True’s Love by TL Clark #Review @TLClarkAuthor

Great chick lit with a lot of steamy sexual encounters. I have to label the book as chick lit but with a ton of steam. I was taken right away with Amanda. I read this so fast! Her story is fun, flirty, light, easy to read and somewhat funny. Amanda and Clare are like two little peas in a pod. I can seriously see a fun and flirty series just about these two girls. When Amanda goes to Ibeza with Clare she encounters many sexy men.

Amanda and Clare are very much alike in their free and easy lifestyle. Amanda meets someone very much a challenge. I say that Mike (Mikhail) is a challenge because he is someone that she can’t have fun with and walk away. Mike has staying power. In and out of the bedroom

The book morphs into a trilling little chase for bad guys looking to hurt Hugo, Mike’s friend/boss.

This started as something I liked and ended with me loving it. The steam factor is there for sure. Jump right on it and grab this one. It is a quick read for the great summer beach days.

Dark Love

This book delves into the dark realm of Mistress Eigengrau, and the love that exists between this female Dom and her male Sub. This is not a book for the faint-hearted or under-18s as it contains graphic sexually explicit scenes, so strap on tight for a rough ride!

Jonathan (our gorgeous hero of a Submissive) has his attention diverted by another but it leaves him conflicted and confused. Can he turn away from the only kind of love he has ever known to explore new avenues? Or is it just a passing fancy; a light shone on a new world that ultimately has no longevity? Jonathan’s life is certainly about to get a lot more challenging.

Young’s Love

Samantha is a downtrodden thirty-something living in the UK. Her life is controlled by others, particularly her overbearing husband. This is the story of her voyage to independence, and a trip to Tuscany.

Her ensuing flings are not overly successful, but each experience teaches her something new about herself. One of her dates seems to have a tortured past too; perhaps he can help heal her wounds?

Will she ever find true love? Well, at least she can discover a new found joy of sex.

Rekindled Love

Are you fed up with the youngsters getting all the action in romance novels?
This book was created with the intention of enlightening people on the wonders of sex in middle age.

We take a journey through Sophie’s life. We join her with her first love, who she gets torn away from. We go on to follow her life; hatches, matches and dispatches. Hers is not an easy life, but hold her hand through the bumpy bits to get to the good times.

The Good Life by Genevieve Dewey @GenevieveDewey #Review

I loved all 3 books. The fact that they were stuffed into one was a huge bonus. Any book that takes me two days to read is another bonus. If you have read Gen`s other books this one has a totally different style. It’s still Dewey-fabulous too but this had humor and a witty side . I’m in love with Dom and Kate! Not to mention the families. There is a lot to talk about with them. So in a word zany! This is like I love Lucy meets the Brady bunch meets a Janet Evanovich novel (It rivals her for sure)

If you grab this you get all of the novels together so GRAB it. The story of Dom Valentini is one that makes you smile. Seriously he is one lucky guy in the family department. He is divorced and now closer to where he grew up. His best friend growing up was Kate. They got into the usual trouble kids get into. Now they had a banter between them that worked. Sometimes you read about people “secretly” in love, well this is NOT one of them. They both dated other people and remained friends. When there seems to be a little something between them you find out that thinking about each other, yes they though he/she was good looking, smart ,fun, yada yada.

family 53269a4e0b2950b9ac4fea973fd70f47

Dom’s family and Kate’s family are close, as are the siblings, they know things that are nutsy about each other. Kate’s sisters are hilarious! They each deserve a book. There is too much to say about them. They love, laugh and play detective for each other. Kate’s brother Kyle is best friends with Dom and his sister Demetria aka Demi. The four of them make this book. I LOVED them. I will say Demi and her natural products had me laughing. One particular scene where they realize there is something there between Demi and Kyle and Kate tells her she sells bongs and he arrests those who use then. I was cracking up.
damn lolThis offers a new style of writing for this author. I have read all of her other books and by far this is the best. It has romance, funny situations and lots of steam. I am so thrilled and proud to call Genevieve Dewey a friend and I get to boast about her work. What a fab read especially if you need a beach read. This is for

Leverage (The Mistaken #2) by Nancy S. Thompson @NancySThompson #Review

Bigger, badder and darker than book 1. I was on edge literally until the last page
I will have to start by telling you this was dark. The kind of dark that I love to read! For Tyler and the Russian Mafia, Bratva I give 2 thumbs up! I really enjoyed that. I think maybe a little more because I am Italian and I guess I just want another ethnic group to take the pain away. Personal opinion there.

This book started with Connor so I was happy. Connor has ups and downs like any college kid who has been battling his parents divorce. I think I liked him because he seemed just as fragile as I wanted him to. When you think he has lived through a divorce and his fathers cheating to get to the point where he is coping. The other part I loved was where Conner doesn’t know about Tyler. He knows surface things. He does at some point question them (you know how did you and my mom hook up? and where is your family? what is this mob you speak in hushed voices about?) . That part for me was explosive. He thinks of Tyler as the stereotypical bad Step-Dad but he doesnt know how awesome Tyler is. When he finds out a few little parts of the relationship between Tyler and his mom he changes his attitude a little bit.

Now we have Hannah and Tyler married, expecting a child and seemingly happy. It dont last long! What a roller coaster. Like I said before it is dark. There is a section that had me screaming!   Enter Grigory Dmitriev. Yikes The author created someone who is a loan shark and evil, but NO WAIT he is Chernov’s heir. That makes him just as evil! Evil enough to create a stunning plot to hurt Tyler. OK the author created a stunning plot that used this evil character to infiltrate Tyler’s home and life. The way the entire plot is set up was phenomenal. I dont know how it was done, but the end product was rocking my little world.

