Young socialite, Tiffany Thompson, seems to have it all, everything but love, that is. Guarded since her high school boyfriend’s betrayal, she wouldn’t recognize real love if it hit her over the head. Unless it’s a can of paint, and successful financier Todd Jameson is behind it.

Todd fell hard and fast for Tiffany a year earlier, but, unwilling to risk his own heart after a college sweetheart shattered it, he avoids Tiffany and vows to keep his distance. Fate has other plans, however, and changes both their minds.

But not everyone is happy with their budding romance. Unbeknownst to either of them, a vengeful enemy stands in the shadows with plans to take Tiffany, and Todd is in the way.

Halfway around the world, Angela Bartholomew, a former foe in Tiffany’s circle, is serving a year-long sentence as a volunteer in a Romanian orphanage in payment for her lying, manipulative ways. That or be disinherited by her parents. The spoiled debutante is determined to get home at all cost, but Fate has plans for her, too, and Angela is not prepared for how her life will change.

Will love conquer heartbreak, or will greed and revenge ruin all three lives?

This book was so good! I loved how there were parts that were funny, serious, and sad. Our main character Alex is just lovable and constantly feels the need to tell people she doesnt want kids. For her and Barry, her husband, it was not a debate, both felt the same. A lot of the book has smart quips making Alex even more humorous. So the big issues between Alex and Barry are basically secrets and sort of secrets. When Marie comes knocking with the claims that she is his kid, it is shocking.shocking most p186617_b_h3_aa
The author takes you through the drama of a wife with a secret and a husband that has one too. Now I will say that each secret is probably as damaging to the relationship. The story of Marie is like WOW. Then Marie tells Barry and Alex about her choice when the decision to have Ruthie comes into her life. I was in tears. She is amazing.
 composting-for-kids
The light moments are all about Barry and Alex debating Marie’s “greeness” I had to laugh so many times. Marie is a vegetarian and has some ideas about their composting. OMG too cute.
Also I have to give honorable mention to Marie- the Labrador poodle mix. Her character takes center stage as this couple tries to navigate a new era in their family. I am a dog lover myself, so their debates over how choices will influence and effect Marie are too funny!

Having read the entire series, I know Luc. Yes I didn’t know if there could be any redemption for him. While I understood being brought up in the mob couldn’t have been easy, I struggled for a little with his character. I was wrong. the author flipped the entire character and made me fall for him. What happened with the mob family in the past makes me conflicted with hating Luc. ExpectTheUnexpected

The story of Vicky was DARK. OMG I loved it. Yes it was a bit edgy and that is why I enjoyed reading it. What a messed up life Vicky had. I was thrilled the way it played out.

what are ypu waiting for 3

There is an awful lot of this to love so grab book 1 and get going. The writing style is great, the story was great, it was steamy and dark, so what are you waiting for?? Read it now

Wild Cards (The Twisted Series 3) by RC Stephens @rcstephensbooks

wild 51zRo5nBFCL._SX329_BO1,204,203,200_

synopsis 39

She grew up with love but tragedy took everything away from her.

He was forced into a life that he hated and was drowning in darkness.

They both lost hope…

They both looked for ways to numb the pain…

To him, she was unpredictable and alluring.

To her, he was a dark knight with a shady past.

What happened next was unexpected. Their chance encounter was not chance anymore.

As their worlds collide and their impenetrable walls are infiltrated, these two dark souls are forced to face the one thing on earth that scares them the most…

Love.

***This is a standalone novel and does not need to be read with books one and two of the Twisted Series.
***Warning-For mature audiences only.
As a reader myself, I know how important it is to be aware of ‘hot button’ issues that could trigger painful memories for some. Wild Cards is a love story of the greatest and most epic proportions. However this love story faced many bumps in the road and in order to tell Luc and Vicky’s story I needed to touch on the scene of aggravated sexual assault. I feel it is my job to advise the reader of this violent episode. This aspect does not define the whole story and the book is not about violence rather about two dark souls saving each other while finding true love.

synopsis 39

It’s always easy to say what one should have or could have done to change the events in their life, but what happens when it’s too late? When the damage is already done? Do I just give up? It’s hard to see a way out when I am lost in a sea of pain and have to face the realization that a chain of bad choices put me in my present state.

I’ve always believed I was a fighter, but somewhere along the line I forgot that, I gave up, I broke down. But here’s the thing, I wanted to be better, I wanted another chance to do better.

Don’t you think I knew all along that Dylan was my light, my love? I did. But like I said love is twisted.

When someone falls victim to their worst nightmare do you catch them when they fall or do you turn your back on them? I know I shouldn’t question this, but Luc understood my inner turmoil. Two broken souls, our bond almost seemed unbreakable. Almost.

I’ve met obstacle after obstacle. It’s laughable that I thought the threat would end with Luc. The threat is real, the fear I feel when I look over my shoulder is all real.

I’m Alexis White and I’ve learned from my mistakes, the question is: will I be brave enough to give away my heart forever?

