Only for You by Genna Rulon @Literati_Lit @GennaRulon #review

“In its purest form love is self-sacrificing, eternal, selfless, enduring, truthful, forgiving and indulgent. It also feels an awful lot like a kick to the stomach when you try to fight it!”

So Everleigh Carsen is the main character. She is a senior at Hensley University. She lives with her best friend who she grew up with. It is more of a sister type relationship. Everleigh’s Mom was the housekeeper for Samantha’s parents. So she was the type of mother that was down to earth that everyone loved.

Being they were so close and Sam was fortunate, Everleigh got to tag along and benefited by their friendship. That said she never made Ever feel like she was anything less than an equal. I loved how they both had love and respect for the other.

When there is an uneasy feeling all over campus because girls are being attacked and some sexually assaulted. With this there is tension and Sam takes this very seriously. She makes Everleigh go to a self defense class. The attacks are sporadic and some are worse than others. After a scary attack that hits too close to home the campus of Hensley step things up. They offer in conjunction with a local Jiu Jitsu business, free classes in self defense. Enter Hunter…..steam and sex oooze from his pores. He is an athletic beefcake and there is a great chemistry between the two. Obviously as the self defense instructor he takes this serious. In the first class he clashes with Ever and kicks her out of the class.

The next meeting is better, as they try and repair the damage done in the first class. What I loved was that they were friends. Everleigh liked him and he liked her but nothing happens. He treats her in a sisterly fashion for as long as he can.

There is dialogue between Sam and Everleigh that is so meaningful. Sometimes girls dont get a chance to have that one special friend and Sam was it. I want her for a best friend myself. Then there is the author’s ability to make you fall for Hunter. The running conversations and sarcastic rounds between him and Ever were priceless. Never before has an author made me feel like I was learning something. It was extremely witty and quick. They had these classic , smart, and somewhat hidden innuendos going on. I love Hunter’s character and he will appeal to everyone who reads this. Just the addition of his degree and the fact that he is on his dual matriculation makes the conversations even funnier. Ever being a senior is very intelligent and they are always trying to one up each other. When he explains where he attended before Hensley you will laugh. Not only is he hot, physically fit, a lethal weapon, but her has a master’s degree!

This book will have you at the edge of your seat! It was a twisted tale of the worst kind of attacker. The plot was put together very well. As the attacks became more frequent they become more violent. The author did a superb job of keeping the momentum going. Thinking about a university and this situation what are they supposed to do close classes? shut down the dorms? It makes it all the more real for you to get in touch with young girls who are there for an education not to live in fear.

I was guessing a few times about who was the attacker and why would they do it. When it is revealed. HOLY crap it is a good one! Then you see words like….”book 2″ and it makes you smile from ear to ear.
