About Jane Deyre:

A steamy and twisty contemporary retelling of Jane Eyre from USA Today bestselling and #1 Amazon all-star author, Nelle L’Amour.   When legendary actress Edwina Rochester offered me a job to be the nanny of her five-year-old goddaughter, I didn’t expect to end up living at Thornhill, her infamous Hollywood mansion. The site of a kidnapping, suicide, and possible murder.   Nor did I expect to fall in love with my charge’s devastatingly handsome father, Ward Rochester. A man who’s totally off limits and is hiding a secret.   As my feelings for him deepen, strange, frightening sounds start coming from the room next to mine. My most intimate possessions go missing. And someone’s leaving me notes, threatening my life.   Should I trust the mysterious, mercurial Mr. Rochester? My heart tells me yes. But my brain tells me run.   The problem, reader, is I have no place to go. And I cannot resist him.   Will I get the happily ever after I’ve always longed for? Or will I be the next victim of The Curse of Thornhill?

Ward Jane’s eyes grow wide. “Mr. Rochester, you went to Yale?” “Yeah, but that’s a story for another day.” I look down at her drink. It’s depleted. Like mine. I’m tempted to refill our snifters, but refrain, not wanting to get into my downward spiral following my mother’s death. “You said one drink…I’m going to honor your wishes.” A pause. “Plus, I need to pack my bag for my trip.” Her face falls. “Where are you going?” “To New York…on business.” A half-truth and I leave it at that. She sets her snifter down on the coffee table and stands. She wobbles on her feet. I leap to mine and clutch her shoulders to steady her. I’m so close to her I can smell the liquor on her breath, taste it on my lips. I want to capture her mouth with mine in the worst possible way. I draw her closer to me. A flush crawls up her cheeks. “I guess the brandy’s gotten to my head.”

It’s gotten to mine too. I can’t resist. Without giving it a second thought, I lean into her and press my lips against hers. They’re more delicious than I imagined. Warmer. Softer. So compliant. Electricity courses through my body, charging every atom of my being. She moans into my mouth, arousing me further. Then cups my face, deepening the kiss. Reality intervenes. As impulsively as I touched down on her lips, I pull away. What the hell am I doing? Frightening simplicity. I’m kissing my daughter’s nanny. She’s totally off-limits. And I hardly even know her. Fuck me. “Jane… I mean Miss Deyre… I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me. That was totally inappropriate.” I’m expecting a harsh slap across my face. I deserve it. And brace myself for the sting. Instead, she lets out a shuddering breath. Then, licks her lips—a small gesture that sends my hormones into a tailspin. My cock strains against my fly. Her breathing remains shallow, her glistening lips stay parted. She looks shell-shocked. Three little words spill out in a whisper: “I let you.” I’m a writer and I have no words. Nor does she.

Tessa had no complaints about watching Donovan in the water. He was a good swimmer and when he took a break to stand, water cascaded down his muscled chest, making Tessa want to lick him dry. She’d caught him gazing at her a few times too, so she knew the feelings were mutual. She wasn’t the only aroused one in the vicinity.
Donovan swam over to her. “Pruning yet?”
“Yup.” She held up her hand to reveal wrinkles on her fingertips. “You?”
“Yeah, and it’s probably time for a sunscreen reapply.”
At that, her eyebrow arched. “Are you volunteering to help me with the hard to reach spots?”
“Of course.” He swept her into his arms and walked toward the shore. “Did swimming help?”
“Totally. My whole body feels relaxed.” Except for all the parts that were currently pressed against his big, hard body. Those parts were like tuning forks, vibrating with need.
“Good.” He arrived at their section of the beach and lowered her to a chair. Digging into his tote bag, he extracted sunscreen. “Is this okay with you?”
“It’s the same SPF 1000 I usually use.”
“Guaranteed to keep you pale under the brightest of suns.” He held out the sunscreen. “Let me know when you need help.”
“I need help,” she said right away, not taking the bottle from him.
A slow grin slid across his face. “Okay then.” He flicked the cap up and squirted some sunscreen into his palm then sat in front of her. Starting at her left foot, he worked his way up her left leg to her thigh, massaging sunscreen into her skin and heating her core with each caress of his rough palms. He gave the same attention to her right leg.
He covered her arms in a similar fashion and motioned for her to sit on the cooler so he could get her back and shoulders. Keeping the moans from sounding wasn’t easy. His slick fingers worked her muscles and made her insides buzz with arousal.
Donovan kissed the back of her neck then gently tugged on the rim of her ear with his teeth. “I’d better let you get your chest and face before things get out of hand on this blanket,” he whispered. His arm came around to the front of her, the sunscreen bottle in his hand.
“Yeah.” She had to clear her throat because she was so far gone over having his hands on her. “Let’s save getting out of hand for later.”
“I can’t wait for later.”

