I will go out on a limb and say this was the best in the series. Faith went in a totally different direction then I thought she would. WOW

Adam is at a crossroads. He has Katie on his mind and Jada in his bed. That is the understatement of the year! I was totally team Katie at the end of the last boo. I started this one and by page 5 I was stunned, open mouthed, just staring at the book. I really thought it was going to take a paranormal turn, but NO it took a psychotic turn! No way to describe this but a must read. If you have not read any of Faith’s books I suggest you read this series. I am thrilled there was really no huge wait time in between books too. Nothing I hate more than a great book with a cliff hanger and a year wait for the next to be released.
So getting to the characters, yes Katie is back. Thanks for that! I loved the way Katie, Jada and Adam had alternating chapters for their point of view. The way this was working out was just epic. It was woven so tight to make it a page turner. The anticipation was killing me. I loved how Brian, Adam’s brother was brought to the front burner. I got a glimpse of him and then the reasoning behind the way he is. The author also lightly touches on a drinking problem that is shared between Adam and Brian. When the first book started Adam is sort of on a journey in a downward spiral. He was a lifeguard and lost a swimmer. This takes an emotional toll on him and this also travels through book one and two. Now in book 3, he is slowly gaining ground on the road to being back to normal.

The complex Jada brings a new element to Adam. She actually trusts him, works well with him, and more important keeps him in check. I was shocked at the secrets Jada kept in order to keep Adam safe and being her partner. I loved her room mate and the dynamic of friendship between the two. She is pretty street smart and certainly doesn’t take any crap, so she was perfect to get him out of his slump.

Everything is wrapped up well by the end. The only problem is there is no mention of the continuation and I want more. I really want to see where Brian’s character goes. I wont give away the fiance and wedding issues if you have not read the series. That alone is a jaw dropper. I cant say enough good things about this. I am still Team Katie no matter what. She is precious, wise, and a lovable character.
As for the author, well I think she is overlooked. I loved her book Unexpected. It was a very (being a New Yorker I am allowed to say this with certainty) accurate portrayal of post traumatic stress and life after 9/11. This book had one of the BEST plot twists, the kind that you want to scream about but you cant. From the bottom of my book loving heart please read it.