Wicked Restless A Harper Boys novel By Ginger Scott @TheGingerScott #review @wordsmithpublic

Did you guys read Wild Reckless yet? If not then go grab it here and then pre- order Wicked Reckless here. Now moving on to this book. Remember Andrew the youngest Harper brother? Well he has his own story to tell. This was probably the best Ginger Scott book ever!  The angst from book one was turned up to high for this one.
recommended highly orasnge
I remember in book one when the Harper’s had their life explained I felt bad for them because of their Mom. Their Mom worked so hard to provide for them, herself and her Dad. All of this while she is trying to get over her oldest son James’ death.  So when drugs and violence change the family forever, I felt like I loved Owen more. He has shown the image of tough but he wasn’t too tough to me. I adored the way their life was portrayed.silence (3)
Now that the spotlight is on Andrew, I was so happy, he was the smart kid. The emotions that describe Andrew really made me lose it a few times. He is in a GATE gifted and talented program, I think they call it Excel here, anyways he is brilliant, shy and so alone. I really had my little heart broken for him. Speaking of hearts, that is where the love of Emma comes in. Emma moved there a few months ago to be “closer to Chicago”, whatever right? NO it has meaning for her and her family and then the same goes for Iowa. one day single-woman-quotes
This will totally make you love the traditional family structure. There is another love for me and that was Dwayne. Dwayne was the best Step-Dad he could be. For once I can say that someone came into a kids life and did exactly the right things. The character was loving, caring, communicative at his own pace. When you read the family scenes just think of how his support helped both Andrew and Owen.
 Family-Quotes-101 (1)
More of my cheers is for bringing back the James memories.l Yes he was the bad Harper kid that just couldn’t get help the help he desperately needed but didn’t want. So another bravo for showing socially relevant issues that are real and not sugar coated politically correct views. Drugs are here and sometimes we can offer help but it wont be accepted.
I say read it and tell me if chapter 5 killed you too! b5fb9-52bstar2bblog2b2bbook

review 17I expected a continuation of book one and I got it  so I am happy. The guys from 4225 West are back! A life of music is in the plans now for Liam and Josie so in this book we focus on Harrison and Katelyn. That thrills me . I’m so totally Team #Karrison it ain’t even funny. I loved this dynamic duo and I have so many quotes from this book. I enjoyed book 1 and this was SO much better. I can honestly say that it is a scorcher. Heidi definitely turned up the heat!

gimmeheatname
I must give an special award to Harrison as character of course, because he took his son. When his “oops one night stand” turns up with a 3 day old, he calls his mother and jumps into action. I have never read a character  so giving in this respect.

Now as for the entire “oops” it was addressed and that part, no spoilers here, was unique and I loved it. This is a one of a kind of a guy. My man Harrison. #Swoon!

faint betty-faint

The author does Mason justice here too. His memory is alive along with Katelyn’s commitment to him. Their love was something to truly aspire to.

After a horrible and disfiguring fire, Kiera Mason is ready to re-enter society. She has only her Mother’s sister left. So she plans to stay with them as a way of healing. She has a plan and gives herself sufficient time frames to work towards. The goals are reasonable as is her course of treatment. She refers to her burns from the fire that took her parent’s life as “patchwork” skin. She has obvious self esteem issues. When Keira goes to her Aunt and Uncles house she is confronted with starting over with everything from a new name to a family she never really knew.

romantic suspense 3925332_origThe truth of her ordeal comes out in small parts, each one more shocking that the other. It makes this a page turner. When the naughty comes in so does Jake…jacob omalley (3)

The author creates a group of people that you honestly hate. Cousin Whitney is the queen and refuses to bow to anyone. She is bold, opinionated, bossy and abusive to people. She seems to get away with things because of her Anson name. Her dad, Bud is a real estate and construction genius who makes people money. So that is the way he gets everything done. They are EVIL!

apple devil

The entire story surrounds this family, the Anson’s and one Jacob O’Malley, bar owner bad boy.

This is loaded with hate, anger, family and lots of scandal with a side on erotic romance. So YES its got everything I love. This author continues to surprise me with her stories. This was another captivating read. The last 25% was like WOW I cursed, cried, and was really angry This is gonna stay with me for a while

WILD RECKLESS by GINGER SCOTT (A Harper Boys novel) By Ginger Scott @TheGingerScott #review @wordsmithpublic

  Wild-Reckles
 review 43

Kensington Worth, aka Kensi is very normal at first. When things happen for her in her chosen career, the personal side of her  life starts to crumble. There is a very delicate balance here that threatens her household. I totally enjoyed how the author creates a very devious sub-plot. This book was fantastic!

fantastic btwo061jnwc6duqmpf6s

The way Kensi has her music passion and how her parents, mainly her Dad, try to dictate her future was killer. The two families who live next door to each other were opposites, on the surface. The Harper household brought tears to my eyes a few times. As I grew to know Kensi and her family they did the same.

So sometimes as a parent you can push and demand instead of guiding your child. The way Kensi deals with her career and what turns out to be her ultimate passion was awesome!

what-a-twist

I was loving how the Harper family had this bond. The fact that from the outside you thought they were all trouble but, they were very multi-layered. Their heartache was so real. They have more than one relevant issues. I really loved how Mrs Harper cared for her father. Having a parent with Alzheimer’s disease is a hot topic, so it was dealt with here in a caring way. Aside from that there is James Harper. I really loved him. James has substance problems and it is the most heartbreaking part for me to read.

recommended highly orasnge

The family drama was the center of this book. I thought it was extremely well written. Part of being an avid reader is wanting to scream “this book is amazing”! Then having everyone read it. Now as I think back to the one plot device that was, for me, most important I am yelling! I cant tell you what it was but Oh my GOD it was shocking.
