Synopsis

I stole her in the night. Caged her because I can’t live without her. She’s my love, my addiction, my obsession.

I will do anything to keep Sara mine.

Peter’s POV

“You will never do this again.” My voice is low and hard as I grip her shoulders and pull back to meet her startled gaze, the fear inside me swamped by fierce determination. “You will not run from me, Sara. Ever. There’s nobody out there who can help you, no place you can hide from me. And if you try this futile stunt again, you’ll regret it—I give you my word on that. You think you know what I’m capable of, but you haven’t even scratched the surface. You have no idea of the lengths I’ll go to, ptichka, no clue what I’m willing to do to have you. You’re mine, and you’re staying mine—now and for as long as we’re both alive.”

I can feel her muscles tensing as I speak, and I know I’m scaring her. It’s not what I want, but I have to keep her from these escape attempts.

I have to keep her safe.

“Peter, please…” Her soft hazel eyes fill with tears as her palms come up to press against my chest. “Don’t do this. This isn’t love. Even you must realize that. I’m sorry for everything you’ve lost, for what George did to your family. And I know—” She swallows, holding my gaze. “I know there’s something between us, something that shouldn’t be there… something that doesn’t make any sense. You feel it, and I feel it too. But that doesn’t make this right. You can’t stalk someone into loving you, can’t intimidate her into caring. For as long as you’re keeping me here, I’m your captive, no matter what you make me say… no matter what you coerce me into. Whether I run or not, I’m not yours—and I never will be. Not like this.”

Every word she speaks is like a knife puncturing my liver. “How then?” My words come out harsh and desperate, violent in their intensity. “Tell me, Sara. How can I have you? What other way can we be together?”

Her gaze mirrors my torment. “We can’t,” she chokes out, her delicate nails scraping over my skin as her hands curl into fists against my chest. “This isn’t meant to be, Peter. We’re not meant to be. Not with the past we share—not with who and what we are.”

“No.” My rejection is visceral, instinctive. “No, you’re wrong.”

Realizing I’m gripping her shoulders with biting force, I release her and step back, then turn away to turn off the water, using the small task to regain some control. Now that I’m no longer freezing, my body is starting to respond to her nakedness, my hunger for her sharp and dark, aggravated by the volatile brew of anger and frustrated longing. If I don’t calm down, I will take her, and I will hurt her.

I will fuck her until she breaks and admits she belongs to me.

She’s crying when I turn back to face her, the tears mixing with the wetness on her cheeks. “Peter, please…” She reaches over to grip my hand, her slender fingers wrapping around my palm imploringly. “Please, just let me go. This isn’t what you want, not really. I can’t be your family. I can’t be their replacement. Can’t you see that? It’s just not meant to be. What you want is not—”

“You are what I want.” Tugging my hand out of her hold, I fist it in her hair and wrap my other arm around her waist, molding her against me. She sucks in a sharp breath, her peaked nipples brushing against my chest, and my cock throbs, hard and ready against her silky stomach as I say thickly, “You, Sara, are everything I want. I don’t give a fuck about the past, or what is or isn’t meant to be. We make our own fate—we choose our own destiny—and I chose you. I don’t care if the rest of the world thinks it’s wrong, if I have to fight an army to hold on to you. I found you, I took you, and I’m keeping you—and I’m never going to set you free.”

Read an Excerpt from Sara’s POV

I meet his gaze, and everything inside me jolts. It feels like I got shocked with a defibrillator. For the first time, I see him in the light of day without alcohol or drugs in my system.

For the first time, I fully comprehend how dangerous he is.

He’s leaning back in his chair, his long, jean-clad legs stretched out and crossed at the ankles under the small round table. It’s a casual pose, but there’s nothing casual about the dark power that rolls off him in waves. He’s not just dangerous; he’s lethal. I see it in the metallic ice of his gaze and the coiled readiness of his large body, in the arrogant set of his jaw and the cruel curve of his lips.

This is a man who lives and breathes violence, an apex predator for whom rules of society don’t exist.

A monster who’s tortured and killed countless people.

The surge of anger and hatred that comes with the thought cuts through my fear, and I take a step forward, then another and another until I’m walking toward him on almost steady legs. If he wanted to kill me, he could’ve already done it in a million different ways, so whatever he wants today must be something different.

Something even more evil.

“Hello, Sara,” he says, rising to his feet as I approach. “It’s good to see you again.”

His deep voice wraps around me, his soft Russian accent caressing my ears. It should sound ugly, that voice from my nightmares, but like everything else about him, it’s deceptively appealing.

“What do you want?” I’m being rude, but I don’t care. We’re long past politeness and good manners. There’s no use pretending this is a normal get-together.

The only reason I’m here is because not showing up could endanger my parents.