About Maybe We Won’t:

A sexy and soul-stirring novel about love, family, and rediscovering what matters most by Melissa Foster, the New York Times bestselling author of Maybe We Will. When workaholic Boston attorney Deirdra de Messiéres is passed over for a well-deserved promotion, she takes a two-month hiatus to show her boss just how much he needs her and heads home to Silver Island. But beyond seeing her sisters happy, home is not where Deirdra’s heart is. She has no interest in their family restaurant, the Bistro, or reliving hurtful childhood memories, and absolutely no interest in spending a single second with Josiah “Jagger” Jones, the Bistro’s too-laid-back musician and chef. Sure, the hippie is hot, but he drives her nuts. The guy lives in a van with his dog, and he can’t even commit to a solid work schedule. To make matters worse, he’s always around. She needs to get off the island, stat. Jagger has overcome his own personal trials to place stock in life’s pleasures: family, friends, peace…and if he has his way, one positively beautiful, absolutely uptight attorney. Jagger knows he’s the perfect person to help Deirdra deal with her hurtful past and find her way back to being happy. A chance encounter leads to deep conversation, and night after liberating night, Deirdra lets down her guard. But neither has plans to stay on Silver Island. Free-spirited Jagger has wanderlust, and Deirdra has a career to return to. They’re on different paths, and plans for a future together don’t stand a chance. Exclusive Excerpt:

