Pippa Sanders’ life is sort of stalled. I felt bad for her being a military wife having lost her husband. That was not the worst part, poor Pippa had her twins after her husband’s death. She visits his grave regularly for the past six years and nothing is going to change until…..Clay! Yeah he is a love muffin! Being he is in town helping at his Mom’;s Christmas tree farm while she is recovering from a stroke.
They get started with Clay being so obnoxious. I actually felt bad for a second then I was laughing so hard. He is so direct and no nonsense with Pippa and it is what I thought she needed. She is not a well rounded girl so the author creating a character that is just going through the motions meeting someone who tells her basically enough already. He tells her things that to her are offensive, but he does what I felt her friends and family should have done a while ago. He tells her to start living.
There are conversations with Clay’s Mom about how he wanted a big family and had asked her to have a brother or sister. She explains what happened telling Pippa her story. It was so special. That woman was a wonderful character.
This is filled with a plot of a military group running parallel to the love story. I love the cover and I picture Pippa like that. Grab this for the sheer love story and enjoy the military part too.

About the Author
Gemma’s favorite desk accessories for many years were a circular wooden token, better known as a ’round tuit,’ and a slip of paper from a fortune cookie proclaiming her a lover of words; some day she’d write a book. All it took was a transfer to the United Kingdom, the lovely English springtime, and a huge dose of homesickness to write her first novel. Once it was completed and sent off with a kiss, even the rejections addressed to ‘Dear Author’ were gratifying.
