Storm (Ashes and Embers #1) by Carian Cole @CarianCole

Every so often I read a book and it makes me think. It stays with me for a few days and this is IT. I read this so fast! The beginning of the book gives you Storm and Evelyn. In the early stage they are involved in a snow storm (get it) and the situation while scary, is also so friggin funny.

I love Evelyn because she is naive in a very good way. A particular scene that strikes me as hilarious is when Evelyn has to go to the bathroom. She has this mental conversation with herself.

It is windy, cold, snowing and she has heels on. Storm tells her he will carry her. So sweet!! What I saw was the author creating her to be cute and funny, no so bold that it is overkill. She uses words like hussy, which I find adoringly cute.

I wont give any spoilers but I will say that Evelyn is living with her boyfriend for 12 years. enough said right there. Gosh she has her head in the clouds big time.

The Storm story was SAD. A goodie though! but still sad

The plot flowed throughout the book giving you a solid base of characters that will be featured. The fact that Storm is revealed to be in a band, gives the opening for his parents, Grandmother, cousins and brother to be introduced.

Overall this is a fantastic journey for Evelyn. I am dripping with anticipation for book 2.
