Welcome to the South – where the tea is sweet and the accents are sweeter. This Southern way of life is all Charlie has ever known. It’s not until she loses the only person who pushed her to break free of the Southern Belle mold that she starts living the life she needs and not the life her parents forced on her.
Jhett has lived on the edge for as long as he could remember – constantly teetering back and forth between being a rock star and living a normal life. His rebellious and sometimes arrogant attitude is known to get him into trouble, especially with the girls who hang on his every move.
Charlie never thought that a trip to pack up her brother’s apartment would leave her feeling even more unsettled about the grainy details of her brother’s death. Her quest for information leads her straight to his old hangout and into arms of Jhett, who suspiciously knows more about her situation than he ever should.
Only a few questions remain – Can you trust someone based on their word alone? And if you make a promise, how far will you go to keep it?
About The Author
Sarah Ashley Jones was raised in San Diego, California, but currently wrangles her husband and four dogs in Clarksville, Tennessee. When she’s not writing she works in a pottery studio and comes home covered in paint on a daily basis. She has a slightly unhealthy obsession with cupcakes and chapstick. She is an eternal optimist and can often be found dancing and singing to music at any given time. It’s rare to see her not smiling or laughing, but if you do, just bring her a cupcake and it will cheer her up.
Promise Me This is her first novel and is a story that weaseled its way into her heart and wouldn’t leave her alone until she typed it up on the computer. She already is hard at work on ideas for her next book and hopes that the characters never stop coming to her. Her huge imagination was always in overdrive as a child and now she is beyond excited to put it to good use as an adult. She plans to write as long as she has stories that need to be told.

Tangled by Emma Chase @EmmaChse *spotlight debut* @ennbocci @omnificpub
Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multi-million dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?
He’ll tell you he has the flu.
But we all know that’s not really true.
Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything – or anyone – derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.
Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?
Can Drew Evans win at love?
Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

A Romance Book Club by Michelle Hughes @michellehughes_ New Adult Romance Novel by Tears of Crimson Bestselling Author Michelle Hughes
Jessie has given up on men. Her high school turned college sweetheart left her for another man, and if that wasn’t a warning sign that she was meant to be the cat lady, nothing was. Give her a romance novel, a bottle of wine, and her favorite feline companion, and life was perfect in her eyes. I know what you are thinking, so don’t bother. Jessie needs a little kick in the ass to get her life back. The problem is that she is content and is just accepting the title “cat lady”. So she is part of a book club and finally gets the kick she needed. Every month they decide on a theme and lucky for me it is alpha males. One of my favorite authors I admit I am totally a push over for Michelle writing another Rhett character. If you don’t know Rhett, get him here (10 Nights (Forbidden Desires #1)
Jessie learns a lot at her book club. Some good and some bad, but her decision is Chase or no Chase. I guess it is easy for me to say go chase Chase, so waiting it out is tough. “Welcome to my Dungeon.” Those four little words might even tempt a bookworm to step into a world of sensual debauchery. So what really goes on behind the scenes at the Romance Book Club? Step into Sensation’s and discover the answer for yourself. Seriously a little devil is on your should saying read it now!
The characters are really good and definitely likable. More important is Jessie and her struggle to get over being left because her man was gay. I really unique and interesting plot twist! There are two more reveals that add to the mystery of Chase and Jessie. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and I stand by Michelle as being superior in writing not only alpha males but the best BDSM ever! Gobble it up ladies and ask for a second helping of Chase!
From the Author
Writing Romance Book Club was like revealing a long lost secret. It took me back years in time, and reminded me of some incredible people who shaped my life. I hope if nothing else happens, people that read this book get a different perspective on the world of BDSM. One of the things I felt needed to be explored was the side of this that didn’t involve abusive males intent on degrading women. There has been much focus on this recently with popular romance.

