The Synopsis blog backer 2077229
Straight-laced and well-mannered southerner Emmy Clarke is out of her depth in New York City’s fashion world, but when she lands a job as an assistant at a modeling agency it seems like the perfect mix of business and pleasure. Working under the notoriously tyrannical Fiona Stone is a nightmare, but there’s one distinct perk: ogling the ridiculously hot male models who parade through the office—particularly rising star Ben Shaw.

Ben is everything Emmy’s not: exquisitely gorgeous, highly paid, and well-traveled. He’s also got more issues than Vogue. Emmy looks after Ben on photo shoots, but she refuses to become another one of his lusting groupies. Ben finds Emmy’s refreshingly real attitude to be surprisingly attractive.

Against a backdrop of the most fashionable cities in the world, casual flirting turns into an illicit affair, but when Ben’s twisted past is revealed, and the bitter Fiona catches wind of their relationship, their careers and hearts are threatened.

Skipping Stones by J.B. McGee @j_b_mcgee #SundaySnippet #teaser #newrelease

The cover blog backer 2077229

I thought I had contained my tears, my emotions, but my body shakes and shudders. Whimpers escape, and the tears increase in frequency and volume. I rush through the door and collapse into the arms of the people who know exactly how much we’ve all just lost.

 The Synopsis blog backer 2077229

They say there are five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

Not everyone will grieve in this order, nor will everyone go through every stage. It’s during the stage of denial when Alex Hart meets Andrew Foster. He takes her one-step closer to acceptance: the stage when new, meaningful relationships are formed. The stage when the realization occurs that this is now the new state of normal.

Just when Alex thinks she is on her way to healing, she enters the bargaining phase. That’s the phase where you wonder what you could have done differently. You wonder “what if?” Specifically, what if the ones you loved hadn’t left you?

Leaving…this is what makes heading off to war so difficult and frightening for Alex. She knows all too well what it’s like to be the one on the losing end of life, which is why she’s made it her personal mission in life to save as many lives as possible. The extreme high she gets from treating trauma victims turns into Alex’s own form of therapy, or so she thinks.

When faced with her world being turned upside down, Alex may just find that her true therapy is in the one who has always saved her

Following Me by K.A. Linde #review #giveaway

17831372

As a fan of K.A. Linde, sometimes it is hard to be objective. We all went through the awful Jack and Ramsey saga. Some of us, me included, came out a double dipper. She made it hard to choose. This book was totally different. The main relationship was a strong one, yet in a different way. There is so much change in her writing and the story flow. It is sort of thinking how can you improve, but it gets better. The story is Devon and Hadley who are room mates in college.  The story begin with Devon on a train going to see Hadley. The first third of the book is a very intricate plot being woven. You will be ready to say “OK when is something going to happen?” and then just when you don’t expect it, yes it happens. All of the reasons for Devon going to visit Hadley are revealed. Devon has secrets, Hadley has secrets, and best of all Hadley’s boyfriend Garrett, well yeah he has some secrets too.

I loved the exploration of Devon’s family and why she felt she could not confide in anyone. Why she went to Chicago and told her parents she was in St Louis and then tells Reid she is in Paris. WOW what web she has woven! The reveal as to what went wrong with Reid and Devon was great. A turn in the right direction and something different. It is a current issue and one relevant in society so read it!

It is a must read! If you love intricate plots with a lot of angst then this is for you. I want to yell Devon had an issue with ….but I cant and please dont ruin the surprises in store. I will gladly give a few copies away. Enter the raffle copter for a chance to win a kindle copy.

Love Unexpected by Love Belvin @LoveBelvin #review

Well I know I had to write the review and I held off. I have to print a few examples of why I just could NOT get through this. I NEVER post, print or share bad reviews. Sometimes I find books I am not thrilled about, this was one. I had to write the review because the author asked me to. THIS is basically why I was shaking my head. I am not into things like this, language and insulting words. Maybe a character speaks like this and it is not my cup of tea, I get how characters have to take on a persona. There was one in jail, and I get where you are a person of color and maybe use terms like those stated in the book loosely, this is just disgusting. What makes it more unbelievable to me is this is the language and life that the main character Reyna grows up in, but suddenly she is all class and expensive taste.

The cover looks great, nice work and very elegant, but it doesn’t depict the story. I thought book one was ok. This book shockingly I find all these five star reviews. I sincerely hope I am missing something when I say I think it was up there with the worst I have read. I don’t know of any other bloggers who have read and reviewed, so I guess I go first.

Next are a few quotes from the book, more reason to just skip this one.

