I wanted to love Alex and Rox but the big turnoff for me was two medical professionals going to the local watering hole and getting their drink on. I don’t know any doctors or nurses who do that.

Meeting Ian was instantaneous live. Do I believe I’m that? Not really He is so eligible and single that the meeting was strange. For me it was hard to swallow. If I was a billionare the last place I would be is Botswana.

Medical procedures and some cases were good as well as accurate. That is why I finished it

Becoming Wilde:

Honestly this book was better plot wise than book 1. I have been reading for many many years and I dont get offended when I have to consult the dictionary to check a word or two, in this book it was more than a couple. The pet peeve about the countries to work in was again under my skin with the beginning in Tanzania. I just tried to over look that and the many others places visited. 

Things moved a little slow, it was wordy and a little too long for my taste. “Sweat dripped down her back in linear tributaries that joined together to form a pool at the band of Alex’s shorts.” This quote was just a small example of the wording. Just so you can judge if this is your type of book. For me it felt like an interview for a Hollywood scriptwriter. Thinking of Gone With The Wind or some other movie like that. 

 I enjoyed the return of Rox. There was a midpoint when Alex really needed her best friend. The relationship with Ian was up and down throughout, I wont give any of the plot away.  The best part for me was the Ian story and the sort of psychic consult.  The book leaves off not really putting a bow on the story. I will move on to book number 3.

 I waited until book 3 was out and now the Archer series is a box set so it will be a lot easier for readers to just go for the entire series. I know the ending with the cliffhanger was bad, I agree.


The set up is between Ryley and Evan two young lovers torn apart by the military. The chapters alternate with each character seeing a therapist. It takes until 30 % to find out that Evan is home from a long 6year stint in the military and they are seeing a therapist to get through these issues. OK Well my issue is this therapist has nothing else going on but these two? Then the pace. It was slow moving. Nothing is resolved! The relationship between Ryley and her mother in-law is bad and her reaction to Ryley is awful. It makes no sense that there is SO much aner there But…I do have book two to look forward to.
The downfall is that there is no conclusion. On to book 2


Choose Me → 

 Finally an answer on who to choose. That was a drawn out drama that was not always pleasant. For me, I really wanted more of the mystery, this started to get mysterious halfway in. That was this book’s saving grace. To be honest I was also glad no more therapy sessions. I guess there is a therapist on the unemployment line now.


Ryley has a mother, Carole, up there in military ranks and she is on board with finding the child porn, pedo ring. Ryley’s dad Jenson is always an Evan supporter. Then we learn a little, not much, about Frannie who was the odd one.

Is this wrapped up? NO so you have to read book 3 I for one know there was probably a lot of people who were not happy about that and I am not happy too

 


Save Me → 
Tucker McCoy gets his story. In book 1 and 2 you heard of him but it was limited. Here in book 3 you get the entire story. You learn about the demented Frannie. So he arrives home to nobody. No wife and daughter. Thus begins the search for Penelope and Claire. This cross country journey was pretty good, well written and had a solution. 

The buildup was there but then the conclusion was lacking. It is like going to the store and buying ice cream you really like and while at the register you see something else on sale and figure what the hell this one is better and the other melted while I was waiting so I will just put it back. So Penelope/Penny/Amy was a decent character who just suddenly as a housewife, becomes so adept to changing her identity and moving. She covered her tracks well for someone with no education in these matters. That pill was hard to swallow.



Here With Us →  This is sort of the conclusion for Evan and Ryley. Sad it is a novella. The story could have been expanded on. It was only 73 pages. 
Choose Us → This one came with the Nate and Cara’s story. Overall it is the length of a novella. On my kindle it was 62 pages. Not thrilled there was a cliffhanger…again

A white puff of air filled the space between him and the steering wheel, and he realized he’d sighed. How long had he been sitting here, mind and memory in the past? Shoving his hands into gloves, he opened the rear door, grabbed the white plastic bag, and made his way to the front of the bin.
Determined, focused, and grim: That was Luke Luview these days. A bad match for a town that existed to make people feel good about love.

Time to let go of some of the pain.
“AAAAAAooooooooo,” called out a band of coyotes in the distance, making Luke jolt. His personal weapon was at home. He didn’t carry it in the glove compartment or on his body when he was off duty, but as the coyote population grew in the area, maybe he should.
A few feet from the donation bin’s front, he looked at the lever to pull down, squeezing the bag slightly. A whiff of Amber’s perfume caught his nose, so faint he almost imagined it.
Colleen had washed all the clothes a few weeks ago, so he knew he imagined Amber’s scent. Didn’t matter. He’d take the illusion. That was how much he hurt.
A skitter inside the box made him frown.
Damn animals. They got in those bins all the time. He felt sorry for the poor sap who emptied these metal boxes, carting all the goods to the warehouse in Manchester where they cleaned and sorted, getting it all ready for the second-hand retail stores.
Just do this, he thought, swallowing hard as the coyotes mated in the distance. The sound was violent and creepy, but for whatever reason, it felt fitting.
Throwing the tangible reminders of that terrible day into the donation box felt dangerous, too.
“I love you, Amber,” he murmured. “But I have to let you go. Have to let that day go. Harriet needs a daddy who isn’t tied down by grief. Just because I’m doing this doesn’t mean I love you any less, though.”
Tears pricked his eyes. “Why is this so hard? Because it’s hard,” he said with a huff. “That’s what you would say if you were here. You’d hug me and comfort me and tell me feelings are meant to be felt or they’d be called something else. You’d have all the right words. I don’t have any. I just have a big hole in my life, Amber. And you’re never going to fill it. Colleen says I can’t feel guilty for moving on. I don’t. But I sure do feel weird.”
And then he reached for the handle, pulled it down, and threw the bag in while calling out loudly, “I love you.”
To his utter shock, she replied from the darkness of the box, “I’m in here!”
