Day of Review 1

Day since I completed mission: 1

Days I will dream of Mr. Canon: infinity

This book was a great blend of intelligent humor, office shenanigans and love. Emma Baker cracks me up. I totally embraced her character from page one. She never spoke to Mr Canon but was in love with him from their first encounter
dreaming
As for the brilliant plot:
There is an office pool with bets placed on the new Canon PA and how long they last. She has a manager friend Rebecca who eventually convinces her to just fill in a day or two, then he has a business trip. So Rebecca offers a raise and begs until Emma agrees.
personal assist
She knows his work, his schedule, his likes and is basically the perfect PA.

The office is complete with Madeline and Bert who live and die by the office pool. As for Emma she is a gem! Her room mate and savior Clara is almost as funny. She is the girl who prepares everything, is nosy, loves you to death, and your best friend. The characters were easy to like. The book flowed well, and I had an ARC, so I know the complete package is going to blow people away.
pineapple 2
Mr. Cannon was so different. He said little when he spoke. He had no times for games. He was all about work. He was told(**wink) that he needs to eat pineapples! Best part of the book! Does Emma reach the goal? Emma has a plan, but even with her military covert operation planned to the nearest second, does it work? I say read it now and you wont regret it. It is loaded with juicy scenes, office humor, a main character you will love, and Mr Canon!

Picture Perfect (Limelight, #2) by Elisabeth Grace @1elisabethgrace #review

Being the daughter of a big-city mayor, twenty-one year old Skye Summers has giant shoes to fill in her first real job out of college. In book 1 (snarky attitude here; read it, I hate when they say it is a stand a lone, yes it is but why miss it?) We get a glimpse of  Skye and her boyfriend. We sort of get the clue he is controlling, but this books clears all that up. The author shows a controlling, ego driven man. Vic is just a tad short of being abusive physically towards Skye. It doesn’t go too deep into it until he resurfaces.

This book shows the old characters from book 1 and how they have progressed. I loved Skye and how politically savvy she is. He parents have expectations of her and she tries to live up to it. One thing I will say is that I ordinarily would hate her Dad and his senate race, but…I loved him. He was not at all the person I thought he would be. He has unconditional love for his daughter and doesn’t even stutter when she makes a small error. I expected ted him to disown her or act out, but no he didn’t, so I wanted to hug him. Kudos for another great character acting outside the box.

clapping (1) With Skye having this almost one nighter and then discovering who it is, the author does it again for me. I was blown away by that! She forms a great relationship with Landon and Skye. So both of them unique to me because they are not who they seem to be on the surface. The plot was another shock to me. It was great and YES another one you MUST READ NOW

Welcome! I’m Elisabeth Grace, or El if you prefer, and I write New Adult Contemporary Romance.
I’d been an avid reader my entire life, but when I discovered romance novels during my first pregnancy I was hooked! Not sure if it was the hormones or the lack of a life that was headed my way once my daughter was born, but since then I’ve been devouring several romance books a week. I love nothing more than reading about some serious alpha males and a happily ever after.
Things you should know about me…
I live outside Toronto, Canada…eh. (Yes, it’s true. We Canadians say ‘eh’ A LOT.)
I’m a wife and mommy to two small children which I refer to as Little Miss and Mr. Magoo.
I own one cat spawned by the devil. Seriously. He’s as cute as they come but you’ve never met a meaner feline. In retrospect we should have named him, Lucifer. I have the scars to prove it.
I believe there’s no such thing as too much chocolate. Or popcorn. Or bread. Or potatoes. Yes, you guessed it…I’m a sugar and carb addict.
I hate running. Always have, always will. Unless David Gandy’s in the vicinity you won’t find me doing it. Ever. Not sure who David Gandy is and think you might want to become a Gandy Girl like me? Google him. You can thank me later.
I’m a LOVER of all music. The 1200+ songs on my IPod can attest to the variety of my musical tastes. Hubby and I try to travel to a different music festival every year and are regular concert goers.
My name is Elisabeth and I like reality TV. There I admitted it and that’s the first step, right? Yes, I’m a writer and I see the need for scripted shows, but sometimes there’s just something so entertaining about watching one Real Housewife lose it on another one. I could listen to Cochran’s diatribe on his fellow castaways for hours.
Of the four of us that make up my family, three of us are Leo’s. Let’s say it together…DRAMA!
I may be the world’s worst cook. My poor children. Unless Daddy’s cooking they know not to expect much.
I write every night after my kids are in bed until the wee hours of the morning. This wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that I have always been an early-bird-catches-the-worm kind-of girl, so 5:00am comes early. Sleep is over-rated, I say.
If you are a lover of romance novels, steamy bedroom scenes and alpha males than you may enjoy my stories! 🙂