“Grams brought Pops to see me for the last time last Christmas. That was funny as hell. That nigga didn’t even know what to say. I was looking at him like Yeah, nigga. I’m flesh of your flesh and blood of your goddamn blood. It’s yo’ muthafuckin’ fault that I’m in this bitch. He’s a straight bitch, Na-Na. A straight bitch! I hate that muthafucka.” I silently choked on my tears. I understood the sentiment.Read more at location 142 • Delete this highlight

“I wrote Grams and told her not to bring his gay ass up here no more. I ain’t no damn freak show!” Akeem’s features wrinkled, I could tell he was struggling with his next thought. “But he didn’t look good. Grams said that nigga sick. I said good for his ass. Fuck’em!” Akeem seethed. I hated seeing him out of sorts but discussing our father would do that to the both of us.Read more at location 146 • Delete this highlight

I know that it is probably personal, but this was sad and a gross display of foul language. I am a New York girl and it is not as though I never heard this, but I sure don’t ever want to hear it again. Looking at the cover and description you wouldn’t think this is the content. Pass this up, it is not worth it.

Review

As teenagers, Lindsay and Grady found a love together that few people are lucky enough to ever experience. Dont go anywhere without Just One Reason. I sort of feel cheated because I didnt. Anytime they say stand alone, I say don’t cheat yourself and skip, read book one.

I know Lindsay didn’t expect to go away for the summer and have her world changed, but it happened. She never expected what happened just trying to get away from her parents. When Lindsay obviously doesn’t keep her word and plans her and Grady make are not kept, it is hurt and sadness. Poor Grady tries to move on but it is a hard, long, sad five years in between encounters.

It would spoil anything to say how and why Lindsay didn’t keep promises she made when she left upstate New York. You sort of have to experience this book.

When Lindsay gets back is when everything changes. It is sort of going through the long process again.

The author created some wonderful characters and dialogue. I enjoyed the book and the angst. I do love the angst in any book and this was well thought out with a great plot.

Ryder

Damn, what will tonight bring?  Brayden and I are heading out to a party.  Typically, we start at a party, but end up with one at our place.  Running my fingers through my hair, to spike it.  Yes, I am a panty melting bastard with one simple smile.

“Brayden, you ready?”  I ask, walking into our living room.

“Yea, man.  Suzanne from last weekend is going to meet me there.  Heads up, she’s coming home with me tonight,” he says with an all knowing smirk.

“Why do you give them seconds?  Suzanne is cute and all, but fresh pussy man.  While we are young and free, sample the flavors of life.”  I reply, returning his smirk.

“I have plenty of samples, you man whore, but I am happy to indulge for seconds, or thirds, if the ass is good.  And Suzanne, she’s good.  There is an innocent appeal to her, but she’s a hellcat in bed.”  Brayden says with a wink.

“Hellcat is good, but are you ready to give her more?  Round two can lead to expectations, man.  Think on it before you get tied down.”

We arrive at the party.  Immediately, I’ve scoped the place for my piece of ass for tonight.  I see eight women I’ve recently hooked up with, two of which, have already approached me.  My reputation is that of a one night stand.  Damn, I make it clear in the morning; don’t call me because I won’t be calling you.

Nothing personal, but I have my entire life ahead of me.  One day, I will find someone and settle down.  For now, I want to enjoy myself, sow my wild oats without planting my seed; safe sex always.

Brayden is already in a corner with Suzanne, hand up her shirt, while he is swallowing her face.  They won’t make it back to our place.  He will tap that ass in the bathroom in less than thirty minutes.  She does have that sweet, innocent look to her when she comes up for air.  Poor girl, Brayden will corrupt her and break her heart. Oh well, she’s a consenting adult.  These women and their misconceptions of changing a man make me laugh.

“Hey Ryder,” a chick purrs up against me.  How she knows my name is beyond me, but she’s cute.  Shoulder length dark hair, tan skin, skinny, her boobs are a little small, but I can work with them.  She’s in a green corset looking top, skinny jeans, and fuck me heels.  She will do for tonight.  I’ll take her home and fuck her senseless with nothing on but those shoes.

“Hey sexy,” I croon.  I should ask her name that would be the nice thing to do.  Honestly, her name makes no difference to me.  My name will be the one coming out of her plump lips in less than an hour and that’s what matters.

I wrap my arm around her waist and pull her to me.  Allowing my hand to tickle its way up her back, she’s already pushing up against me further.  Putty in my fucking hands.  I reach under her hair and gently squeeze the back of her neck.  Leaning down, breathing against her ear, I whisper to her.

“Beautiful, how about I take you upstairs and start this party right for you?” I say close enough for her to sense my lips on her skin without actually touching them to her.  I tilt my head enough to brush my lips against that spot behind her ear.  Inhaling, I take in the vanilla scent of her shampoo.