“Please, sit.” He motions to the chair across from him and sits down. “I took the liberty of ordering a cup of coffee for you. Black, no sugar… and decaf, since you’re not working today.”

I glance at the second cup—prepared exactly the way I would’ve ordered it—then meet his gaze again. My heart drums in my throat, but my voice is even as I say, “You have been watching me.”

“Yes, of course. But you figured that out last night, didn’t you?”

I flinch. I can’t help it. If he saw me try to make that call, then he saw me stagger drunkenly into the bathroom and come out naked.

If he’s been watching me for a while, he’s seen me in all sorts of private moments.

“Sit, Sara.” He gestures at the chair again, and this time, I obey—if only to give myself a chance to calm down. Rage and fear are a tangle of live wires in my chest, and I feel like I’m one deep breath away from exploding.

I’ve never been a violent person, but if I had a gun on me, I’d shoot him. I’d blow his brains all over the trendy Starbucks wall.

“You hate me.” He says it calmly, as a statement of fact rather than a question, and I stare at him, caught off-guard.

Does he read minds, or am I that transparent?

“It’s okay,” he says, and I catch a glimmer of amusement in his eyes. “You can admit it. I promise not to hurt you today.”

Today? What about tomorrow and the day after? My hands form into fists under the table, my nails digging into my skin. “Of course I hate you,” I say as steadily as I can manage. “Is that a surprise?”

“No, of course not.” He smiles, and my lungs tighten, preventing me from breathing. It’s not a perfect smile—his teeth are white, but one is slightly crooked on the bottom, and his lower lip has a tiny scar that wasn’t visible until now—but it’s magnetic nonetheless.

It’s a smile nature designed for one purpose only: to lure in unwary women and make them forget the monster underneath.

Release Date: February 14, 2017

Breaking the Girl by M.C. Webb is a dark story of desire. Two souls collide, breaking open a long forgotten past, and a very tortured present. What drives the lovers closer, may be the very thing the tears them apart.

Axel Stone is a porn star, a highly successful porn star. Now semi-retired and frigidly cold, Axel stumbles through life the only way he knows how – lots of booze and women. With more than 1500 movies over his short career, Axel has slowly removed himself from filming, opting instead to “train” woman for the industry resulting in their near stardom as they emerge onto the adult film sets. Every director wants one of Axel’s girls because Axel’s girls, make money.
And Payton Knight needs money.
Homeless, survivor of a horrific ordeal has left Payton broke and desperate. A chance encounter to meet and be trained by Axel, with the possibility of making enough cash to right her wrongs, Payton jumps at the chance. It doesn’t hurt she is instantly attracted to the leading man. Neither get what they expect and as they both struggle with which reality is less damning, both Axel and Payton pay an ultimate price.

Prologue
Axel

Metal security bars obscure my view, but don’t completely block out the wandering boy and his dog. Though I avert my gaze, I can still see him in my periphery—dirty bare feet, ragged blue jeans, and faded shirt. His hair is dingy from dirt, but it would probably be dark blond when washed. I have yet to see his eyes clearly but know for certain they are dark and sit slightly sunken while bluish circles surround the lost orbs.

Is he hungry today? Does his heroin addict of a mother know he feeds the mutt his mission food or is she too far gone to care anymore?

Helplessly drawn to the figure, my gaze slowly turns his way to see what’s new today. Like the times before, his is head down and his gait slow as he keeps to the shadows of the buildings. It’s as if he fears the sun’s rays. This nameless boy haunts me for days after I leave the dark confines of Barb’s cramped office, and I know with certainty, today will be no different. I’ll take the image of the homeless preteen with me when our meeting finally ends. I will attempt to approach him again today, offering money and shoes. He will again run from me.

Tinkling giggles pull me back to the business at hand.

“No, no that’s fine with me,” the girl says too eagerly.

The boy leads his shaggy dog down an alley and out of sight.

“Axel?”

Barb’s masculine voice makes my skin crawl, and I catch a glimpse of my reflection in the window. The image looks mean, cold and I know I’ve only grown harsher the past couple of years. Funny how being sober can actually make a person worse in some ways. A white hot pain licks up the side of my neck, creeping, crawling slowly to the center of my left eye where it sits and waits to split my skull open at just the right moment.

“We need you to sign,” Barb says to my back, not at all hiding her impatience.

Giving the alley one last glance, I turn to finish what will be my last contract this summer.

“Almost done, Candi,” Barb tells the girl I’ve spent the last month training with and I suddenly want to laugh.

Almost done?

Not by a long shot.

Yes, this signing is the end of the road with me, but Candi will undoubtedly be in films, lots of them, and she will never be done. This decision will follow her for the rest of her life.