All publicity is good publicity, right? Unless you’re recent college grad Ellie Wagner and an embarrassing video of you and your boyfriend goes viral. Makes you laugh just reading that! I loved Ellie, she was cute, smart, subtle and had an issue that is oh so trendy. The author keeps you guessing as to the contents of the viral video. Hold on and enjoy the angst of waiting like I did. The story and characters were so good here. I loved how Ellie had to live with her Mom because of the economy, which is another trending issue, so it being so relevant to today I found it even more appealing

There are a lot of steamy scenes, so for that I am bowing at Elisabeth Grace’s feet!

Ellie’s Mom and her husband of the moment are light and fluffy. As for the plot along with Mason Nash, I found it to be perfect. When Ellie does not recognize Mason it makes it even more special. This is the part where the author lets her fall for  Mason without knowing who he is. The back story for him is GREAT! I loved it.

thumbs up

PLEASE read this series it is great fun, romance, chick lit and a wonderfully plotted out story. So good it is already a series. The sub characters get their own books Yippee! Something big to look forward to

Unfortunately, she can’t run away from the boundless pain as she struggles to make sense of the life she thought she knew – until she meets Cade.

Tattooed engineer by day, lead singer in a rock band at night, Cade has experienced his own brand of pain with the loss of his college sweetheart. He and Mattie instantly bond over their mutual heartbreak, and as their friendship deepens, it ignites a new flame within Mattie, soothing the constant heartache for her former fiancée.

Just when Mattie thinks she may have found another stab at happiness, Jeremy reenters her life, and with him, all the crushing memories. It’s soon clear, though, that the trauma from her past may not be quite what it first seemed. Will the truth bring closure and a new beginning – or will it mean the end of both relationships forever?

I have always been a voracious reader. After hitting a dry spell of reading material, I decided to write the kind of book I would like to read. This resulted in the creation of my debut novel, Intentional.
I am currently working on a sequel based on the life of one of Intentional’s supporting characters.
When I’m not writing novels, I enjoy traveling the world, rain, watching movies and reading (!)
I also run my own business in my current hometown of Mercer Island, Washington.

All publicity is good publicity, right? Unless you’re recent college grad Ellie Wagner and an embarrassing video of you and your boyfriend goes viral. Every man in your life abandons you, but who knew a one-minute clip of your latest doomed relationship would brand you a slut, prevent you from getting your perfect job, and force you to keep doing the one thing you swore you’d never do again…live with your mother.

But staying with mom and her latest boy-toy (is this husband number four or five?) until your life turns around might not be all bad. Especially when you fall – literally – at the feet of a sexy, green-eyed stranger who offers you freedom and a life of luxury on a gold-rimmed platter.

There’s only one little problem – the man of your dreams is none other than Mason Nash, the latest hip-hop star busting up the music charts. Fame and fortune are his calling cards and he’s vying to steal the show on a new reality TV series that will catapult him into mainstream stardom. Hello spotlight.

The man behind the famous persona is perfect for Ellie in every way, but can she overcome the ugly pitfalls that come with Mason’s celebrity status? Or will she be forced to choose between the man she loves and the independent life she longs for? After all, fame and fortune aren’t always what they seem and not all publicity is good publicity…

Review

I read the first two book and immediately started this one. What can I say about the characters and the growth they all took on here? It is true! I think that the addition of Billie as more of a main character along with Marcus. There is such a deep story here and I will NOT spoil any of it. This book truly is amazing. I goes deeper into the sub characters, which I loved.

Lana and Billie continue to be my little buddies. They are so tight and that is something I enjoy reading about. They have a dialogue where they are honest with each other, which is refreshing when there are so many lies surrounding them. The family ties Blake deals with just show how strong he is and his character holds so many lies inside that make him even more complex. What I really loved was how a reveal would happen and then it would be uncovered that Blake knew whatever secret was there and was instrumental in the reveal.