Deirdra de Messiéres lay in her childhood bedroom on Silver Island thinking about her upended life. She’d worked her ass off for the last several years as a corporate attorney for a tech firm in Boston, and after her promotion to assistant general counsel last year, she’d thought she was on the fast track to becoming general counsel when the slot opened up—until the GC had a heart attack and her slave-driver boss, Malcolm, had hired a referral from outside the company through his good-old-boy network.   The bastard.   He’d sprung that little nugget on her three days ago, after which Deirdra had announced her two-month hiatus, effective immediately. Everyone had been shocked, including Deirdra. She’d never taken time off and had made herself available in the evenings and on weekends since she’d first started with the company. She’d had to. It was a dog-eat-dog industry, and with six other attorneys on board—four of whom were men—she’d wanted to stand out. Yes, she was well aware that she was putting the company she’d given her all to in a pickle, especially since the new general counsel couldn’t start for another two months. But that was the point. Let them suffer without her impeccable mind handling everything under the sun. She was confident in her game plan and certain Malcolm would quickly see the error of his ways.   Well, pretty confident, anyway. Ninety percent sure.   Okay, seventy-five percent.   The truth was, she’d thought he wouldn’t let her walk out the door after her announcement. But her stern sixty-year-old boss had simply wished her a relaxing time and said she needed it. She’d already received dozens of calls and emails from colleagues who were shocked that she’d taken so much time off, but she struggled with disappointment over the ones that hadn’t come from her boss.   She still couldn’t believe Malcolm had said she freaking needed the break. As if she’d ever produced subpar work? That was a laugh. He’d had nothing but accolades for her jobs well done, and last year’s promotion had been proof of that.   Her frustration simmered to the boiling point. Ugh. She needed to stop overthinking the situation. Fat chance of that happening for a self-professed control freak. Deirdra not overthinking would be as weird as her younger sister, Abby, not seeing the bright side of things or their older half sister, Cait, trusting everyone at face value. Deirdra had a better chance of trying to transform into a bird and fly away.   If only . . .   She and her sisters were quite the trio, and they’d had a whirlwind few months. She and Abby had only discovered Cait existed in the spring, when they’d come back to the island to go over their mother’s will with one of their mother’s best friends, Shelley Steele. While Abby had embraced and trusted Cait unconditionally from the moment she’d met her, Deirdra had been cautious, given that their family house, restaurant, and meager inheritances were on the line. It had taken Cait some time to open up and trust them as well. But they’d gotten through those trials and tribulations and had become close. Cait was a wonderful addition to their family, and like Abby, she’d found solace and love on Silver Island.   Deirdra would not be following suit.   Beyond seeing her sisters happy, Deirdra had no interest in their family restaurant, the Bistro, or in the island on which she’d spent too many years trying to hold together the pieces of her alcoholic mother’s disheveled life, helping to run the Bistro and keep a roof over their heads. Deirdra had fled immediately after high school to attend Boyer University in Upstate New York with her bestie, Sutton Steele, and had finally started living her own life. But self-preservation had consequences, and Abby had been stuck caring for their mother in Deirdra’s absence. That sucked, but what choice had Deirdra had at the time? Stay on the rinky-dink island running a restaurant she resented and putting her drunk mother to bed while her dreams went to pot? Besides, Abby had encouraged her to go, and Deirdra had clung to that support like a lifeboat in her sea of guilt as she’d set out to prove herself to Abby and maybe even to stick it to her mother and show that she couldn’t hold her back.   Deirdra stared at the ceiling, discomfort simmering inside her. She’d thought her resentment toward the island and all that it represented might ease now that her mother was gone, but painful reminders lingered like ghosts in the wind, and the house and her bedroom were filled with them. Abby and Aiden had done a great job of sprucing it up. It was absolutely gorgeous. To anyone else it would seem warm and inviting, but there wasn’t enough paint on the planet to obliterate Deirdra’s painful memories. How many nights had she snuck out the window just to sit on the hill and look out at the water to keep from drowning in her mother’s wake?   