When Piper Reynolds comes face to face with Pip, a woman that looks identical to her from a parallel reality, she discovers that their bond draws them together in times of need. Piper is the first to “jump” into Pip’s world and finds that although many aspects appear the same, small choices have made their realities much different. Piper is forced to not only face her own mortality after a car accident, but that of her child’s when she finds that her young son has leukemia.

Pip falls victim to a stalker that has set his sights on her. Although Pip’s husband tries to save her from the stalker’s assaults, the only one that can save her is Piper. Pip frantically works to save the life of Piper’s son, Graham, by being a bone marrow donor. Will she be able to stay in Piper’s world long enough to provide her life saving gift?

Pip struggles to hold onto her personal relationships after she gives Piper the ultimate sacrifice. Will their bond of friendship and love be able to save them and their families from losing Graham to leukemia and Piper leaving her life after a car accident?

Excerpt B:
“Hi,” She glanced up at Graham and slowly licked her bottom lip. Her eyes had gone from a warm brown to a dark liquid color that threatened to drown Graham. “Hi yourself,” he took a hold of her chin with his thumb and traced a small circle on her jaw line. Bending his head, he slowly brushed his lips on hers and was instantly met with a current that seemed to stir him all the way to his stomach. He craved her like no other, but also wanted to take his time and enjoy every curve of her soft skin, every crease he needed to memorize.

He inhaled her sweet smell and seemed to hold his breath as her scent filled every inch of his being. With both of his hands free, he wrapped them around her lower back and bunched a handful of material in his fist. Graham pulled her into his body, feeling her warmth and softness, which threatened to take all of his senses over the edge.

His tongue joined hers and in a slow dance with one another’s mouths, he hungrily deepened the kiss until he could hear his heart beating in his ears. Graham could be satisfied kissing and drinking in her lips for days, but Lily broke away from him slowly.

Looking up at him through her eyelashes, she bent down and slipped off her heel on one foot and then removing the other one, she let it drop to the floor. She never took her eyes off of Graham and watched him watching her. Reaching up and pulling her hair so it fell to one side, she slowly untied the knot on the halter dress behind her neck. Graham watched as the material slipped down and seemed to free-fall past her curvy hips to land in a heap on the floor.

“You promise?” Lily winked and then threw her head back and laughed.

Graham knew at that moment that he had been waiting his whole life to hear a sound like that – it swirled around his heart and rested on his soul.

Baggage by Katie L Thompson @KatieLThompson1

Baggage

When Jess Cooper hears that her ex-boyfriend, the father of her child has been released from prison and is on his way to see them running off to the country seems like a good idea, however, perhaps things aren’t that simple. It started off great! I usually know in the first chapter whether it is a good read or not. I was thrown into the story willing Jess out of the terror she seemed to be running from.

Jess can’t stop her past from creeping into her future. She struggles with a child, and low income. I felt so bad for her and I wanted someone to give her a life. Well I got my wish and more! What happens when Jess finds a place and moves? Well the new beginning she hoped for is there, she needs a push to go get it. Jess and the other characters living together in this huge house were just so special. Each there for their own reasons and we get to see them all.  I really liked the author giving more than one POV. Immediately Daniel was exposed as the silent, smart, mysterious man. Parts of Daniel’s point of view were saddening  He felt ignored and compared himself to Matt and others, not really as confident as he could be. So there was a lot of angst there.

While the title gives away the theme, it is an awesome theme!  Each main character has some sort of baggage.  We learned why Jess was running and how she wouldn’t let her daughter be thrown into her turmoil. There is a wonderful point when Logan gets into the picture too. I won’t go into it but I think it shows how great the character of Jess turns out to be.

The journey of Daniel, Jess and trips to Spain and New York show she wasn’t the only person carrying baggage. Each chapter added more to Jess and her relationship to Daniel. I like dhow she wasn’t too sure with Daniel but was still not pining away. The end if her Dad and who he is was a reveal worthy of big applauds!

What I really liked was the potential I saw. This could have been epic! While some may critique writing styles that are different between the UK and the US, that was not an issue. I think seeing someone spend dollars and pounds are no big deal. Looking at the big picture it was a good book, loaded with romance and life lessons in mothering!

Gastien Part 1: The Cost of the Dream (The Gastien Series #1) by Caddy Rowland @caddyorpims

5.5"X8.5" Post Card Template

When young Gastien Beauchamp flees the farm for Paris, the late nineteenth century bohemian era is in full swing. Color has always called to him, beseeching him to capture it on canvas and show people a new way of seeing things. His father belittled his dream of being an artist and tried to beat him into giving it up. The dream wouldn’t die, but Gastien would have had he not left.

He also yearns to become a great lover. After the years of anguish he has endured at the hand of his father, it would be heaven to feel pleasure instead of pain.

However, the city of Paris has a ruthless agenda. Unless a man has money and connections, Paris unfeelingly crushes dreams and destroys souls. With neither of the required assets, Gastien faces living in alleys, digging in trash bins for food, and sleeping where a man is often killed for his threadbare blanket.

Left with nothing but his dreams, Gastien clings to the hope that the impossible is possible. He pushes on, regardless of the cost.