The Lana and Blake story gets better and better believe me this is a true MUST read! The plot is even more intriguing than the others. I dont know how she did it but WOW. I sound like a babbling idiot now so PLEASE read it

Excerpt

‘What about BDSM? Are you going to teach me something about that?’

He looks at me over the rim of his glass. ‘Why? Are you interested in being a submissive?’

‘I don’t know. I could be. What is it?’

‘It’s a game.’

‘I like games. Start me off and I’ll tell you if I like it.’

He stops smiling, his eyes change, darken. Very deliberately he pushes his glass of orange juice to the middle of the table, reaches for the carton of milk and holding it right in front of him, slowly tips it sideways until the milk in it pours onto the table. I watch the puddle grow on the table. At some point well before the carton is empty he stops pouring. I lift my eyes from the spill and look at him. His eyes are expressionless, watchful. The silence stretches. I break it. ‘Well?’

‘Clean it up,’ he says.

‘What?’

‘I don’t need to repeat myself, do I? It is a punishable offense.’

For a moment I feel confused. Was this the thing that has everybody hot up the collar? Do I want to be his little slave? The answer is obvious and immediate. I don’t. Definitely not. But I’ll let it play a little more and see where this little game goes. I turn towards the paper towels.

‘Not with the paper towel.’ His voice cracks like a whip.

I turn towards him slowly. Our eyes clash, a look of impatience about his. What does he want me to do? Clean the table with my tongue? The thought is unsexy, off-putting. ‘With what, then?’

He leans back and folds his arms across his chest. ‘With your sex.’

And suddenly I am wet. The idea is shocking but incredibly, unbelievably erotic. I hook my thumbs into the scrap of white lace around my hips, push it all the way down and step out of it.

‘Give them to me.’

I bend down to retrieve them and walk towards him. I look into his eyes as I drop my bunched up knickers into his outstretched hand. He puts them into his trouser pocket.

I hop onto the table with my legs apart so he can see what I am doing, I bend forward and flattening my thighs, slowly drag my sex across the liquid. Something flashes in his eyes. The milk is cold on my warm skin. When I have swept myself across the spill I stop and look to him.

He nods slowly. ‘You,’ he says, and there is a touch of admiration in his voice, ‘are an excellent pupil. You never do more than what you are instructed to do.’

I say nothing. Just hold myself in that position.

‘Now spread your legs,’ he orders.

About the Author

Georgia Le Carre lives in England, in an old 19th century romantic cottage surrounded by a magical garden filled with fruit and walnut trees. When she is not feeding words into her laptop, she is either curled up in bed with a box of chocolates and a good read, or lost in a long walk in the woods. Especially on moonlit nights. And often with the man of her dreams.

EXCERPT
White light surrounded her and rushing air roared in her
ears. Distantly, she heard Lily screaming. And then something soft crushed into
her.
Gasping, Ashley sat up. She was in the vegetable garden,
Lily clutching her hand. Frantically, she scrambled to her feet, searching for
her father.
Masked men surrounded him.
With a cry, she tried to run to him. Lily hauled on her arm,
holding her back with terror in her eyes.
Through the circle, another man approached. Amid the ski
masks and rifles, his business suit and uncovered face stood in sharp contrast.
Firelight played off his dark hair, turning his eyes into shadowed pits and
chiseling his face in strange relief. Several inches taller than anyone around
him, he towered like a giant over her father on the ground.
In spite of everything, Patrick tried to stand. Fury surged
past the pain on his face, and his hand rose as if to strike the man.
The giant scoffed, and his fingers twitched as though
flicking away a fly. Patrick gasped. His back arched sharply. And then he
crashed to the ground and didn’t move again.
Ashley couldn’t breathe.
This wasn’t happening.
A smile curled the giant’s mouth as he looked toward the girls
in the vegetable garden.
“Get them,” he ordered.
Like unleashed hunting dogs, the men charged.
The sight shattered her paralysis. Ripping her gaze from her
father, Ashley spun. Yanking Lily behind her, she tore across the tilled soil,
choking back a sob as the soft earth sucked at her feet, slowing her down.
She reached the edge of the garden and took off across the
field with no idea of where to go. Lily clung to her, and she could hear the
girl crying. Thelma’s house was an eternity away, and she couldn’t see the
woman’s porch light. The farmhands’ house was dark. No one had emerged this
whole time.
Tears burned her eyes.
She kept running.
Headlights surged over the rise at the edge of the property.
With a shriek, Ashley tried to turn, her feet sliding from beneath her on the
grass. Lily slammed into her and frantically, Ashley grabbed the girl and
shoved her to the side.
Lily rolled away.
Ashley didn’t have time to move.
The car roared straight at her.

