I enjoyed the book mostly because it was an easy read. There was not a lot of angst. For me, Jain was a little different as was her issue. The fact that Jain felt she had to mask her beauty to become a somebody in her profession was new and fresh. The idea that a pretty girl with these fantastic eyes couldnt be taken seriously, though different I am sure doesnt happen often. As for the rest of her story, well I appreciated the fact that the girl was motivated by her Mother’s disease to work hard to find a cure.

The story of how Braydon got to be the character we read about was different too.

Sometimes superficial things motivate girls to get their hooks in a guy. So many times Braydon has wondered if someone likes him because of his place in society or his money, but definitely not him. That is so sad to me. Braydon finds a way to combat that. Braydon was cool but to me Jain was the star.

First I will say YES I loved this book. Then I will say that the main character Rose Anne Gardner pulled on my heart strings! I felt so connected to her. She was naive, lovable, funny and cute.

small town girl -8c2The beginning of the book is the set-up for her Momma getting murdered. When I was reading the first few chapters, some were hard, I felt like laughing and then crying. When Rose makes a list on her Wal-Mart receipt, she does so because of her “non eventful” life. The list really made me love her. The feeling of really being connected to a character just makes to be book a real page turner. Her boring town, lack of excitement and her truly crazy mother were only the beginning. She works at the DMV, that alone is funny.

I am happily moving on to the next book. I made a list of them in their order with the amazon links. PLEASE grab this. It is light-hearted, comical, naughty and VERY serious too. Sounds complicated? YES that’s why you gotta read this.

My Clarity by M. Clarke – FAN MADE BOOK TRAILER

I started writing Crossroads after my grandmother passed away.  When these characters came to life in my mind, along with the character Gamma, inspired by my grandmother, it was a way for me to heal.  I decided to start from a dream I had in high school, chapter one.  Chapter two is also based on my dream as well.  I didn’t think I would have much to write about, but when I made Claudia to be more like me, it was easy.  Her first car, her first job, her first experience at camping and her grandmother having a stroke was all part of me.  Too bad Michael wasn’t real…lol!!

Many people like Davin, which I’m really happy about because his character was inspired by my friend who passed away.  He was very likable and was a best friend to all his friends.  Patty is my friend from church.  She is exactly how I described her, social butterfly who knows everything about her friends and fashion.  I named Claudia after a student I once had many years ago.  I can still picture her face, just like an angel.  When I was much younger, I had a crush on a boy name Michael, but his character is based off my husband, protective, romantic, and silly at times.  No… he doesn’t have wings…lol!!!

Though I was busy with work, being a wife, a mother, and PTA president, I would always find time to write, even if that meant typing while I was cooking or brushing my teeth.  Crossroads was written for a fast, fun reading with likable characters.  Many have emailed me to let me know how Crossroads has helped them escaped from their everyday stress.  Also, how they’ve connected to this book because of chapter one, having a loved one passed away.

I took on a journey not knowing how rewarding it would be for me. I’ve meet so many wonderful people from all over the world through facebook, goodreads and blog sites.  I’ve made everlasting friendship where friendship knows no boundaries.  And I have to thank my grandmother who continues to watch over me from Heaven.

After finally being reunited with Kyle, Dakota and Daniel have a blissful life they’ve only ever dreamed of…

Keeping with the first two books in the series this one was another GREAT read. Don’t miss reading the others in this series. All are a little dark and YES I love the dark. Dakota has  some resolve with her family and her overall healing. What I really have to point out is the emotional toll her marriage had on her. The descriptive way the author portrays the character of Dakota made her a favorite of mine. I think showing her resilience was like a girl power

Without giving away any of the plot here, I will say the cat and mouse part of the plot was my favorite. I truly loved the author’s style and the overall plot. She shows Dakota’s sanity being held over a cliff by a piece of dental floss. Also, Daniel was brought into the fold again. Their past is still secret, so their bond has only continued to grow strong. He shows so much loyalty towards Dakota.

 

Sanity will be tested.

Revenge will be sought. The ending was HUGE!

Never is Not Forever

Robert took another sip of his drink. In the background the music throbbed sensually. “I’ve been alone most of my life. My parents died when I was an infant and an aunt raised me until she died when I was fourteen. Then I was placed in a foster home until I was eighteen. I’ve always been afraid to get close to anyone for fear they’d leave me—or so says a psychologist friend of mine.” He grimaced wryly.

Claudia thought he was sounding more and more like the perfect candidate to be the father of her baby. “I never had much of a family life, either,” she admitted.  At least that was the truth.

As they continued to talk, Claudia found herself becoming more interested in him as a person, nearly forgetting why she had lured him there in the first place. Then the moment happened. He put down his glass and removed his glasses revealing the most beautiful teal-colored eyes she’d ever seen on a man. Before that thought had been completely translated by her brain, his lips were covering hers.

It was a gentle kiss, slow and thoughtful. In the background she could hear the sensual guitar music of Ottmar Liebert and marveled how much it fit the mood. Claudia liked how Robert’s mouth felt on hers and actually wanted more. Surprised at her reaction to the kiss, she realized she might not need a script, after all…

Despite the fact Jade knew she should end things with Charles, it felt comfortable having breakfast with him. Worse, she could see making a habit of it. After they finished he insisted on helping her clean up. Standing next to him at the sink washing the dishes as he dried, she felt the heat rising from his body. The scent of his after-shave was intoxicating and going straight to her head. She wanted him to kiss her, but knew he wouldn’t. Not after the last time. So she did the unthinkable and kissed him.
“This is for breakfast and two more inches to my waistline,” she said. “Thanks a lot.” He smacked his forehead and said, “I did it again, didn’t I? I’m going to become a Pavlovian response. You’re going to equate me with food.”
“It’s a distinct possibility,” Jade replied as she playfully punched his arm.

Charles gently took her face and held it between his large hands. She looked into his eyes as they sought hers. She had to be blind not to see the hope and longing there. “Are you going to run away this time?” he asked, his deep voice resonating with emotion.
