For fans of cozy mystery series this is for you. I have read a couple of this authors books and really enjoy her style. As for the characters, well Milton was the one I wanted to smack, but he is dead in the first few chapters so thats cool. Now how did Milton die? hmm the scandal in the town, well that is hilarious at times. I love the small town feel of the characters. The descriptions of the neighbors is sometimes laughable too. 

I think the part about this property and what the intentions were are at the center of the book. In short if you make a statement in River Bend, people are gonna take notice. With Milton’s current wife and x wife this leads to some great reading! I say if you love mysteries without blood and gore then this is one to grab.

I have to admit that when I read the blurb for Tumbleweed, I was NOT expecting it to be as dark. I love dark and this was NO exception. The author totally blows my mind with this one! The characters are wonderful but nothing compared to the plot. The story centers around one young photographer Hayley who I loved. She was free and very sexual. When her relationship with Mikel, a famous and wealthy Spanish soccer player goes wrong she goes a little crazy. Mikel was the catalyst for her change. It takes Hayley to exotic places. She encounters rich socialite Celine and her husband Jack Luck. I loved this part of the story!

After leaving Hayley goes to Egypt. She feels safe and has two tour guides both named Mohammed. She comes up with nic names by splitting their names up. Mohammed’s girlfriend is Nubiti, she comes back in a way I was not at all expecting.

Hayley learns so much about their culture, scenery and photographs many places. Where Hayley goes wrong is, in MY opinion, when she decides that the sexually repressed should be corrupted. Hayley sets out almost immediately to lure the boys into having sex. YES it was hot!

She planned this and has a camera bad loaded with them!

All the while the political corruption, Mubarak and some awful people start the darkness. Baba is Mohammed’s father and he hold Hayley and abuses her. It is dark, nasty, raw and unbelievable to read. So much more than I was expecting!

This book has a history in South Africa. I admit it is not for everyone some parts of the history is hard to read. There is a lot of corruption going on here. Besides that it is a little dark with respect to some of the gang related areas of Cape Town. I like dark so yes I did enjoy it. When the dog comes up with the bone it starts everything off. The description of the human bone and all was good enough to start the plot on a slow upward march. 

The character of Dr Clare Hart who is an investigative profiler is called to start the investigation. Her lover Riedwaan is the Captain in charge of the gang unit. These two are both working the same crime. I will admit the name Reidwaan was not going over well with me. It was one I never heard and found it hard to keep seeing. There is language and terms that I was not familiar with either so it made parts a little difficult.

It is an enjoyable read especially if you are a mystery lover especially one that is wrapped in turmoil of the political nature.

I’ve gotta review this but HOW? The main characters are Landon and Daisy but then it’s Gray and Daisy. Ok but they aren’t the BEST you know who is Cat Mason cause she gave ME Hunter aka Cunter This was steamy, sexy, realistically told and I hope will go on and on.

NOW This cracks me up! I look back on my updates on Goodreads and laugh so hard. So not spoiler Landon and Daisy are engaged, and they are ending the summer with a six week tour to help Shaft, the band on tour. Now Landon and Gray are brothers, well it is complicated. Anyways when the meeting between Daisy and Gray happens it sort of screamed at me. I was not pleased. It was predictable. It was one of those male big band ego guys coming up to get some from a cutie. Burst the bubble now it is Daisy, your future sister in-law you turd! 

Everything that happens after the predictable moment is totally UN-predictable. There are so many curve balls thrown into this very steamy novel. We have all read the famous rock God type novels, you know the Olivia ones we all drool over? Well this is a rival for sure.

Now lastly in my fave category for this book is Hunter! Yes he is a dream in the making, a child needing love, a kid needing attention and copious amounts of bacon. He is the funniest, boldest and most fave character to me anyways! He sort of hooks up with a lot of people, then the comes Chase, she is something else. I know when you read this book he will be the star too.

Plot wise– there are a few reveals that make you spit 

Characters– some you expect, most you never knew you would love

BAD characters– the ones that you love because the author creates them in a way that you love to hate them 

Lots to love here. I totally recommend it!
