The Temptation of Lila and Ethan by Jessica Sorensen @jessFallenStar #excerpt

On the surface, Lila Summers is flawless: good looks, expensive clothes, and a big, beautiful smile. But a dark past and even darker secrets are threatening to bubble over her perfect façade. She’ll do anything to keep the emptiness inside hidden-which leads her into situations that always end badly. Whenever she hits bottom, there’s only one person who’s there to pull her out: Ethan Gregory.

Ethan set the rules a long time ago: he and Lila are just friends. He doesn’t do relationships. Although his tattooed, bad boy exterior is a far cry from Lila’s pretty princess image, Ethan can’t deny they have a deeper connection than he’s used to. If he’s not careful, he could be in serious danger of becoming attached-and he’s learned the hard way that attachment only leads to heartbreak.

When Lila falls farther than she ever has before, can Ethan continue to help as a friend? Or is he also getting close to falling . . . for her

The New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Jessica Sorensen, lives in the snowy mountains of Wyoming. When she’s not writing, she spends her time reading and hanging out with her family.

“Why do you think it’s so hard to be alone?” Lila asks, struggling to keep her eyes open as she gazes out at the night sky through the cab window.

I’m turned sideways in the seat, with my knee up, so I’m facing her, even though she won’t look at me. I lost count of how many shots we had hours ago and I can barely comprehend

how we got to a cab—stumbling, laughing, as she rubbed her hand up the front of my jeans. No, that can’t be right, can it?

“I think being alone is fan-fucking-tastic. . . well, maybe . . .sometimes . . .” I mumble, draping my arm on the back of the seat. I stare at her for a moment, taking in her bare skin in the

moonlight. I want to touch it. Lick it. Even bite it.

I’m bursting with sexual energy and I channel it to my foot on the floor, bouncing my knee. There’s something different about tonight, something out of the ordinary, this strange need

to keep getting closer to Lila. It could be the alcohol. Or it could be something else, but there’s no way my tequila-soaked mind is going to reach any sort of answer.

Lila turns her head toward me, her pupils wide and shiny. “Why are you staring at me like that?”

I keep tapping my foot on the floor, trying to think of a better answer than the first one that pops into my head, but I can’t find one. “Because I’m thinking about you.”

She glances at the cab driver, a thirtyish guy wearing a baseball cap, and then her gaze lands back on me. She sucks her lip into her teeth and I have to bounce my knee faster or I swear I’m going to fucking lose it. “Thinking what about me?” she asks, looking wary, interested, and exhausted.

Don’t say it . . . “I was thinking about what it would be like to lick you . . . or bite you . . . either one really.” It seems like I should regret it as soon as I say it, but regret is nowhere in my

reach at the moment.

Her breathing quickens and her voice comes out shockingly unsteady for someone who has sex so much. “Then do it.”

I blink, wondering if I heard her right through the massive amount of alcohol consuming my thoughts. “What?”

She holds my gaze steadily, even though she seems really nervous, her voice trembling. “Then bite me. Or lick me…whatever you want.”

It Ain’t Easy Being Jazzy by Quanie Miller @QuanieMiller #review @ladyreaderstuff

If you love chick lit this is for you. I can say this is a romantic comedy at a high point. Truly funny Jazzy wants to reunite with Curtis, who is an ex boyfriend. It is sort of funny how I got totally excited when Curtis tells her he had news”that he needs to share. I was like oh my maybe they will get back together. NO and I am not giving spoilers but he is with her cousin Mercedes who she hates, and I in turn hate too!

The funniest part was when Jazzy meets Reggie and figures he can be her escape. If she had Reggie with her then Mercedes and her engagement wont hurt too much. She thinks maybe this big old family dinner may even be pleasant with Reggie as a distraction. It makes everyone think she is taken. It seems like a great plan in the beginning. Right away things happen causing me to really laugh too hard!

Take a trip with this hysterical family. I loved Jazzy, her family is crazy and I can totally see this as a series. Authors like Quanie Miller provide us with a true escape. Sometimes books like Jazzy come along and you should tell a friend! READ IT Things are really not “easy” being Jazzy!

Publication Date: October 20, 2013

Some people are blessed to find that one certain person who completes them.

Wrynn’s yesterdays were what others only dream of having. She and Tripp were the best of friends before they even thought about love. They had the fairy tale life where ‘like’ turns into ‘love’, and ‘love’ becomes ‘happily ever after’.

What happens when life conspires against you, and snatches your soul mate from your arms?

…only her forever love ended much too soon.

Broken beyond her own ability to repair, Wrynn boxes up her grief and attempts to raise her three girls the best she can on her own. As time slowly passes, Wrynn relives her life with Tripp while struggling most days to get out of bed. She is reminded of him at every turn.

How do you set your grief and anguish aside? How do you pick up the shattered pieces, put those pieces back together again, and try to move on?

Wrynn tries to find the joy in life every single day through her daughters, family, and friends. Her twin brother Liam has dedicated himself to helping Wrynn put her life back together after losing his own love. On the other hand, her mother-in-law lives to torment her at every turn. Beat of the Heart (Runaway Train #2)

by Katie Ashley

Book 1 Runaway Train: Music of the Heart MUST be read. I know it can be a standalone, but dont be cheated.

Obviously this is book 2 in what I hope to be a long series. I really enjoyed book but but this one totally rocked my little kindle world. I fell in love with AJ and his ways. He was the a graceful screw up. He know immediately he is into Mia. When Frank gets sick and has to go to the hospital he meets the cardiac nurse. Mia quickly becomes a angel to him . Mia Martinelli is a great character with a strong family bond. That is what I loved about these two, they loved and most importantly respected their families.

This is a great love story. What I really liked was Dee the over zealous,  obnoxious, and loving BFF to Mia who was also a nurse. He loved Mia so much and he saw exactly when she needed to be held, yelled at, or loved. Mia’s Dad an ex football player was the same way.

There was a scene where they go to Mexico and both complain about sleeping apart. I loved how his Abuela upheld her strong Catholic belief.

I won’t lie the level of angst was pretty high a few times. I guess that is the way you know the author did a great job! I was involved with all of them and I can not wait for more. I really dont want this series to end. I think Katie will be happy that this tour has proven AJ a winner and a sex GOD! Latin Lover, AJ Resendiz is to swoon like milk is to a cookie! Mia is bold, stubborn and Italian like me. There is a lot of naughty words in Italian too. So I must add it to the “Read It NOW” group!

PRAISE

“Very well written, intriguing story line and curiously developed characters. I enjoyed the complexities as much as the intellectuality. Refreshing take on the genre.”

Jenn S. GoodReads, NetGalley

“…we enter an intricate web of political intrigue, mixed with time travel, Nazi treasures, and even magic.
The author sets the stage of the Nethertwain with some skill, crafts his long list of characters to battle and keeps the action moving from page to page.”

Vicki McKeehan, Author of The Bones of Others, GoodReads

“McGonall has created a world with complex politics and imaginative magick that even includes time travel, the Pope and Nazi treasures…a very powerful and stimulating read and rewarding with its intellectual depth and well-constructed foundations. McGonall’s command of language is superb…”

Christoph Fischer, Amazon top 1000 Reviewer

“… woven with such intricate detail…McGonnall’s diction is fantastic… his use of language will feel oddly refreshing and stimulating… a thrilling tale, The Breach Between is a special book because it isn’t bound to just one mythological idea.”

Steph and Dani, A Walk on Words

“McGonall wove a tale with words in the same way a master swordsman wields his weapon…this book reads like a testimony to a love of words and double entendres. Love, ambition and familial ties wrapped up with a spell or two … is what the reader can look forward to.”