Maybe she shouldn’t have come back, but she couldn’t do that to Cait. The start of her impromptu hiatus had lined up with the day Cait and all their friends were fixing up her new tattoo shop. Deirdra wasn’t big on manual labor, but she loved her sisters, and she’d needed to get out of Boston. She was glad she’d come, even if being on the island was uncomfortable. She’d gotten to witness Cait’s boyfriend, Deirdra’s childhood friend Brant Remington, get down on one knee in front of all their friends and propose. Deirdra couldn’t be happier for them, but come hell or high water, she was getting off this island tomorrow and going on a well-deserved vacation, the destination of which was yet to be determined.   The sound of the front door jarred her from her thoughts, and Abby’s giggles floated upstairs. She and her fiancé, Aiden Aldridge, couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Deirdra glanced at her phone. It was almost one o’clock in the morning. In the spring, Abby had moved back home from New York, where she’d worked sixty-plus hours a week as a chef. She’d met and fallen head over heels for Aiden in a whirlwind love affair. Together they’d revived the Bistro, and they were getting married in November.   Deirdra tried to focus on the distant sounds of Silver Harbor sneaking in through the open window instead of the cacophony of laughter, low conversations, and prolonged silences, followed by loud lustful sounds coming from downstairs. If only she were back in Boston. She preferred her noisy neighbor’s stereo blasting classic rock and oldies at all hours over this. At least that she could dance to.   Needless to say, she was a little jealous of her sisters’ love lives. Not that she’d had time for a man, or anything else besides work, these last few years. More noises floated upstairs. She closed her eyes, willing them not to have sex in the living room or, worse, in the kitchen. She had to eat at that table. Oh God, that’s probably what Aiden is doing. She squeezed her eyes shut. Deletedeletedelete!   What was she thinking, staying in her old bedroom? She should have stayed in the apartment over the garage. Why hadn’t she thought of that from the get-go?   A loud thud rattled the walls, followed by more laughter.   Deirdra flew out of bed. She was not going to listen to a play-by-play of Abby and Aiden having sex. She put on her silk kimono and headed downstairs, praying she wouldn’t catch them in a compromising position. She stopped on the bottom step, eyeing the trail of clothing that led past the steps and down the hall to their bedroom. Thank God. Hurrying into the kitchen, she snagged the key to the apartment off the hook by the side door and quietly slipped outside. She crossed her arms against the brisk September air as she climbed the steps to the apartment above the garage.   A streak of moonlight lit a path down the hallway to the bedroom. She took off her kimono and slipped under the warm covers, closing her eyes as she sank into the mattress. Something moved beside her, and her eyes flew open just as that something licked her face. She screamed and jumped out of the bed, flailing for the light switch. A bark rang out, and a cold nose hit her crotch. She swatted at it as she flicked on the lights, illuminating an amused Josiah “Jagger” Jones pushing languidly from the bed as his dalmatian, Dolly, nosed Deirdra’s privates. The twentysomething hippie worked at the Bistro as a part-time musician and part-time chef.   “What are you doing here?” She twisted away from Dolly, her eyes catching on Jagger’s naked body. Holy mother of hotness. Broad shoulders and a few wordy tattoos on his ribs vied for her attention, but her eyes locked on the dusting of dark chest hair trailing down lickable abs, and her thoughts skidded to a halt at the impressive cock dangling between his legs. She couldn’t look away. Her loneliest parts clenched with desire, while her boggled mind tried to make sense of the perfect manscaping, which didn’t fit the image she held of the hemp-clothing- and sandal-wearing, too-damn-laid-back guy for whom she had no patience. Not that she’d ever imagined him naked. Well, not too often anyway. He may not be her type—give her a man in a suit any day—but she couldn’t deny that Jagger was hot, and he had a great voice, the kind that fantasies were made of. His hair wasn’t bad, either: dark, thick, and wavy. The kind of hair she’d love to hold on to while his face was between her legs.   Dolly licked her, snapping her back to the moment.   Holy crap. She was losing it. She was thirty years old, and he couldn’t be more than twenty-four or -five. She needed to get off the island and scratch that particular itch with a man who was more her speed . . . age . . . Holy cow, his body . . .   Dolly licked her again, jerking her mind back into submission.   “Dolly!” She turned away, glowering at Jagger, who was watching her with a big-ass grin.   “Like what you see?” he said far too casually. He lazily raked a hand through his hair, his leather and beaded bracelets slipping down his wrist.

