Favorite sub plot was LUCY! A character named Lucy comes into the story and offers a very crucial price of her wisdom: you can’t change who you fall in love with. She came into Belin’s life at a critical point. Lucy has some great insight so for that alone I loved her! She is so wise for a college student. Just being a friend and room-mate wasnt enough, she was woven into the turning point of the story.

NOW I speak of Jeremy. He is like a rash that don’t go away!

What can you say of a man that knows he is not wanted and keeps coming back for more? I hated him! I ate giving away a plot spoiler but I WAS in heaven when Luciano kicked the crap outta him.

Whatever you think about this type of love, cousins, prima, family, it’s real and it happens. I loved the research done by one of the main characters and it was very innovative. I’m not sure if a character or story in a fictional drama can be innovative, but, that is what I think describes Belin. The author gave her an issue (falling in love with her best friend and cousin, Luciano) and then used a very interesting way to attempt to overcome. Although right now I want to speak of it, I wont because it is that good.

I loved the development, the family bond and the LOVE.

Now for Luciano …Where can you begin? he is so far gone crazy in love with his prima, Belin. His mom and Tia know too. angst faze images (3)
When Luciano, in a flashback, tells a deep family secret, I was ready to lose my cool. The author always brings out these emotions for me. Luciano was SO strong for me, he showed that there was a line in the sand he could not ever cross.

Ever since he can remember the desire was there. All before he was even a teen. He’s always been  in love with Belin. I know that this taboo love is the draw for me. I know that going in and I read the book in a day. It is going to stay with me for a long time.

Maddox slowed the boat, killed the engine, and then lowered the anchor. At least a mile off, the shore was a mosaic of green mountains and white buildings below. Puffs of clouds drifted over Santa Lucina, but out here, only the barest wisps hovered in the brilliant blue sky. Baylie leaned back on her seat, a smile on her face, while her dog just eyed the water as though trying to figure out how the demented humans could possibly think this was a good idea.
“So…” Noah started. “Anyone want to go for a swim?”

“What the hell?” Maddox cried as the rest of us grabbed at the guardrails.
“Did we hit something?” Noah asked, scanning the water.
Maddox shook his head. “I don’t–”
The ocean around the boat began to bubble and roil.
Noah swore. “Get us out of here!” he called to Maddox.
His brother didn’t need the encouragement. Quickly, he scrambled back toward the driver’s seat and turned the key in the ignition.
The engine wouldn’t respond.
Shudders shook the boat, while all around, the ocean’s surface began to foam like the calm sea had suddenly become a boiling pot on a stove. Waves surged from every direction at once, growing more violent by the second, and on all sides the water darkened, as though a shadow was spreading below us.
“What’s happening?” Baylie cried.
No one could answer. As if shoved from beneath, the deck tipped up at a sharp angle and then just as quickly rocked back, wrenching us hard as we fought to hang onto the guardrails. The lurching came again, throwing us forward and back.
My grip broke. The metal rail hit me, knocking the air from my lungs.

splatters against my cheek, dripping down my neck.

I don’t bother to wipe at it, swinging my arm as my elbow connects with the
other side of his face. My mind is always calculating, like a computer,
spitting out information as I duck another punch. The man in front of me is
large, almost twice as wide as me, and just as deadly.

Height: 6’3.

Weight: 215 pounds.

Arms like steel.   

He grabs my hair, yanking my head back as his other arm connects with my left
side. I grunt in pain, swallowing the scream that’s about to burst free. I slam
my elbow into his stomach, twisting under his arm in the same motion. My knee
connects with his manhood, before my fist connects with his jaw once more.

My moves are precise.

Practiced.

Lethal.

“Son of a—” I round kick him in the face before he can finish. He
drops to the ground with a thud, and before he could stumble to his knees, my
foot slams into his face, dropping him for good.

“That’s no language to use around a lady.” I say, looking down at
him, making sure he stays down. When I’m satisfied he’s out, I grab my bag and
run.