The other honorable mention was Roman the next door neighbor. I liked him. He made Hannah cafe and soothed her after a loud squabble with Tyler. I heard his story and was moved. Then he turned ….well…spoiler ….he was evil too. I was taken by that one big time!

There are characters from book 1 that come back. I loved how Tyler had connections in the FBI that help him again. They are all equally as good as in book 1. It added to the scenery to have them on Tyler’s team.

If you love thrillers with romance then please grab this one.

A dark romantic thriller intended for a mature audience.

Four years ago, Tyler Karras’ quest to avenge his wife’s death led to all out war with San Francisco’s Russian Mafia. With the Bratva’s collapse and its king, Dmitri Chernov, long dead, all Ty wants now is to put it behind him and enjoy a second chance at life with his new bride, Hannah, and the child they’re expecting any day.

But Chernov’s heir, Grigory Dmitriev, has returned, bitter and determined. He wants his kingdom back, and he’s more than willing to leverage Ty’s new family to get it.

First he targets Conner, Ty’s brooding nineteen-year-old stepson, manipulating the boy into a vortex of sex, drugs, alcohol, and gambling. Then he turns his sights on Hannah. At eight months pregnant, she’s the ultimate bargaining chip. With both their lives in jeopardy, as well as his unborn child, Ty has little choice but to do as Grigory commands.

But Tyler swore he’d never kill again. He buried that monster four years ago and means to keep it that way. Grigory, however, makes that vow impossible to keep.

With his new family on the line, Ty will cross further into the dark side than he ever has before, challenging everything he believes about himself, and forcing him to face the ghosts of his past. Only then will Ty discover if he has the strength to do the unspeakable, to sacrifice his last chance at redemption and save the lives of those he loves most.

The Mistaken (The Mistaken #1) by Nancy S. Thompson @NancySThompson #Review

TheMistaken.indd

Writing this review is gonna be hard This was more than amazing rivals some huge authors. First I think this is a thrilling book with a slice of romance. I saw some comparisons and well, in my opinion there are none. There was no Stockholm syndrome, again in my opinion. Anyways the characters in the forefront are Tyler and Nick brothers. Nick is somewhat of a troubled soul. He was driving when he had an accident that results in the death of his parents and sister who was 15. Tough to read those parts. What is worse is that that event sets the entire book into motion. It brings feelings between two brothers that should never be spoken or felt. Nick knows his troubles with drugs and drinking are nothing compared to gambling.

The rest is a cat and mouse that I swear rivals any Stuart Woods or Patterson book out there. We at least know that Nancy wrote this book! The plot and the characters are excellent. I saw nothing but brilliant writing, characters and plot. I saw no spelling errors and the cover was outstanding too. There are so many interesting twists and turns here make sure you can devour the book fast because you will be sleepless over it.

If you like suspense with a romantic twist then PLEASE read this one. Book 2 is out and book one doesn’t leave you hanging so for that I am thankful. It is a marvelous start to a series.

Stupid by Choice by Leighton Summers‏ #review

I have to say this was my cup of tea! Back in the day I would walk into the book store and go to my genre of choice and actually choose the longest book. Nothing was worse than being on the good old F train going into Manhattan with nothing to read. Sadly you have to look at the people on the train with you, not good! Anyways This book had a lot of great elements. Melanie St. John was a Texas Oil Attorney’s daughter. Most of the story she struggles with wealth and whether she wants it or hates it. Her and her parents and sister have a lot of emotional turmoil in their lives. The books shows a side of Texas that isn’t usually shown. The oil business is as big as their hats! Oldie is the typical wealthy attorney who loves with his heart and his wallet.

iStock_000001392817_Small

Melanie thinks she is getting away with a secret and her boyfriend David. I know this is a mini spoiler but….Oldie confronts her and wahooo does he have the goods on his little virgin daughter. It broke my heart and this is where I loved to hate Oldie. He was genuine in his care and concern for Melanie but it tore my heart out. She loved David. Yes there wouldn’t be a book if she chose David. I know that, but the characters were really real to me and spoke to me. I grieve the loss of David!

As Melanie decided to go to UT and with her sister and her friend Eva they start college life. Eva was the daughter of Helmut. OH my did that man scare me!  I really liked the dark side of her. Her life, chances, and the experiences she was famous for were priceless, scary and tragic. When the family goes to Europe and discovers what a colossal mess Eva and Whitney have gotten into.

 ????????????????????????????????????????

Melanie watches Whitney have fun and never let college consume her. She seemed to consume, champagne and men. I liked all of her. She was not superficial, she knew what she wanted and was a semi alpha girl. I guess I appreciated her vision. I enjoyed all the fearsome foursome and their antics. All the college and angst of growing up were were played out well. I liked how descriptive she was with the areas. Whether in Texas, New York, Paris or Italy the author was descriptive with the areas letting you visualize it.

????????????????????????????????????????

Melanie was a wonderful and rich character and so was the book. This is a great weekend at the beach book.

4 .5 stars

About the Author:

Leighton Summers is a sixth generation Texan who has traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe her whole life.  During her travels she was always surrounded by interesting, successful (and often eccentric) people who encouraged her to find her passion and live life to the fullest.  Writing novels always intrigued her, and so one day while in New York City she took out her laptop in a café and decided to jot down some notes about how a female character created from her own world could “love smarter.”  Over the next four years the notes turned into both funny and sad adventures of a women’s quest for finding friendship, love, self, and family and she weaved them all together into this, her debut novel.
