Holy SHIT people!

Book 2 was just as good as book 1. This novel however, did have some added angst, some more drama, and the dynamic foursome. The plot was really good! Not getting into the background unless the character has his own book is genius. You get the point that these 4 men have great loyalty to one another even if they don’t approve of their profession or their role in the foursome. VERY interesting.

 

You will get a little more involved in why Pax loves Dane but also why they hate each other. No spoilers but when a friend is heated I need to ask = How much do you need to love your friend to let him punch the shit outta you? That is loyalty! Loyalty is what you expect from friends who know the real you. Paxton and Onyx show real loyalty, the meaning of friendship and family.

They will hurt you with the truth all the time. Nobody realizes this more than Laurel! The Riley character had me so up in angst. He was a complete screw up, but she stood beside him even when he did the dumbest thing anyone could do. I want to spill what the dumb thing was but….it was GOOD and it is too good to spoil. You just have to read this and let your jaw drop! The authors did a great job at creating Riley in a way that made you love him. I was thinking he is the dumbest but you have to love way he has faith, yes faith that is so innocent in a refreshing way.

Being this is Paxton’s book you do get more of the growing up background for Pax and some of Dane. The past is what created him, so it is deep. Another really good novel in the Power Chain series. The next one is due out August 7 and it is Dane up at bat. That is going to be huge for me. what I like about Dane is that he is a silent fixer.

Morrison Caldwell, the middle Caldwell brother is the wild card. He is the gambler that surprisingly does know his limits. He has a sort of routine that makes you just adore him. He gets off the plane, goes to a slot machine and then based on a win or lose he plans his night. He is ritualistic which I find to be a new character trait I have never read before. Usually you would think that a gambler would not identify his limits, but Morrison does. wild card 5439

Basically the Caldwell family is featuring a brother in each novel. So for me I am a Jared Caldwell nut, fanatic, stalker and well I do admit to labeling myself as the future Mrs Caldwell. Jared doesnt know it but we are destined to be together. Jared is not part of the three brothers so I am desperate for his novel but next is Jagger. While I loved Morrison for his planning and devious mind when it comes to finance, I want Jagger. Jagger is a serious #WaitingOnWednesday.

Anyways I loved Hailey, the obviously broken girl with a past that is dark. I do love dark and this story killed it! The first few chapters show how this world is just evil. Hailey remains a planner and a few plot twists here have you stuttering for sure, she was so cool. I wont go into some of the plot twist but the one that stands in my mind was towards the end with Monte. WOW I was stunned and don’t want to believe him, but its so realistic that maybe I do.

What do I say about this book first? I cant stop laughing and then, my oh my it was smokin hot.  Bradley Emerson did it for me! He was thrown into taking a girl, Wiska, in to shield her from the press. Bradley doesnt know what the reason is and it takes a long time to find out. So Wiska is an adorable character who has ADD. Another favorable addition to the book is Lionel and  Casey. I know what you are thinking here cause I was screaming OMFG they are in London to guide Wiska. She has so many characteristic that I adored. First she is real and holds nothing back. If Wiska thinks it, she says it.

It is no secret I love the author, her little twitter ninja wont let her down here, so I am singing her praises again. It is not for the easily offended, so beware. My followers will gobble it up. It blend the exact amount of sex, intrigue, drama, tabloids and the gay guys.

After the girls go through their life changes, knowing Jolie has financial security she takes a job with a computer based company. Her boss Mac is exactly like her. Mac is committed to work, computers, and money. He is focused as much as Jolie. When Jolie realizes something is missing, it is quickly revealed it is a baby. When you are a lesbian it is pretty obvious that it cant go the usual route, right?

Favorite sub plot was LUCY! A character named Lucy comes into the story and offers a very crucial price of her wisdom: you can’t change who you fall in love with. She came into Belin’s life at a critical point. Lucy has some great insight so for that alone I loved her! She is so wise for a college student. Just being a friend and room-mate wasnt enough, she was woven into the turning point of the story.

NOW I speak of Jeremy. He is like a rash that don’t go away!

What can you say of a man that knows he is not wanted and keeps coming back for more? I hated him! I ate giving away a plot spoiler but I WAS in heaven when Luciano kicked the crap outta him.

Whatever you think about this type of love, cousins, prima, family, it’s real and it happens. I loved the research done by one of the main characters and it was very innovative. I’m not sure if a character or story in a fictional drama can be innovative, but, that is what I think describes Belin. The author gave her an issue (falling in love with her best friend and cousin, Luciano) and then used a very interesting way to attempt to overcome. Although right now I want to speak of it, I wont because it is that good.

I loved the development, the family bond and the LOVE.

Now for Luciano …Where can you begin? he is so far gone crazy in love with his prima, Belin. His mom and Tia know too. angst faze images (3)
When Luciano, in a flashback, tells a deep family secret, I was ready to lose my cool. The author always brings out these emotions for me. Luciano was SO strong for me, he showed that there was a line in the sand he could not ever cross.

Ever since he can remember the desire was there. All before he was even a teen. He’s always been  in love with Belin. I know that this taboo love is the draw for me. I know that going in and I read the book in a day. It is going to stay with me for a long time.