A New Adult Romance Novel by Tears of Crimson Bestselling Author Michelle Hughes
Jessie has given up on men. Her high school turned college sweetheart left her for another man, and if that wasn’t a warning sign that she was meant to be the cat lady, nothing was. Give her a romance novel, a bottle of wine, and her favorite feline companion, and life was perfect in her eyes.
When her book club decided to focus on sexy alpha male romances for the month, she had no idea how far the ladies were willing to go in the name of research. Finding herself in Sensation’s Dungeon was certainly not part of her plans, neither was meeting sexy club owner and dungeon Master, Chase Davenport. With a body built for sin, bedroom eyes that promised fantasies guaranteed to lead her straight to hell, the pages of a book suddenly appeared tame.
“Welcome to my Dungeon.” Those four little words might even tempt a bookworm to step into a world of sensual debauchery. So what really goes on behind the scenes at the Romance Book Club? Step into Sensation’s and discover the answer for yourself.

Nothing More, Nothing Less by Ashley Dukart @ashleydukart1
This book reminded me a lot of Shattered Soul by Jennifer Snyder. I liked it and even though the main character is a … dare I say loser? I liked him. I think his circumstances spoke for his outlook on life, bleak, dim, dark, nothing! Brandon is a twenty year old who is addicted to drugs. Brandon has issues and you feel really bad for him, even find him likable He drinks, does drugs and has a lot of sex. His older brother, Ace, twenty-seven, is tough with him while his younger brother, Cole tries to be more mellow. It seems like he has this inner demon and although his brothers want to help they keep going about things the wrong way. He sneaks out, they get him and drag him home. He gets high, they get him and drag him home. They go to sleep, he sneaks out!
Aside from the brothers pulling for him to be good and ride the straight and narrow, here comes Bret. If Bret is not around to drag him back to the demon side there is Vince. Vince lives in a something like “animal house” and has nothing to do but drag guys down and entice them. When Bret and Vince get Brandon to try heroin I was screaming! Every time you think “not in my house” believe me it is very common.
Brandon has been an addict for a long time and there is a part about his Mother that you have to read. I am not giving it away, but it explains his ways. Kristine comes in and maybe she is the ONE to get him back? Can she save him? Can he be redeemed? Mostly, I will say it is a shocking scene, some tough subject matter, but it has to read. I think this is a great first book from someone who I know will have many more.

The Texas Twist by John Vorhaus @TrueFactBarFact
THE TEXAS TWIST follows the (continuing) adventures of world-class con artist Radar Hoverlander and his band of merry misfits as they set out (this time) to answer the pressing question, “What happens when a con man gets conned?” Like all my books, it’s a fast, funny, easy read with engaging characters, plot twists up the wazoon, and lots of interesting made-up words (like wazoon). Here’s a taste:
Vic walked to the others and drew them in close, conspiratorial. “Now look,” he said, “this guy Radar Hoverlander is a little twitchy, right? Off the charts brilliant, but totally paranoid. So be cool with him. He’s taken a lot of heat for his ideas, as you can imagine, and he won’t naturally believe that you trust him.”
“What makes you think we do?” asked Allie, her voice intentionally sounding like honey spiked with bees. The mark, meanwhile, looked on agog — just as he was intended to.
“You’ve seen the prospectus,” said Vic. “You’ve seen the computer models.”
“I once saw a monkey play Mozart,” said Allie. “Doesn’t mean I’m sending it to Juilliard.”
If this sort of sneaky, snarky world appeals to you, I promise you’ll have great fun with THE TEXAS TWIST and/or with the guest blog post or author interview I’ll be happy to provide. Just send up a signal flare and I’ll respond within nanoseconds, by having my publisher send you a review copy (e- or dead tree-) and/or doing that guest post/author interview thingie. Just say, “Boy, howdy, JV, that sounds great,” and we can start making common cause.
THE TEXAS TWIST streets in June from Prospect Park Books. I’m standing by now to meet all of your review/interview/guest post needs at the drop of the merest request. You’ll find more about me, my bona fides, and my twisted history at johnvorhaus.com, and you’ll find the book’s full boilerplate below.
MONEY IS JUST HOW YOU KEEP SCORE
For world-class con artist Radar Hoverlander and his gang of gifted grifters, making money has never been much of a problem. If anything, the game has gotten too good – and taking candy from babies is starting to wear thin. Besides, there are other things to think about. Allie Quinn, Radar’s girlfriend and key con partner, is pregnant, and his quirky sidekick, Vic Mirplo, has decided to write a tell-all exposé about life on the razzle. But “life is what happens while you’re making other plans,” and before they know it, Radar and the crew find themselves defending a cute, sexy neighbor against the advances of a scam artist selling fake medical miracles. It’s when they discover who the scammer’s real target that things take a real turn for the weird.
Readers of The California Roll and The Albuquerque Turkey know what to expect from a Radar Hoverlander adventure: deft prose, rampant laughs, taut plotting, and enough twists and turns to make the head explode. Climb aboard – the double-cross express is about to get underway!

