Beyond the seductive power of immense wealth lies… Dark Secrets
I was so into book 1 and then immediately I started book 2. So I have to report something disturbed me. I went to Goodreads to click that I was reading this book now and I saw some reviews. OMG Why do ignorant people write spoiler reviews. If I wanted to know what happened at the end of the book I would just go to the last chapter. I have to say I am thrilled I didnt see them on book 1 or book 2 until I was done, had I seen them, I would have made a few nasty comments. This author totally rocked my little bubble in Southern California! I would be greatly disappointed if I had not read the books. So for those people who feel like they must label a review as spoiler, just think that the root word is SPOIL and go be an a** somewhere else.
On now to the review
In book one the characters of Lana and Blake are introduced along with Lana’s best friend Billie and Jack. This book has so much more of Billie. I really like her feisty attitude, fashion sense, and most of all her love of vodka! The author definitely gets so much more in depth on Billie and Lana’s friendship. They have a serious bond and when I say it is unbreakable, I mean it.
There are a few revelations here. I am glad I had the time to sit on the beach and devour the book in one day. I will say there is a ton of steam. I am a lover of steam and this book had equal parts of mystery and steam, WOW
The plot twisting goes on throughout the book. There is also a time, for me anyway, when I was just thinking “Who can Lana trust, who can Blake trust” It was unusually good. I urge you to read if this is your genre, then believe me DO NOT move until the series is consumed, loved, and most importantly bragged about. It is one of these books where you must tell your friends to read it. The way I fell in love with Lana and her wholesome heart in book 1 was the way I loved her more in book 2.
The author does the main characters of Blake a Lana a great service by writing superb storylines. The family wealth for one thing was intriguing to me. To think that people DO live like that. I mean they control the news! That is serious stuff.
I loved it so much I even have to share my notes and my Fave QUOTES:
This is the man I belong to heart and soul. Without him I have been an empty shell going through the motions. location 150
‘I know you think I am being foolish, but have you never had someone touch you and you go up in flames? Or that odd sensation as if your bones are melting and your ears ring like bells in your head?’ Location 490
I know whatever he guards so carefully inside must surely be truly precious or ugly beyond words.Location 1482
‘There was a time I used think Arab men were mad to keep their women covered and hidden. Now I know where the need comes from.’ loc 2484
God, I love this man so much it hurts. It actually hurts.

Georgia Le Carre lives in England, in an old 19th century romantic cottage surrounded by a magical garden filled with fruit and walnut trees. When she is not feeding words into her laptop, she is either curled up in bed with a box of chocolates and a good read, or lost in a long walk in the woods. Especially on moonlit nights. And often with the man of her dreams.
