a 1980s college campus, Divine Temptation, a romantic novel of angelic proportions, and short stories “Sway” (available as a single), “I Don’t Do Valentine’s Day” (part of A Valentine Anthology), and “Impressionism 101” (included in the debut issue of Insatiable: The Magazine of Paranormal Desire).