The Albuquerque Turkey
by John Vorhaus
After their last big con netted them a nice chunk of change, Radar Hoverlander and his grifter girlfriend, Allie Quinn, have vowed to go straight. But Radar’s fragile commitment to clean living is put to the test when an oddly hefty lady in red shows up and stalks him through the streets of Santa Fe. Except that’s no lady—it’s Radar’s dad, Woody Hoverlander, a world class con artist in his own right.
Radar correctly figures if his dad is in drag, he must be in trouble. Woody is on the lam, with a Vegas hard guy after him and a large debt to clear. To help him, Radar must break his vow to leave cons behind—and risk losing Allie, who is determined to protect their nest egg and steer clear of bad influences.
The California Roll
by John Vorhaus
What do the Merlin Game, the Penny Skim, the Doolally Snadoodle, and the Afterparty Snuke have in common? They’re all the work of world-class con artist and master bafflegabber Radar Hoverlander. Radar’s been “on the snuke” since childhood, but he’s still looking for his California Roll, the one big scam that’ll set him up in sushi for life.
Trouble arrives in the stunning, sassy package of Allie Quinn—either the last true innocent or a con artist so slick she makes Radar look like a Quaker. Radar’s hapless sidekick, Vic Mirplo, a lovable loser who couldn’t con a kid out of a candy cane, thinks Radar’s being played. But if love is blind, it’s also deaf, dumb and stupid, and before Radar knows it, he’s sucked into a vortex of double-, triple-, quadruple-crosses that’ll either net him his precious California Roll or put him in a hole in the ground.
As timeless as a perpetual-motion machine, as timely as a Madoff arraignment, The California Roll brings you deep inside the world of con artistry, where every fact is fiction and the second liar never has a chance.
I Choose You (Friends & Lovers #2) by Bethany Lopez @tale_of_reviews @BethanyLopez2
Up until now, Nicole’s life has been mapped out for her. She’d go to college, marry Jake and become the upstanding minister’s wife. Poor me I didn’t think arranged marriages went on and especially in Texas. I guess when ministry issues and money rule, they are arranged or do we say anticipated? Either way Nicole has the biggest set of **** and left. YOU go girl! She was not having it! Going to a new beginning she meets Kent. Yes my doll Kent. He is not really resistant but has some lingering feelings about being jilted. An exceptional read (as any lover of Kent would say)
He had a love for his twin sister Roni that was probably the most fierce I have outside of a Kristen Ashley book. If anyone looked, said, or gestured inappropriately he was all over it. Love that in a man.
So this is another home run in my opinion. The cast of characters is great and the fact that there was angst, but bearable angst. After a lifetime of learning to protect his heart, can he finally let down his guard? Oh my read it!

Trust in Me (Friends & Lovers #3) by Bethany Lopez @tale_of_reviews @BethanyLopez2
Roni’s dreams of becoming a contemporary dancer were smashed under the brutal rage of her ex-husband’s fists. WOW! This was by far the best in the series. I am such a fan! That being said, I am so going to rave about this one too! Getting divorced and starting over was not something Roni thought she would do. When she arrived in the last book, I sort of loved her and knew there was depth there. This was a much more emotional read than the others. I thought the plot and the suspense aspect added to the reveal so much that the outcome was fireworks!
Rich, a player with a heart puts all his cash into opening a Rec Center. Now here come the Roni that was hidden under the shell. She turns out to be fun, loving and open. Great character development. Now I know there are so many people I want to see in the next book. Is there a next book? Gosh I hope so. The characters and this small town vibe is too good to waste. PLEASE dont waste it. I want more!