A missed opportunity five years ago makes for an unexpected encounter now between two people meant for each other – but who square off in a very public battle of wills in the small town of Love You, Maine, where every day is Valentine’s Day. Can love conquer all in a town steeped in it?

Kell Luview refuses to be a sucker at love again. Five years ago, he left D.C. with his tail between his legs and his heart broken. Fiercely protective of his small town in rural Maine, he’s determined to save the family tree business and avoid his feelings at all costs, no matter how much he longs to solve the mystery of what happened in D.C.

L.A. native Rachel Hart hates being underestimated almost as much as she hates this small town. She has two goals on this trip: get out of the cheesy tourist trap of Love You, Maine with a completed business deal, and avoid running into Kell, her old friend from D.C. who never became an old flame because of a huge misunderstanding.

One that still aches.

When her rental car breaks down on a logging road and Kell comes to her rescue, it’s clear he’s a changed man – and not for the good. Grumpy and reserved, he pushes all her buttons, still stubbornly convinced she betrayed him all those years ago. He’s never forgiven her, and she’s never forgiven herself for carrying a torch for him.

An embarrassing incident gets the town gossip mill going when residents wrongly assume Kell and Rachel are the newest couple to find love in the most romantic place on Earth. But the townsfolk aren’t wrong for long…

As Rachel breaks through his defenses and charms the town, he faces his biggest fear: all those pesky feelings he’s been avoiding.

Because they’re all about Rachel now.

And maybe they always were.

She batted her eyelashes. “Is that an offer?”

“Rachel,” he said, moving his hand from her waist to cup her ass. “That’s more than an offer.”

He started to kiss her again, but she put her fingers on his lips. “If we don’t eat dinner first, we’ll never eat. And I have a meeting here in this very room, to try to pitch the deal again, in three days. Boundaries, Kell – boundaries. I refuse to have sex on this conference table.”

“The thought never, ever occurred to me,” he lied.

Gideon ran past close enough that she could hear him take a breath while she held her own. Past. He ran past. The crashing footfalls silenced, and she sucked in a soft gasp. Gideon Sinclair had stopped. The small crunch of a footstep came from a few yards beyond her. She’d scoot around the tree to the opposite side, but she dared not move. Instead, she concentrated on becoming a part of the trunk. If only she could grow bark and moss along her back. “I know ye are here somewhere,” Gideon said. “Your footsteps pounding through the brush went silent.” Damn. In a full-out sprint, she couldn’t keep quiet any more than he could. Cait looked at the limb above her. Could she reach it with her rope? Climb up there before Gideon descended upon her like a bloodthirsty wolf? No. Perfect stillness and a miracle were the only ways to outsmart the infamous Sinclair Horseman. When stars started to spark before her eyes in the darkness, Cait parted her lips and drew in a silent stream of air and released it the same way. She listened to his footsteps as he walked along the trail on the other side of the tree. “Your kiss was cold and hard, lass. And it didn’t distract me enough for ye to escape.” You are a cold fish of a woman. Benjamin’s words sneered in her memory. “If ye come out, ye can give it another try,” Gideon said, his voice just on the other side of the thick tree. When she didn’t answer, not even with the crack of a twig, he went on. “What were ye doing up in my room? Did I interrupt a robbery? If you had braved my bedroom for a tryst, ye wouldn’t have jumped out the window.” He walked a little farther up the trail. Could he make out her tracks in the dim light of the moon? Damn snow made them stand out. It seemed God wasn’t interested in trying to save her from this mess. It was all up to her. Cait let her breath out slowly, listening to his footfalls crunch in the mix of snow and dead leaves. She nearly jumped when she felt a tug on the coil of rope that she held. Damn. The end had uncoiled several lengths on her run and lay on top of the leaves before the tree. Cait tried to inhale, but her breath kept stuttering in her chest as Gideon slowly coiled the loose rope, which had become a trail directly to her. He rounded the side of the tree and stopped. The darkness cloaked him in shadow, making his solid form look even larger. Gideon Sinclair stared directly at her.

Burn (Fuel Series Book 3) by Ginger Scott @TheGingerScott @wordsmithpublic #Review

I don’t want to admit all I did was read for the entire day, but it is true. I needed to get this done. It stinks that someone spends a long time writing, reading and editing and then I come along and devour it in a day. This one is where it ends, so I do get the bows on a few stories that needed wrapping up.

Hannah and Dustin have been through a lot. So here I go with the “I felt” parts- I think Tom-Poppa Judge was the better and more likable parent. I liked Amanda and her “legacy” as Mayor but there were times where I could have slapped the crap out of her. Her interactions with Hannah, at times are SO unsupportive it hurt!