I should’ve been more careful sneaking in, but I memorized the schedule and
there shouldn’t have been anyone here. The warehouse sits against the backdrop
of an abandoned neighborhood, so when my feet hit the payment, there is no one
to see me escape. I almost stop and go back to finish the job, but I don’t.
He’s not worth the guilt I would carry if I kill him. He’s not the one I’m

I got what I came for, even though it took me a few more minutes than I planned
on. He didn’t see my face, but he sure will have himself a headache tomorrow.
Strangely, I feel rejuvenated after the fight, and I grin as I run down the

This was  a great military special operations book. The best is the characters and the fact that I can see this going on for a while. First is Bobby Baker, the sweetheart who left for the service and in his absence Annabelle (Belle) is lost. She knows they have plans to marry when he is out so when she gets a devastating letter from Bobby’s mom she takes off. She is at her lowest point, well I was too. I mean a few weeks in, he send her a letter saying they are done. I wanted to go find his ass and beat him with a stick myself. Poor Belle is abused by her Dad, has no place to go and now nobody to depend on but her best friend Teagan. That is really how you know the authors are good. I mean if they can get me to wanna hurt Bobby, they did their job and now he has to work it to redeem himself. Does he? well read it!

It is one of those rough and tough groups. The unit is consisting of Jaxon the leader and a man I lust after! He has special powers and I think I want to take him for a ride. Then there is Declan and Riley, they play small roles, but each have mentions of what I know will be a fascinating story.

When Belle’s best friend Teagan comes back to town she is introduced in a very guarded way. I know that I smell mystery and a big defense mechanism from her.  I cant wait to learn more. She is as hot as Belle. I loved it! A big sweet treat is when a woman does things better, faster, and hotter than a guy. Who can resist ? not me

What I wanted was a little of Bobby’s parents. I felt like they were not mentioned and there are events that I wanted to see them at. Now in the midst of the novel it gets really dark. There is a set-up, a sting, gun runners, human trafficking and a bad Mexican gang. So if you like this type of book I know you will love it like I did.

I was doing the happy dance when I saw that book 2 was due out in the spring. I will, in the mean time, keep my fingers crossed that everyone grabs this and prepares for book 2. Bring on Jaxon and Riley!

These authors are great and I am a fan of them both so I wanted to see if I could tell who wrote what, and I think, being the super-fan I am, can tell who wrote what parts. The MC genre needed a different take on things, and this one delivers. The Regulator MC is not typical n the genre, they are an elite group. I wont say what they do or their purpose, but it is different.

The main character Morgan give me a lot to look forward to. I know her and her sisters have staying power. Now moving on to Brett “Ice” Grady well he is a military man who has a great story.

Dont miss his past, it is too good. His Mom and his daughter are written in a way making them perfect compliments that give his story more meaning.

moving on fsWX1rxp0iwo1_500 Along with Ice we meet a few players like Coal and Hammer. I clearly know Jessie Lane is behind these guys. She writes special ops and military men so well. There is a part of Coal that I love. He is dark and dangerous so I want more of him. I HATE spoilers so I will only say Chapter 18 was the best in the book. It was super dark and gritty and I am a fan of dark and gritty.

When the friendship between Ice’s daughter Brooke and Morgan’s sister Madyson is the set up for the meeting between the two. Yes there is a love underneath both of the main characters but the story of the Cuban mafia lord Sandoval was what got me totally hooked. I loved how Chelsea wrote a mob story in her MC books so this was a treat.

As for the sub plot characters, there is drama in Morgan’s family sweettreatstree. Gosh shake that tree and make them rotten apples fall of.  Morgan her sister Madyson and Mallory  was raised to be perfect, to say that the only one who lives up to the standards is Morgan.

Two worlds do collide in a very interesting way. Fans of MC books, contemporary romance and romantic suspense will enjoy this one. I say it is a must read!
