Infinite Desire Series: Savannah Series #4 by Danielle Jamie @DanielleJamie85 @ScandalousBlog

Well I if I seem sad it is because I will miss The Knox family. This was by far the best book in the series. We see all of the characters grow up a lot! Gone are the nasty arguments and the tabloid cheating rumors. In place the author gave us some hot scenes and a wedding. Already invested in Kayden and Savannah being together, we move towards their future. The futures of Mya, Braxton, Dixon and Brooklyn all front and center.

To be a included in the bachelorette party was just wonderful!

There are a few things I liked that I am probably alone in commenting on is Envy. I was so happy that Savannah was still working. It shows that there is more to the story than just being rich and then marrying rich. The character development and growth was definitely present here. That was refreshing alone! Also for Brooklyn, she was still doing her soap opera and flying between California and Texas. For me seeing some work ethic in these two characters was important.

Then there is Reagan. He is the best friend and brother figure to Savannah. I dont want to spoil this but I need to give some props to the author. There is a significant scene where he feels like he is left out. I felt so bad for him! He felt alone realizing that Savannah was getting married and sort of wouldnt have time for him. Being still single and carefree was great for him, but he feels like he is losing a few best friends.

PicMonkey CollageTeaserbook4

Then there is my other love Dixon. I really hope I am not alone saying he deserves his own book. Him and Brooklyn are so important to the story’s sub character.

Lastly I loved the suspense. There are a few nail biting chapters. You are all in for a treat. I am so happy to have seen this author grow and show some serious promise. Between book 1 and 4 there was a dramatic difference in the characters and dialogue. I look forward to a lot more from her. Oh and I mentioned before I want more Dixon, his voice needs to be heard.

Only for You by Genna Rulon @Literati_Lit @GennaRulon #review

“In its purest form love is self-sacrificing, eternal, selfless, enduring, truthful, forgiving and indulgent. It also feels an awful lot like a kick to the stomach when you try to fight it!”

So Everleigh Carsen is the main character. She is a senior at Hensley University. She lives with her best friend who she grew up with. It is more of a sister type relationship. Everleigh’s Mom was the housekeeper for Samantha’s parents. So she was the type of mother that was down to earth that everyone loved.

Being they were so close and Sam was fortunate, Everleigh got to tag along and benefited by their friendship. That said she never made Ever feel like she was anything less than an equal. I loved how they both had love and respect for the other.

When there is an uneasy feeling all over campus because girls are being attacked and some sexually assaulted. With this there is tension and Sam takes this very seriously. She makes Everleigh go to a self defense class. The attacks are sporadic and some are worse than others. After a scary attack that hits too close to home the campus of Hensley step things up. They offer in conjunction with a local Jiu Jitsu business, free classes in self defense. Enter Hunter…..steam and sex oooze from his pores. He is an athletic beefcake and there is a great chemistry between the two. Obviously as the self defense instructor he takes this serious. In the first class he clashes with Ever and kicks her out of the class.

The next meeting is better, as they try and repair the damage done in the first class. What I loved was that they were friends. Everleigh liked him and he liked her but nothing happens. He treats her in a sisterly fashion for as long as he can.

There is dialogue between Sam and Everleigh that is so meaningful. Sometimes girls dont get a chance to have that one special friend and Sam was it. I want her for a best friend myself. Then there is the author’s ability to make you fall for Hunter. The running conversations and sarcastic rounds between him and Ever were priceless. Never before has an author made me feel like I was learning something. It was extremely witty and quick. They had these classic , smart, and somewhat hidden innuendos going on. I love Hunter’s character and he will appeal to everyone who reads this. Just the addition of his degree and the fact that he is on his dual matriculation makes the conversations even funnier. Ever being a senior is very intelligent and they are always trying to one up each other. When he explains where he attended before Hensley you will laugh. Not only is he hot, physically fit, a lethal weapon, but her has a master’s degree!

This book will have you at the edge of your seat! It was a twisted tale of the worst kind of attacker. The plot was put together very well. As the attacks became more frequent they become more violent. The author did a superb job of keeping the momentum going. Thinking about a university and this situation what are they supposed to do close classes? shut down the dorms? It makes it all the more real for you to get in touch with young girls who are there for an education not to live in fear.

I was guessing a few times about who was the attacker and why would they do it. When it is revealed. HOLY crap it is a good one! Then you see words like….”book 2″ and it makes you smile from ear to ear.