Dustin’s upbringing was finally finished. This kid, being brought up the way he was, should have been a serial killer, but he wasn’t. Dustin’s rush was racing. I learned a bit about sponsors and how crooked people can be in the car world. When he was on his game was when the “anger” took the wheel. He used his rage to be a darn good driver.

Tommy was the semi supportive brother that needed a kick in his *ss too. Bailey, the best friend has always been there for Hannah and they had a great friendship that turned out to be one sided. I didn’t see her story going the way it did in this book, so I was shocked.

This was a great series. You need to read them all together or the cliff hangers will make you crazy! Take my advice.

Ginger Scott is an Amazon-bestselling and Goodreads Choice Award-nominated author of several young and new adult romances, including Waiting on the Sidelines, Going Long, Blindness, How We Deal With Gravity, This Is Falling, You and Everything After, The Girl I Was Before, Wild Reckless, Wicked Restless, In Your Dreams, The Hard Count, Hold My Breath, and A Boy Like You.

A sucker for a good romance, Ginger’s other passion is sports, and she often blends the two in her stories. (She’s also a sucker for a hot quarterback, catcher, pitcher,

point guard…the list goes on.) Ginger has been writing and editing for newspapers, magazines and blogs for more than 15 years. She has told the stories of Olympians, politicians, actors, scientists, cowboys, criminals and towns. For more on her and her work, visit her website at http://www.littlemisswrite.com.

When she’s not writing, the odds are high that she’s somewhere near a baseball diamond, either watching her son field pop flies like Bryce Harper or cheering on her favorite baseball team, the Arizona Diamondbacks. Ginger lives in Arizona and is married to her college sweetheart whom she met at ASU (fork ’em, Devils).

Wreck (Fuel Series Book 2) by Ginger Scott @TheGingerScott @wordsmithpublic #Review

After book 1 ended I got annoyed at the to be continued and opened book 2 Good thing I waited. The ending of one had me SO mad. I can’t say why but I will say that this went in a totally crazy spin. I can say that Mrs Judge-Amanda exceeded my expectations of being a self centered b*tch. Hannah has not had things easy and she did nothing to support her only daughter.

Dustin’s story also took a strange turn. Who would have thought ? Colt did what I thought he would do as well as Trish. Loser parents who let others raise their son.

Tommy and Hannah grow up, mature and learn to deal with each other. It is Bailey that surprises me again. This girl is a pillar of strength and positivity for Hannah.

Another great one! It ends with…to be continued, no fears I got book 3 here

BEST quote

“This is the pivotal moment in my making. How I walk this path will dictate my future, and there is no way in hell I’m not coming away with it all.”

Shift (Fuel Series Book 1) by Ginger Scott @TheGingerScott @wordsmithpublic #Review

Buy in AMAZON
Good book. I’m glad there are 2 more after this. You will need to get them because this ends with To be continued dumm dumm dumm I hate cliffhangers so I never read until the series is finished. I waited a while on this one for that reason. There is also the trepidation that I wont like the book that one of my all time favorite authors wrote. Being honest-here I go:

Gloom follows Dustin wherever his family goes His mother is a drug addict and his Dad is gggrrrrr I can’t say too much but he is a dead *ss loser. The first time he showed up at a race, he watched but never spoke to Dustin. I really thought, when his character was revealed, he was going to want to come in and take money, sponsorships and bring drama. He did a lot of that but it was because he was just a loser. Somewhat scary dealings will come into play. This is the part that was, for me, the best part, a little ATF and FBI story that grows was the opposite direction that surprised me for sure.

His “family” is the Judge family and anyone he races with. Hannah and Tommy were best friends with Dustin since age 7. The history is there. A great foundation to build on. For some reason Amanda, the mother is all of a sudden more into the image she has, bothering me. It seems like her and Hannah are drifting.

Solid friendship with Bailey is important too. The girls need each other a lot. The characters evolve into young adults as the story goes on. There is a cliffhanger, which I hate, but it is necessary. Miss Ginger did it again! A must read
