In 2153, cancer was cured. In 2189, AIDS. And in 2235, the last members of the human race traveled to a far distant planet called Pearl to begin the next chapter of humanity.
Several hundred years after their arrival, the remainder of humans live in a utopian colony in which every need is satisfied automatically, and there is no need for human labor, struggle or thought. But when the machines that regulate the colony begin to malfunction, the colonists are faced with a test for the first time in their existence.
With the lives of the colonists at stake, it is left to a young man named Samuel to repair these breakdowns and save the colony. Aided by his friend Penny, Samuel rises to meet each challenge. But he soon discovers a mysterious group of people behind each of these problems, and he must somehow find and defeat these saboteurs in order to rescue his colony.

Blind Man’s Bargain by Tracy Winegar @TracyWinegar @TheBookAvenue
Mixing It Up by Ariel Ellman @ArielEllman #review

First book was great and so was the cover but this cover, HOLY **** this is the best cover! I love it! First book was about Ani and Sebastian finding each other, the break up of Ani and Jordan’s marriage, this is centered around Sawyer, Ani’s younger sister. The book shares some of book one’s history so dont miss out on book one.

In this novel we learn what makes Sawyer tick. Something about her character just fascinates me. She stops me in my tracks and makes me laugh out loud until I wanna cry. She has little to no filter, says the bold things most only think, and has the best sex life. She was a lesbian or at least she told herself she was. From book one my hot marinara sauce loving seafood man Bobby is back. What is unusual is that Bobby is warm and loving towards Sawyer.
He accepts that she will be with him when she wants and expects nothing. I think what I liked was his attitude towards her. Bobby spoke of his feelings to Sawyer by telling her he would wait for her.

As for Ani and Sebastian…they are thriving. There is animosity between Jordan and Sebastian still. It is explored in the book with results you have to read! The Raffi situation is progressing. She is growing up and seems to adjust to their life together. All of them in the loft living together is perfect!

The Hector’s are back in full force. I think they are great and they sure do deserve a book of their own. As things change and the bakery expands, Bobby moves his fish market and the bakery hires Ginger. Well I have to say she confused me. I know she is there, Ani gives her a job and her ex husband is in jail. I guess she relates to her. She is pregnant too. Just when you think it is bazaar enter Jordan and a heated encounter.
YES book 3
Enough said just read it!
Sebastian
Ani
Sawyer
Everyone needs a lesbian sister like Sawyer.
Bobby
ho hum….Id go fish for him!

I Know Lucy by Melissa Pearl @MelissaPearlG #NewRelease #spotlight
Lucy Tate is on the run. After witnessing the brutal murder of her parents, she’s spent five years in hiding — taking on different personas and faking her way through life. The authorities can’t be trusted, so she remains in the shadows, always one beat ahead of the man who is forever hunting her. That is, until she meets Zach Schultz, a senior at Monte Vista High and the one guy she can’t bear to leave. Suddenly her natural instincts to lie, cheat, and run are overshadowed by something else…the desire to stay and perhaps, love. It’s her one shot at a normal life.
Curious by nature, Zach is immediately drawn to the new girl at school. How can a person look both confident and vulnerable all in the same moment? Determined to figure Lucy out, he sets out to unravel the mystery that is her and soon finds himself caught up in a cat and mouse game. For the first time in his life he is faced with the reality that the truth can no longer set him free…if anything, it’s going to get him killed.

Flirt New Adult Romance
On sale: September 2, 2014
ISBN: 978-0-553-39035-3
About the book:
Lauren Layne’s heart-wrenching novel tells the story of a girl with secrets, a guy with scars, and a love that could save them both . . . or destroy them.
When Olivia Middleton abandons the glamour of Park Avenue for a remote, coastal town in Maine, everyone assumes she’s being the kind do-gooder she’s always been. But Olivia has a secret: helping an injured war veteran reenter society isn’t about charity—it’s about penance. Only, Olivia’s client isn’t the grateful elderly man she’s expecting. Instead, he’s a brooding twenty-four-year-old who has no intention of being Olivia’s path to redemption . . . and whose smoldering gaze and forbidden touch might be her undoing.
Paul Langdon doesn’t need a mirror to show him he’s no longer the hotshot quarterback he was before the war. He knows he’s ugly—inside and out. He’ll do anything to stay in self-imposed exile, even accept his father’s ultimatum that Paul tolerate the newest caretaker for three months or lose his inheritance. But Paul doesn’t count on the beautiful twenty-two-year-old who makes him long for things that he can never have. And the more she slips past his defenses, the more keeping his distance is impossible.
Now Paul and Olivia have to decide: Will they help each other heal? Or are they forever broken?
** Teaser Reveal!**
Olivia squirms. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I’ve never known a female to acquiesce that easily without a catch. How about you hit me with it now and get it over with?”
Olivia shrugs. “Fine. I was going to say that I won’t run alone, if you promise to go with me.”
“No,” I say, almost before she’s finished her sentence.
“Why not?”
I rap my cane once against the ground. “Well, for starters, despite the fact that there are tortoises that could surpass your sorry excuse for a jog, I’m in no shape to accompany even the most pathetic of runners.”
“What a handy skill you have of overloading a sentence with insults,” she says as she reaches up to adjust her ponytail. “That must be helpful what with your thriving social life and all.”
I thump my cane against the ground again, studying her. “Must be nice, picking on the cripple.”
Olivia rolls her eyes. “Please. Your soul’s more crippled than your leg.”
She has no idea how right she is, and I have no intention of letting her anywhere close enough to find out. I’ve gotten good at shutting people out by pushing them away . . . being as nasty as possible until they reach their breaking point. But with her? It’s different.