Indestructible Desire (Savannah #3) by Danielle Jamie @DanielleJamie85 @ScandalousBlog #review

After reading and loving book one. I have been on a Savannah weekend marathon. This is book three and my favorite book. I will explain the reasons why. I loved the book 2 trauma and how in this book the characters were actively seeking mental health counseling. Discussion is by far the most important aspect of healing. If you let it out, you will begin the healing process. Savannah did great and I think I have a crush on Dr. Wilcott. She is brilliant. I commend the author for her character placement and dialogue. This was the part where the stars align, for me anyways!

Plagued with nightmares and the fear that eventually bring me to the stars aligning AGAIN! Kayden visits the Doctor! WOW I so badly want to tell you what happens. It is a huge revelation for Savannah and the epiphany moment for Kayden. His story is out there!

Savannah enjoys her friends and finally tells Brooklyn to get her act together too. I enjoyed Brooklyn with Jax, Dixon and anyone else. She is a player and I loved her. She goes overboard with the comments to Dixon that you must read to understand. OK I will say this: there is a scene when he brings girls back from the club and Brooklyn makes mention of him being a 5 minute man with a tootsie roll sized weenie! LOL I swear there are many more comments to behold. I am a fan of hers!

Overall this had a bit over all the aspects I love in a book. There was romance, sex, love and a lot of fluff!

First as a dog lover, well I loved the book. In the first few chapters learning how Barnum was stricken with cancer was a killer. I recently had to put down my baby Quesadilla and she was 7. I grieved for her and still talk to her everyday. OK I don’t want to discount the loss of Ryan her husband. There is a little issue, that I will point out, she wasn’t in love with him. Yes, she loved him but right before coming home with the melanoma diagnosis she was planning on divorcing him. She lined up her ducks and had a plan. Then he says he has cancer and what else is there to do but support him. I don’t know how ling they were actually happy, but I felt bad for her. She was feeling the loss of a spouse but I think she was dealing with her own feelings of indifference. YES it is sad but there were so many things the authors does to make “light” of the situation. For example in church she should be thinking of Ryan or some part of their time together and yet she thinks “I notice his belly button. I can’t remember every noticing other Christs belly buttons before.” That is why I love Jackie. Who else would think that? OMG I was laughing at his funeral.
Another hysterical part for me was “I’d dig two M & M’s out of the bag each time a new song started. If they were the same color, I got a bonus M & M. Those two or three with the bonus- M & M ‘s had to last the whole song.” I totally loved Jane. I totally hated Barbara, the mother in-law, and sort of dis liked Jeffrey, the father in-law.

dog i love mine your child

Jane drives from Philadelphia back to San Diego with the dead husband and the pet, both in ash form. What happens and where the course changes are really special. This is the time where Jane must evaluate her life, her future, and get Ryan’s ashes to Maui.

dog love my dog happy

These are just a few reasons why I adore Jackie and her writing. No writer has come across with more love for pets than her. I sometimes think I take better care of my dogs than I do my husband, so I related to this. Please if you are a dog lover, read this. It is truly a wonderfully written and enlightening book. The plot, the characters, and the awakenings they all have are to be enjoyed and shared.

Jackie Bouchard (www.jackiebouchard.com) writes Fido-friendly fiction. She used to be trapped in the hamster wheel of corporate America, but she was lucky enough to escape and now fully understands the term “struggling writer.” Jackie loves: reading, writing, and, yes, even ‘rithmetic (seriously, algebra rocks); professional cycling; margaritas; blogging (she never thought she’d say that, but she does); dogs in general, and her crazy rescue pup specifically; and her hubby. (Not in that order.) Jackie dislikes: rude people and writing about herself in the third person. After living in Southern California, then Bermuda, then Canada, then the East coast, Jackie and her husband settled in San Diego. American Jackie, her Canadian hubby, and her Mexican rescue mutt form their own happy little United Nations. Jackie’s novels include “What The Dog Ate” and “Rescue Me, Maybe.”

This is the second book in the Savannah series. It is telling Savannah and Kayden’s relationship as it grows.  If you can imagine, Logan does come back and it is a testing of how close Kayden has become. I liked the hotness between these two. The book was full of passion!

Together Brooklyn and Savannah embark on a move to Galveston. I think this could have been easily accepted had they waited longer than a week or two. I just became bothered by the fact that she up and moved so quick. I wanted them together, so I needed a little longing for one another. Just totally my opinion. I would have invested a lot more sooner had they waited a little. Savannah had no time to heal from Logan and enjoy single life.