Women, the softer sex, the most beautiful creatures ever created.  From the stick skinny to the plush curves; the blondes, brunettes, red heads, and even the bottled hair of many shades, they are all a work of art.  A woman’s body is a sculpture, a masterpiece that I want to freely roam my hands over every delectable inch.  Women smell better, they look better, the walk better, and the sounds they make are pure seduction, even when they don’t know it.  I’m an equal opportunity fucker.  I want to experience them all.

Lead by the hand, I follow my companion up the stairs to a free bedroom.  I shut and lock the door behind us.  Immediately, I pull her into me and kiss her.  I lace my hands together behind her head, allowing my finger tips to massage her scalp as my tongue begins to caress the inside of her mouth.  She rocks her pelvis into mine.  She wants this, they usually do.  She’s tugging at my shirt.  I break away to remove it.  Her hands now teasing my torso, trepidation suddenly radiating off of her, I pause looking down at her.  Watching her face as she bites her bottom lip, I smile at her.  Waiting for a sign of her intentions, I move my hands from her hand down to her hips.  As I lean in to kiss her again, she’s now moved to my belt buckle.  Kissing her, I work the clasps on the back of her corset.  Freeing her breasts, I drop my head and lick a circle around her nipple and, ever so gently, blow.  She shudders, I laugh as I move her to the bed.

Laying her down, I remove those sexy as sin shoes, as she is unbuttoning her pants.  She slides them off with her panties.  Bare before me, I drink her in.  I slide the heels back on her feet and kiss my way up her legs.  At her core, I use my hands to cup her ass, as she spreads her legs wide for me.  Yes, she wants me.  Scooping her up, I push her pussy to my face.  I lick her folds, her taste sweet and her body shuddering at that first touch.  I lick and suck her clit before moving one of my hands up to insert my finger.  She’s rocking against me, seeking her release.  I can feel it building as her inner muscles are gripping my fingers.  I moan against her, the vibrations sending her over the edge.  I slow my pace, allowing her to recover as she’s whispering my name.

I pull away to remove my pants and put on a condom.  Laying over her, I kiss her neck.  I tease her entrance with the head of my rock hard penis.  I enter her slowly.  She gasps so I still.  She’s tight even for having an orgasm less than five minutes ago.  She moves taking me in deeper, letting me know she’s ready.  Moving in and out, I maintain a steady rhythm.  She’s on the verge again.  I feel the tightening around my dick and the hitch in her breath.  I quicken the pace, working towards my own climax.

I hear her say, “Ryder, say my name.”

I pump faster to reach my release.  At the same moment, I suck on her nipple to send her over with me.  As we lay there, catching our breath, I hear her again.

            “Say my name, Ryder.”

I pull out of her and answer.  “I don’t know your name and I don’t need to know your name.”

Immediately, she jumps up and gets dressed.  I can see the tears on her face.  Rather than deal with the drama, I go to the adjoining bathroom to dispose of the condom and clean up.  If she wanted me to know her name, than that should have been clarified before I put my dick in her pussy.  If she didn’t care to make sure I knew, I’m not going to care to ask.

I know I’m an asshole, but I’m young and free.  One day, a woman will come along and tame me.  One day, a woman will come crashing into my life and change every thought I have about women.  Until then, I’m going to enjoy every second and every curve.

Facebook Jeanie by Addison Westlake @AddisonWestlake #review

It’s Bridget Jones meets Groundhog Day…

Ever wonder if you made the right choice? What if you could go back and find out?
18395481
I am thinking after so many references to Bridgett Jones that I either read the book or watch the movie. I think this book was so cute, adorable, fluffy and when I say LOL at many points, I mean it. There were just so many quirky things about Clara that I loved!  So she is 31 and her love life outside of Facebook is non existent. I laughed so hard at her and her cat and there was a scene in the beginning that cracked me up!

When Jeanie from Facebook shows up at Clara’s job to offer her a beta testing I was totally hooked. When she goes back in time and hears a familiar song from her college days, she knows she is back there.

I cant express enough how funny and refreshing it was to read this. No plot points here but it is worth the ride to find out if going back is the best thing for Clara. Oh by the way I think I would try the reset button. Laugh at the references to television like Friends and of course songs of the 90’s. Perfect chick lit read!

Addison Westlake made her debut as an author at age 13 by rewriting the “Sweet Valley High” series. Despite copyright violations, she maintains that her rendition of Elisabeth and Jessica Wakefield as preteens in a British orphanage is a classic. Between then and now she went to some fancy schools, swapped out the East Coast for the West Coast, and had oodles of kids. Some of her favorite things in life include coffee, Aretha Franklin’s inauguration hat and the sleepwalking scene in “Step Brothers.”

Addison published her first romantic comedy, “Christmas in Wine Country,” in 2012. It won first prize in the single title division of the Romance Writers of America’s 2010 Stilletto Contest and spent six weeks on Amazon’s best seller list.

Addison’s next romantic comedy, “Facebook Jeanie”, is now out in stores!
