Clover watched his chest widen as he inhaled. He owned the bar and did the tending? Impressive. One little thing to settle. “My savior…” she purred and reached for him, sliding her body up against his. “What do you want for your heroic deed, sir?” Her voice took on a note of sarcasm. “Perhaps I should repay you with a nice, long fuck. Is that what you want?” She brushed a hand along his chest and walked a circle around him. It’s what all men wanted, and if she could oblige, she would. Despite her hurt pride, she found his masculinity, his strength penetrating every part of the bar, captivating.
“I want nothing from you. I only did what any gentleman would have done, Elfess.”
Her heart skipped. He’d already nicknamed her. Anger flared. “I can handle myself. You had no reason to interfere.” It didn’t matter that she liked the nickname and how it rolled off his tongue in that smooth low voice. She didn’t need a protector.
People began to stare.
“And what could you have done as his fist collided with your pretty face? I couldn’t have that now, could I?” His eyebrow arched.
“It wouldn’t have hit me. I would have moved out of the way. He was slow. I had everything under control. You men are all the same—only looking to fulfill your own pride, make sure you’re seen in a good light. I’m no distressed elfling.” Clover stepped back.
Anger permeated him. His nostrils flared out and his face turned the cutest shade of red. Clover resisted the urge to smile.
“Next time, I will oblige your pride.” He advanced on her, taking away the distance between them. His jaw clenched when he reached her. Clover moved backwards, wary of his intentions. His green eyes glared. “Are you worried now, Elfess?”

This was a sick book! I cant give away any spoilers, so I will say that I was almost stuttering. OK there is this part where the agents, obviously undercover sort of covert people, are actually hypnotized. What a twist! I guess if you speak to the subconscious mind you dont have to worry about an agent giving away details right? This is something so different. I was upset it was a novella, cause it was GREAT!
There ia a romance between the agent/con artist Marissa and her new partner for this job, Trevor Harris. If you want a great, different read then try this new Entangled release.

banner A very different mc book. I liked the author’s approach to their day to day lives. Granted there is not really any glamour to this type of book, but what do you need glam for when you have The Kitty Kat as a backdrop? I felt equal amounts of hate, love, lust, sadness and lies. If you like semi-dark books then you will love this one!

As for the meat and potato part I will say that Chipper is one of my favorites. He is sweet, took Jenna aka Ice in, loves his wife, and most of all he is a loyal Renegade. So when the book starts out we are thrown into a scene that was tough. It sets the tone for Timmons. He has held Jenna a virtual prisoner since her Daddy lost her in payment for a debt. Her Dad Brew is awful. All this is explored while we learn to like the Renegades.

What I liked about the book was the roughness. I felt in comparison to some others this one was dark, but in the right way. When discussing the club and their activities of course drugs were involved, but that aspect was not overpowering. I dont like it when prostitution and drugs seem glamorous. I know it aint reality but I dont want to glamorize a lifestyle.

A big huge tremendous WOW I just finished and I am stunned, shocked, and needing to yell a little bit. I feel the same way as I did when my player didn’t make the NBA All Star team. Go DeAndre Jordan! That ain’t good!
First things first. I love I nice long book! This was really good for that. The next thing I like is a strong character. I got that with the leads Eric, Tina and Renae. I want everyone to read this so I am going to try something different and break it down so I can entice others!
Eric: a mild mannered college student/professor. He is perfect in every way. He has goals, dreams, and plans. What I loved about Eric was the basis for his character was hard work! He was goal oriented. Trying to get his beloved radio program off the ground he works tirelessly. All he wants is to have admin take the plan to make it reality. Keeping income in mind he works as a personal trainer at “The Club”. There are times when he is almost too good to be true. I guess for someone in his situation  he wants to finish his Masters Degree Program and get that MBA. You know to me he is Rupert. Young, good looking, smart with a nice haircut. I will say nice ass too, but Ive never seen it, Tina told me so.
All along I admire his goals. Not one time does he go, get drunk, have random sex and live to regret it. That is not Eric. So, yes I am in love with him.
The book explores the character of Eric in great detail. He does fall for a married woman, oh well. So it may not be the choice he would make, but the heart wants what it wants. What I LOVED was how the author makes the choice to show that two people can have an affair that is not physical. When you cross the imaginary line, there is no going back. Can you call that adultery? I don’t know but I think so. It doesn’t take away from me loving the hell out of Eric.
The author shows the extreme passion he has for Radio Broadcasting. He goes into battle mode with the administration thus proving he is a man of honor. He cares about this program, his goals and his students. There is a lot of politics between him and the university. Overall another interesting part of the story that shows he is so intelligent.
Eric has Renae his best friend. They know each other through the industry for years. She has a kid and is married. Her marriage goes into turmoil and this is another dilemma. Eric has big feelings for a married woman and his best friend is battling her husbands indiscretions. So another score for the author here. He shows how an affair can be emotional, imaginary or physical and have consequences. Renae is a great girl, a friend to Eric, and a business associate. She plays a vital role being Eric’s confidant.
I thought long about who Renae is
Now Tina…my heart hurts for her because I feel like I know her. There is so many sides to her character. She is very caring, a great mom and has strong faith. I wont give plot away, but I will say that again I applaud the author for having the courage to be bold with her. She is obviously not happy with her husband of 14 years Doug. Tina is so strong and although never actually said the words, it is understood she would not enter into a physical relationship. There is some of the best dialogue between Eric and Tina while they are trying not to cross the line.
