In the last year I have read all of AL Jackson’s books. This one was great! As a fan of the genre, the author, and the angst, of course I loved it. The main character Aleena has always had a thing for her brother’s best friend. So when Chris tells her that Jared is in town and he is going to crash at the apartment they shared, she is stunned. She has a pull to him. He has a pull towards her and so the games ensue!

The plot was just as good as the characters. I liked how close the characters were. Between Chris and Aleena there is a room mate policy that is laughable at times. She expects him to be a slut and turns her back to the parade of woman he has entering their shared apartment.

holy shit hahah

Jared Holt was just juicy, as was Chris. I would take either or both anytime! The reason this book was set apart for me was the main issue of secrecy. There are secrets all over it is a sort of multi-generational secret going on too. The Jared and Chris past was WOW reveal

Jared is sort of his own worst enemy. He doubts himself, doesn’t have any trust in what his feelings tell him to do. He really thinks he doesn’t deserve Aleena. The reveal of why he is haunted is another wow woman

Their pasts are intertwined and their futures uncertain. The only truths they know are the secrets they whisper in the night.

A.L. Jackson is the New York Times bestselling author of Take This Regret and Lost to You, as well as other contemporary romance titles, including Pulled and When We Collide.

She first found a love for writing during her days as a young mother and college student. She filled the journals she carried with short stories and poems used as an emotional outlet for the difficulties and joys she found in day-to-day life.

Years later, she shared a short story she’d been working on with her two closest friends and, with their encouragement, this story became her first full length novel. A.L. now spends her days writing in Southern Arizona where she lives with her husband and three children. Her favorite pastime is spending time with the ones she loves.