AWAKEN by Skye Malone @skye_malone
Running away from home was never Chloe Kowalski’s plan.
Neither was ending up the target of killers, or having her body change in unusual ways. She only wanted a vacation, someplace far from her crazy parents and their irrational fear of water. She only wanted to do something normal for once, and maybe get to know her best friend’s hot stepbrother a bit better at the same time. But the first day she goes out on the ocean, strange things start to happen. Dangerous things that should be impossible. Things to which ‘normal’ doesn’t even begin to apply. Now madmen are hunting her. A mysterious guy with glowing blue eyes is following her. And her best friend’s stepbrother seems to be hiding secrets all his own. It was supposed to be a vacation. It’s turning out to be a whole lot more.

The Sweet Spot by Ariel Ellman #review @ArielEllman

First this is the best cover! I am in love with it! For the book it was just fantastic! Seriously the entire scenario between our three main characters couldn’t have been written better. Ani being semi happy married to Jordan seemed so cliche for about a minute. As the story unfolds and we learn Sebastian is back all I can say is bring on the angst. His story of prison was a sad one. What was worse than the reason he was in prison? The fact that he DOES explain his reasons for passing up parole. What a man! I can’t describe how I was cheering for this author just for writing him in the light she did. It is NOT typical at all.
So Ani is married to Jordan and they have a give who is 9 named Raphael. The story for them and their daughter is love story. Jordan, although older by 15 years, was perfect for Ani. When Jordan reaches a low, the character remembers little pieces of their time together, and realizes something was always missing. I was so torn between the two men.
Too good not to post over and over again
Who was the other star of the book? Sawyer! Ani has the best sister in the universe. I love her! Everyone needs a lesbian sister like Sawyer. She had the best lines in the book. It was a wonderful way to give a little lighthearted humor in a very serious circumstance. They shared a bond even though there was an age difference. What was funny to me was how the author describes childhood memories of Sawyer and Ani. As adults whether right or wrong Sawyer backed Ani 100%.
Another character that spoke to me was Liam, Sebastian’s dad. it is a little spoiler but, I must call attention to the way he cared for his son. This man has suffered great loss. He is overall a fairly wise and happy man. What I liked was the fact that the author writes him in a completely forgiving light. His son was in prison, when he returns, Liam welcomes him. He knew that he raised a unique boy who was delivered a punishment, suffered the consequences, and learned from it. Also while Sebastian was away he made use of his time becoming a very educated man.
Believe me when I say it is not your typical contemporary romance. It is a story to be savored, read, enjoyed and most of all shared! If you love it tell someone. New authors like Ariel Ellman need the fans to speak for them. If you read it, write an Amazon review, let the author know she has someone rooting for her success.

Better When He’s Bad by Jay Crownover @JayCrownover @Literati_Lit
So you’ve met Rule, Jet, Rome, and soon Nash! But there’s a new boy in town, along with a new series, by Jay Crownover. Better When He’s Bad (Welcome to the Point #1) is a new adult novel scheduled for publication on June 17, 2014, by William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishing.
This is how Jay describes her new novel/series:
“It’s dark and dangerous and set in a fictitious underworld/bad part of town. The men in all of the books are way more along the line of being anti-heros than true leading men. I guess the easiest way to sum them up is by saying the books are all about the choices these characters have to make and the outcomes and results of those decisions. Bax’s book is all about having to make the hard choices and what becomes of him and his lady in doing so. They are super fun, very atmospheric and I think really what writing a bad boy should be like if you’re going to do it :)”
Look in the back of Nash’s book to find the first chapter of “Better When He’s Bad.”
Synopsis
Welcome to the Point
There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter.
Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.
Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.
Bax terrifies her, but it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize that some boys are just better when they’re bad.

About the Author
I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that.
I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.