I think as a series goes you need to read book 1 and I dare say it was better than this one. In a few rare books do I ever say it was too much sex, but this was the case for me anyways. I thought they need to learn about each other and not more positions. The redemption comes in the last 1/4 of the book. That is where the heart of this story starts. Enjoy it.

This book has many many juicy parts! What an ending!

Blurb

Harper-Marie Groves likes sex…a lot. Too much.

Is she really a slut if she doesn’t promise anyone anything? She doesn’t think so… but everyone else does.

She’s the girl who does what she wants, when she wants to do it. She doesn’t follow the rules, unless they are her own, she never does as she’s told and she never holds her tongue. She’s feisty, mouthy, rebellious…and she loves every second of it.

Mason Brent has never met a girl like her. He craves her, he wants her to be his because he thinks she’s his perfect girl…except that she doesn’t want to be his girl at all.

When she makes him an offer he can’t refuse, she thinks she’s got him exactly where she wants him and has control of the situation……..But she just made Mason’s job a whole lot easier.

Teaser

“Look Mason, like I said, last night and this morning, it was good, really good. But I don’t know what you think is happening here, it’s just sex. I’m not going out ‘for a drive’ with you, I’m not going to have something to eat with you, I’m not going to ‘talk shit’ with you…and I’m not coming back here again. Ever. Ok?”

He stared at me intently again and I held an internal battle over whether I should just leave him to his thoughts, or push him for an answer. I thought that if I just left, didn’t give him chance to answer, maybe I could get out of there before he snapped out of it.

Before I could make my decision, his eyes became focused again but he definitely didn’t do what I expected him to. He stood up, right in front of me, kissed my forehead and spoke in a soft tone.

“If that’s what you want Sunshine, then that’s what you’ll get. I’ll leave my number on the desk, you change your mind, or you just wanna chat for the sake of it, you call me yeah?”

He didn’t wait for me to answer, he just pulled on his loose fitting shorts, no underwear, and left the room. I focused on the door, trying to figure out why he gave up so easily. He seemed so determined before. Strange.

I didn’t spend too long thinking about it though, I pulled on my shoes, grabbed my clutch bag off the desk, then hesitated when I saw the card with his number on, right next to my bag. I knew I wouldn’t call, well, I was fairly sure I wouldn’t. There was no point in taking it…

I took it anyway.

Say Hello to the Author

Names Danielle Breeze, I’m only twenty-three but some days I feel forty!! I’m a single mum to two beautiful young children (makes finding the time to write challenging to say the least!!). Born and raised in Coventry, England – don’t think I’d ever really have the guts to leave here!! I’m a romantic at heart, love a happy ending and I’ve been known to make up my own endings in my head to other books if I didn’t agree with theirs haha!!

I listen to music CONSTANTLY!! Especially when I’m writing. I spend my days tidying up after my kids, making dinner, taking the kids to the park…nothing interesting!! But I like to spend time with my wonderful friends and family, going to concerts, on holidays, out for drinks 🙂 all the usual things!!

I have always read books, magazines…the back of the shampoo bottle…ANYTHING I could, since I’ve been able to form words!! I wanted to write my own books even when I was just a little girl, scribbling little pieces down on scraps of paper, anything to get my ideas out!! I was as at university when I decided I was going to stop wanting to do it, and actually do it!! I have plenty of different works in the pipeline, so I hope you like my stuff .

I am going to start with what I loved. I loved Harp Evans. Her teen years were not normal, and for someone with her issues she was pretty well-rounded. Her mother was the hardest character to read. I won’t giveaway any plot secrets, as there are a few little minor things and then the big bam

holy f shit bth_tumblr_lu75qifnmw1r5hed7o1_250

moment. Growing up in a home where there is sadness is bad enough, but Harp had lived with extreme hate. Her mother did things to abuse her physically and verbally. It was a very bold book in that way.

Her best friend Connor Williams is the great addition to the plot. He feels so bad for her. His parents, especially his Mother are the polar opposites. She seeks refuge in their home and is shocked that she is welcomed with open arms. It seemed to me they were loving, and not doing it to compensate for Harp’s obvious emotional issues. I think they knew something big was going on and they hid it well. She really felt cozy and comfy with them.

Connor hid his feelings for Harp. He never lead on he cared other than acting like a brother. I wanted a little more from his parents. It seemed his mom was on board with them being together but until it happened she said nothing.

I loved the epiphany Harp has when confronted with her mothers true motives of hate. It was a real page turner from that point on.  As I said there was a lot to like and a big thing like Connor to love!