To Katie With Love
Written by Erica Lucke Dean
Banker Katie James has a serious thing for romance novels. She’d almost rather settle for a fictional boyfriend than risk her heart on a flesh-and-blood man. Besides, the only real guy she’s remotely interested in is her rich, unattainable client, the mysterious Cooper Maxwell.
Looking less like the ultra-conservative man she knows and more like a drop-dead sexy character from one of her books, Cooper crashes Katie’s 29th birthday party. But one too many drinks lands Katie in uncharted territory… Cooper’s bedroom!

Drunk on love, Katie dives headfirst into the relationship only to discover that Cooper is keeping secrets… dangerous ones. As if things couldn’t get worse, her meddling mother makes a surprise visit, digging up a whole new set of problems.
Who would have guessed having an assassin for a boyfriend would be the least of her worries?

Excerpt:
1
-THE BIRTHDAY PARTY-
“Look around, Katie. Somewhere out there is the perfect man for you. You just need to take your nose out of a book long enough to find him.” Vicky’s crimson lips spread in a wide smile, and I resisted the urge to stick my tongue out at her.
“Oh, leave her alone,” Silvia said, peering at Vicky over her leopard-print reading glasses. “It might do you some good to read once in a while. I assume you know how.”
“Very funny.” Vicky rolled her eyes, tossing her flaming hair with a flourish. “You clearly didn’t notice the leaning tower of paperbacks on her nightstand. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many books in one place. They practically block the light coming in her bedroom window. And that—” She poked my arm with a lacquered fingernail. “—is bordering on pathetic. You’re just a few cats away from being a cliché.”
I opened my mouth to speak, but she cut me off.
“Come on, Katie, wouldn’t you rather have a flesh and blood man in your bed instead of a dusty old book? There are dozens of guys in here. Don’t you think at least one of them could drag you away from your stupid romance novels for a change? I’ll bet you’ve got a book stashed in your purse right now.” Vicky pointed at the bag I clutched in my lap. “Go ahead, Silvia. Prove
me wrong.”
Silvia shook her head and chuckled. “I’m not going to dig through her purse.”
“There’s nothing wrong with reading romance novels,” I whispered, releasing the strangle hold on my bag to shove it behind my back against the booth.
“Oh, sweetie…” Silvia patted my hand. “Vicky isn’t saying there’s something wrong with reading romance novels.”
“No, that’s exactly what I’m saying,” Vicky said, then took a long slurp of her frozen margarita. “And for the record, you don’t just read them. You read them again, and again, and again. Most of the books I saw were held together with tape. Do you ever get anything new, or do you keep reading the same ones over and over?”
“I get new ones… sometimes.”
Vicky had one thing right. I did have a book stashed in my bag, and I should have been home, tucked into bed with it. So what if I had a thing for romance novels? Ok, maybe thing wasn’t strong enough a word. It didn’t quite define the entire scope of my relationship with the paperback romance. Involved would be more accurate.
But despite what my coworkers might think, I wasn’t some un-dateable old maid, spending her nights curled up with six cats while crocheting gaudy afghans in retro-seventies colors and sipping warm milk. I didn’t even own an actual cat.
“If you ask me, you’re wasting the perfect opportunity to find Mr. Right,” Vicky chirped.
What did she know about my Mr. Right? A quick scan of the smoke-filled bar proved my point. Not a single guy in the place even remotely resembled the lead in my nightly fantasy. Ok, so it wasn’t a very big room, but like Vicky said, the place was packed with a wide assortment of men—like the guy with cheese dip down his front and his buddy, laughing hyena man. As far as I was concerned, not a single one warranted a second glance, certainly not an invitation into my bedroom. Definitely no one worthy of butterflies in my stomach.
Vicky raised an eyebrow. “Well?”
“Well, he isn’t here now,” Silvia answered, and I could have kissed her. “Which reminds me, what happened to June and Phil?”
Vicky shrugged, slurping down another mouthful of her drink.
“Maybe they aren’t coming.” I was ready to slide out of the booth and make my escape. “We should probably just go.”
Silvia glared at me. “You’re not going anywhere. I’m sure they’re on their way. They wouldn’t dare skip your birthday party.”
Perfect. I was trapped.
“You know,” Vicky said, “you’re way too old to be single.”
My mother was fond of saying that very thing, far too often. But they were both wrong. I’m still in my prime. As a matter of fact, I don’t think I’ve even reached my prime yet. I’m only twenty-eight years old.
“Happy birthday, Katie!”

After walking away from her career as a business banker to pursue writing full-time, Erica Lucke Dean moved from the hustle and bustle of the big city to a small tourist town in the North Georgia Mountains, where she lives in a 90-year-old haunted farmhouse with her workaholic husband, her 180lb lap dog, and at least one ghost.
When she’s not writing or tending to her collection of crazy chickens and diabolical ducks, she’s either reading bad fan fiction or singing karaoke in the local pub. Much like the main character in her newest book, To Katie With Love, Erica is a magnet for disaster, and has been known to trip on air while walking across flat surfaces. How she’s managed to survive this long is one of life’s great mysteries.
