Embracing Love by Delisa Lynn @wrnmk_ @Delisa Lynn #review

Just finished another great book. Embracing Love was everything I love in a book. The angst is up there. I loved the characters and most of all Lila. She started out sort of mild, quiet and caring. When she was with her best friend Addison they were like two peas in a pod. They were the best of friends. They had each others brothers as boyfriends. Lila was with someone who did her wrong. The entire time she was in love with Liam and they finally hook up. He is the one love of her life. The center of her world and she always gravitated towards him.
Addison was with Lila’s brother. Lila is with Ashton and he is a loser, thankfully she leaves him when she finds him cheating. This is the example of a teen boy only wanting one thing. Loved that Lila never gave in. She did however fall for Liam, Ashton’s cousin. It was a little confusing, but I accepted it pretty fast.
What annoyed me was how Addison and Lila knew the relationships each of them were in, but never talked about it. For example Addison was with Lila’s brother but they never actually had that conversation. They were best friends who didnt talk about the big elephant in the room.
Now when Lila moves to New York to attend law school and Liam goes into the service she meets Evan who is a year ahead and also studies law. Liam is in the service and Evan sort of takes over. He has strong feelings for Lila and she makes it clear that Liam is for her. THIS is where you want to scream. He wants her so bad he accepts this. He just takes whatever Lila will give to him. She has a relationship with him that is so different.
The entire book is a sordid affair. Who loves who and who cheats on who. In other words REAL LIFE. The way you know the author does a great job with character placement is when you put it down and need to grab a glass of wine to continue. I was so riled up at points I wanted to yell. It was dram, angst on level high and love.

Every so often you read something and it reminds you of another book. Well rarely do I compare by in this case…if you Love KA Linde and the Avoiding series then this book is for you. I think the author has so much promise and I can not wait to see what she has coming up next. I am already a fan!