The war isn’t over. And new enemies await.

Life on the
run hasn’t been easy, but so far, Ashe has survived. But now Carter has ordered
her away from the Hunters to find her family’s people – an order she can’t
refuse, no matter how much she wants to stay.

Following his command will bring her into an unknown world, however – a
world filled with new enemies and old prejudices that will demand more of her
than she can imagine, at a cost higher than she’ll ever be willing to pay.

Taliesin Ascendant is equally as pulse-pounding as The
Children and the Blood. I felt there was fantastic character development
combined with the spine-tingling suspense and action. Oh, all the intrigue!

Things unfold but you still know there’s more to the story
that you don’t know. It’s very unique writing and an absolute high speed,
action packed adventure that you’re traveling on with the main characters

Title: Merlin’s Children

The stakes of the war have never
been higher.
But what will be the cost to win?

Ashe knows loss, knows sacrifice and pain. Her allies are scattered and
too many lie dead. The Blood are stronger than ever and more connected than she
could have imagined.
But the worst is yet to come. The war has taken so many people she loves.

Now it just might take everyone who’s left.

This final book in the trilogy was every bit as
thrilling as the first two. I was so tense – flying through the pages to learn
who would survive, who would betray whom, which characters would finally put
their trust in the right people. It was nail-biting suspense.

Determined to move on with her life, Olivia Germaine has vowed to forget David Dylan. Once again poor Liv is faced with the exact thing David is, keep the promise and stay away. Being I feel that Liv is not for Bill as well as Bill not for her, I say go get David. I really had no issue with her cheating because Bill was just like a blob. She loved him yes but he was just so difficult and controlling. What the author does here is create a person who is struggling to keep her marriage together. She wants to believe in her vows. I get it and yes she tried to do it but there comes a time when you just gotta walk away.

A few years into their marriage it just seems like he is progressing with very female goals. He wants the house, the stay at home wife and a baby. Over and over Liv tells him no. She says it directly, subtly and nasty, and ya know what? Bill doesn’t get it. What man would actually stand for it? I don’t know but this fool got under my skin.

The friends are there for Liv ass much as she will let them be. I was disappointed at the way they treated her. She was depressed, lost and almost malnourished and not one of them including the fool she married did anything to help. Sometimes it was killing me to go on and read more. I wanted someone to sit down and talk to her without judgement. She did that for Lucy and Gretchen and I thought they owed her.

My Olivia

She lives a very sad existence for almost four months. It broke my heart that she fell in love with David and self tortured herself. When she was with Bill it was him forcing his ideal and delusional family dreams on her. When she was with David she could see the house, the fence and the toddlers in the yard. Olivia is not to be painted as a bad person. I wanted her to be with David. There are times when the marriage is bad and instead of getting the clues one spouse wanders. There is nothing you can do when you find someone who puts you under a spell. I felt David was the one for Liv and I couldn’t stand how she spoke of Bill.

Meet my David

One part I must bring up not giving any secrets away, but Lucy’s wedding. You see how the girls are thrilled for her and Olivia is the elephant in the room. Did she ever feel that draw for Bill? Did she ever experience tender sweet love making with him? NO it is in every page! She never felt complete with him and just went along for the ride. OK wrong but what was done was done. I mean him asking about starting a family and being told so many times she was not ready was hard to read. What man does that? I wanted to yell and ask him if he was a man. The author did great here because she created a character that even in book 2 I want to smack into next week, tie up and pinch him and then kick him in the nuts if there is any!

My Bill

Yes he sucks his thumb!

It is a must read and I will say that through the entire book I worried Olivia would crack up. I was so scared at times I couldn’t even read it. I thought over and over she was going to kill herself. That was a fear through every chapter. I am so happy that there is a book 3 and I cant wait to read it.
