But she doesn’t turn the light on. Instead, she shoves the covers aside and crawls into bed next to me. I don’t move because she’s not here for anything more. I’m on top of the comforter, and she’s underneath it. There’s a barrier separating us from doing something I’d later regret. Not that I don’t want to be with her again. She rolls over onto her side, and I’m still sprawled out on my stomach. We’re facing each other, but we don’t say anything. “Will you go somewhere with me tomorrow?” she asks on the verge of sleep, her eyes half closed.

“Where?” I mumble.

Collette West grew up as somewhat of a jock-nerd hybrid. Entering the world three weeks premature, her dad nearly missed her birth because he had seats behind the dugout for a sold-out, highly-anticipated match-up between two of baseball’s biggest rivals. Not to be outdone, her book-loving mom taught her how to read by the time she was three. A love of the game coupled with an appreciation for the written word were instilled in Collette’s impressionable brain from a young age. No wonder her characters believe in the philosophy: sports + romance = a little slice of heaven.

Splitting her time between the Pocono Mountains and Manhattan, Collette indulges her inner fangirl by going to as many games as she can from hockey to baseball and downloading every sports romance novel in existence onto her iPad. Morning after morning, I wake myself up. I don’t have the normal mother or father to tell me to have a good day or make me breakfast. Sure I’m a senior in high school, but I’ve never had that. Even in elementary I took care of myself. My dad was dealing heavy drugs at the time and when he wasn’t dealing he was high or sleeping. Mom had tried several times to stay drug free but wasn’t successful with it. My dad wanted her just like him, destroyed. I have never really known what it was like to have parents that care. They didn’t understand why I hated the life we lived. More times than not they voiced their frustration that I thought I was better than them.

I listened to people talk about how their parents were annoying and watched them like hawks. They had to lie to do things they wanted to do when caring parents would try to provide them a net, so they wouldn’t get hurt, something that was only a dream for me. I yearned for that and knew I was never going to get it. I saw things I shouldn’t have seen but all it did was make me want to strive even more to make it, to get away from it. I was going to make it, and I was going to be nothing like my parents.

My evenings were pretty identical to my mornings. I did my homework, drummed with the band and then made myself something to eat. Mom worked at a hotel in housekeeping and when she was home she was either sleeping or sitting in her room in silence. I don’t know if she knew if I was dead or alive half the time nor would she have cared. Well that’s not true. If I was dead Aunt Ellen wouldn’t be paying our bills.

This is my senior year and all of my friends were going to be hanging out, partying, and having a good time, while I was just going to be living my life. It was a vicious cycle, and I was willing to do it because I knew I would survive it all. I was going to go to college and do the one thing that would piss my parents off the most and I would have full satisfaction in doing just that. It was going to make me happy to put people away that made and sold drugs and destroyed lives just like mine was. edaea-author2bimage2b15

I am a Texas girl, mother of 2 amazing kiddos and married to my gorgeous soulmate for almost 20 years. I have a full time job in the medical field but hope one day to strictly write. I love to spend my free time reading, being outside and playing with my family and 4 fur babies. I am blessed to have very supportive friends and family that make my life worth living! I started to write at the instinct of “hey maybe I can do that!” and here I am. I have enjoyed every step of the journey. She is a temptation he can’t resist …Trey Johnson has appeared in the entire series and is very carefree, yet so loyal to Abigail and Matt it is hard to believe a friendship this strong can exist but it does.

Trey is fantastic!! Loved the continuation of the series. There is NO series cliffhanger so you will enjoy each book completely wrapping up their particular character’s story. This was no exception. Trey was screaming to me throughout the series and his story was very interesting but not as interesting as Victoria. I enjoyed her childhood story and the disconnect in her parents. That story was so deep, I liked it a lot. The appearance of Abigail and Trey made it worthy of a five-star review style is as perfect as it can be. That is, until he meets a girl who captivates his attention by resisting his playful charms.

She is the one girl he isn’t allowed to touch … The way Try makes up reasons to call Victoria is cute. He uses Abigail, Matt, contracts, signatures and Julio to get her into his bed.

Both need to express the feelings they share. WOW what fantastic read! Now I really think Julio needs a life! Just sayin

Then the drama with Olivia. Where do I begin? The obvious humor in her character or the way I knew she was going to get Hendrix? Either way it dont matter much. I liked her and her work ethic. If I worked a bar and gave away more liquor than I should have, over poured, dropped glasses and spilled drinks I would hide and never come out, but not Olivia.

What happens when two worlds collide not once, but twice? WOW

There are so many books I want from this series. I am pleasantly surprised by MJ Fields and I have never read her books. Now I NEED to as soon as I can.
