The book started with The Harlan Detective Agency, and the leader Jackie explaining her case. Her investigators Carl and Michael were funny at times even while being professional. It went on to alternate chapters in different point of views. There is the death of Nicholas Gladstone, worth billions, along with the attorney put in charge of the probate of his will.
Enter Austin, the lawyer who is involved in an online relationship with “Sissy 3211” aka Maggie. What I found so very interesting was the details in their conversation. Maggie was lonely and had no boyfriend. She has been talking to Austin aka “”Bronco” for a long time. She is so overly cautious about her details. He does try to trick her into giving him her real identity. She is way too smart. I absolutely loved this part.

Then there is Laura, Nicholas’ daughter and her womanizing husband Matthew Connelly. She is a drunk and he has never loved her, only her money. She really loved him and has crawled into the black abyss. It so happens her dad passes away and a week before he dies, discovers she had a child. So he leaves everything to his granddaughter. OMG

Then there is a maid Teresa who goes out of her way to be placed in the Connolly home. So the search for the grandchild that nobody knew even existed in kicked into high gear. The Connolly’s are suing the estate so unless Austin gets the name, the Connolly’s will get the estate. Austin was like a son to Mr Gladstone and there is nothing he wont do to get the daughter Laura doesn’t know existed. I was so pleased with the authors attention to details throughout the book.

It is a tale like no other! The way the characters are all brought together totally blew me away. It was the last 25% of the book that left me completely on a mission to finish the book NOW. There was no way I could go to sleep not knowing what happened. This rivals the best mystery writers of our generation. I have not read something so detailed and riveting in this genre.

The ending was totally exceeding my expectations.
