Did you read book 1? No, well you gotta! This is a concurrent story and that is why I loved it! The story in book one was complete, no cliffhanger, no to be continued, just wrapped up.

I am going to say that I liked book one for some of the twisting and turning that gave way to very unique character flaws. This book was better. First Jason was awesome, so was his flaw/issue and as for Becca’s, well she was better. Want to know a secret? hhmmm she stuters. YES so way out there freakin amazingly different. The families that were portrayed were so real to me. I know that Becca’s family was very complicated, as was her brother Ben. Now Ben is a whole other story! Ben and his girlfriend Kate were a saga that hit home!

There is a lot of meat in this particular book. I am sad that I read some reviews that were not good. It pisses me off actually that people would pick up a book with the cover looking almost too hot to touch and say it was erotic. Really? Was it erotic? NO I will say it was steamy at several points, yes. So dont go out of your comfort zone and branch out to this genre if you are not comfortable with some orgasms and screaming Jason YES, oops got away there for a moment.

It happens to be that Becca, I had so much sympathy for. I felt the angst, emotional pain and family life she had to go through. He situation, like Jason, was VERY unique to me. These two had so many differences but the few commonalities were GREAT!

So, like I said if you are a screamer, then please grab this!

Unexpected is a quick read. It has its steamy moments, so beware. Easily bored? the first 2 chapters will light a fire for sure! The setup was a little quick, but like I said a beach read or a weekend depending on your speed.

Alina was a sweet girl who has had bad luck so I fell for her and I seriously hated the world with her. As for the story, some parts were a bit predictable. I enjoyed the characters. For instance, creating Alina in a way that makes you really feel her pain. When the author adds another element to her already miserable day. You can not help fall in love with her. I think everyone knows the employment situation is not superb so having her battle real relevant to the times issues makes it REAL! So Alina starts at the bottom leading to a bumpy ride back to the top.

A bad job, a roomie that shocks you and a boyfriend who is an idiot. Poor girl! Overall it is a great summer fling sort of novel. I recommend it to chick lit lovers who like a little steam. The author does show a lo of promise and I cant wait for more

We’re reaching critical mass in the city pet department, but they add a lot to our lives, which are really quite regimented. The worlds of accounting and library science couldn’t be more disciplined, organized, or, frankly, dull.

I think Clarissa called to me from the quiet of the stacks. Sitting at my desk, staring blankly down the dim hallways of books, or into the depths of my screen saver, which is a picture of me with my mother, digging in the peat in Ireland, I daydream about meeting my husband back at our house later in the evening. I picture myself going into the house. He’s already at home, and he takes me around the waist with his big hands, pins me against the wall, and reaches up under my skirt.

Maybe it’s the intellectual order of our jobs, binding our libido every day, that makes us give in to our more corporeal urges when we’re alone. At any rate, one daydream leads to another and so Clarissa and her adventures were born. She just took it farther than we ever have!

The commons was designed as a place for officers and elites
to enjoy simple recreation and eat without cause for ridiculous ceremonies,
such as saluting and acknowledging every single rank beneath them. It was also
open all hours of the day to accommodate the various schedules, whereas the
mess hall operated during normal meal times only. As I entered, I found it
packed with all ranks, eyes glued to the TV lowered from the ceiling in the
center of the room. The volume was so high it echoed through the halls. Even
the shower room on the basement level picked up a low murmured hum just above
the buzz of lights when I went to clean up after another workout.

It appeared the news stations had somehow caught wind of the
mysterious happenings there. Strange lights, voices, people in dark vehicles
coming and going at all hours of the day and night. That wasn’t news to me, and
I didn’t want anything else to do with the place. Rarely did the media tell the
truth on what really happens. It was better I ignored the report altogether.

I squeezed and pushed my way to the fridge to pull out a
pimento sandwich and bottle of water then managed to wiggle my way to the
cabinet on the far end for a small bag of chips. Deciding it would be better to
eat in my room, I made my way to the door. Right as I reached it, I realized
the room fell silent. Looking up, I met the eyes of every soul in the crowded
room. They seemed to wait for my reaction.

Then my eyes lifted to the TV, narrowing in on a set of orbs

The desire to ask if I could tag along burned across the tip of my tongue, but I sank my teeth into my bottom lip to keep the words at bay.

When had this happened to me? When had I become one of those girls?

If I thought hard enough—and was completely honest with myself—I could pinpoint when. It happened after returning home from Avalon Bay. Something inside of me changed during that trip, and not for the better. The search for Lexy Bloom—who happened to be the only witch I knew of with the power to rid me of the vile wraith taking up residency inside of me—had gone well. We had found her little shop, Bloom’s Garden, without trouble, and after pleading my case to her, she had agreed to help with minimal resistance. While I had felt horrible once she informed me of the toll performing a spell of this caliber would take on her, the feeling disappeared the second she elaborated on what the spell would cost me.