That thought gives me pause and the conversation I tried to tune out of a moment ago becomes much clearer. Taking my seat at the cheap, round table, I ignore the producer, David Magardo, to my left, as well as Barb, the bane of my existence and business partner to my right, focusing straight ahead on Candi. Her bright blue eyes are made even brighter by whatever pill she popped this morning, self-tanning, and platinum blonde hair. Her double-D breasts are on display in her very short, low-cut dress.

The girl would be pretty if not for the heavy makeup and perky role she constantly played. I alone in this room know she’s never happy, sometimes drinks way too much, and cries when she calls home. She’s young—too young to know what she’s doing, yet old enough to choose it all. I’ve prepared her for everything and now, I let her go in peace.

“Did you stipulate you want a companion of your choice on set with you?”

Candi blinks quickly as if the thought escaped her.

“There will always be an assistant to see to her needs, Axel,” Magardo mumbles uncomfortably.

I give the girl a hard stare.

“What he means is his camera guy or his assistant,” I address Candi, ignoring Dave all together. “I told you to request this be added, otherwise you are their property and will be at the mercy of whoever is on set. At least with a companion, they can look out for you if something goes in a direction you are uncomfortable with.”

Like you land in a gangbang with total strangers when you were only expecting girl on girl.

Candi glances uncomfortably at Barb, then Dave.

“Uh, yeah. I need to have someone with me, a friend or someone,” she says uncertainly.

I tap the table absently with my forefinger, knowing all Candi wants is the sign-up money with the promise of more. Dave makes a note on the form and lets Barb, then Candi read it.

“This is less money than it was just a few minutes ago?” Candi says, surprised. “Why is it less?”

Her eyes dart from the pages to Dave, to me, then back to Dave.

“The cost involved in shooting changes if you want a companion with you while you film. The more terms you add and longer this takes, the less I’m willing to offer,” Dave threatens.

Candi’s eyes water ever so slightly and I know what’s coming. Even though I’m a hypocrite, and even though I was one of those strangers on film for countless girls over the course of my career, I fucking hate what she’s about to do.

“I don’t need anyone with me if you will honor the amount from before.”

“Agreed, now get Axel to sign and I can give you the check.”

When the pages are slid to me, I sign, releasing Candi to film at will. I inwardly grimace at the fact I’m most likely the only one in the room who would actually honor a contract. An equally sad and ironic thought, but now I can only eye the door, longing to escape these people and this life for a while.

The boat is ready. The alcohol is stocked, along with the food and my favorite fishing gear. All that’s missing is me.

I hate all of them, I hate all of this. Grinding my teeth, I fight the creeping darkness in my heart.

“Axel?” Barbs pulls me from my musings when the paperwork is complete.

I try to concentrate on the business at hand. Barbara can sense my foul mood and pats her short red hair nervously before smoothing imaginary lines on her black slacks. She attempts to look attractive and professional, and she succeeds to a cheapened degree, but I see her she-devil horns even if no one else does. And just behind her square reading glasses are the coldest, cruelest green eyes I’ve ever seen. Barb will never be more than a briefcase pimp trying to hold on to her youth to me. What was she now? Had to be close to fifty, maybe more. She was in her mid-thirties when I was a teenager just starting in the business.

The crow’s feet around her eyes deepen and my focus sharpens as I realize both she and Dave are staring at me.

“What?” I almost growl.

“We were just wondering if you would consider adding a couple of girls to your schedule. Maybe you could take one with you on your vacation and train her on the boat?”

The word “vacation” left her pencil thin lips like a curse word. Barbara hates me taking time off and fights me tooth and nail every chance she gets.

I understand what she said, the conniving bitch that she is.

“On the boat?”  A female, on a boat with me. That would mean she would have to share my bed and fuck no, that’s not happening. I don’t want anything to do with the girls other than training them, and that is plenty, thank you very much. The very thought of being confined in a small space with one makes my stomach clench with anxiety.

“Uh, no. Again, I have a set schedule, Barb. I’m not changing it. I’m finished working for now.”

I glance to Candi and she gives me a sad smile, knowing everyone is talking around her like she’s not in the room. Once her check was given to her, she was no longer of importance. I give her a narrowed expression, trying to convey the hard truth that, as of now, she’s nothing but a performance act.

Get used to it, sweetheart, it only get worse from here.

“I already told you I like you.”

“I like you, too. So do you want to make it official and be my girlfriend?” He flashes me a toothy grin.

“I thought you’d never ask.” My smile matches his. “I’d love to.”

“I’m glad.” He clears his throat. “Sorry. I’m not usually this mushy.” He feels his forehead. “I must be coming down with something.”

I laugh. “You totally are. Or maybe some woman is making you become a softie.”

He chuckles. “I’m totally blaming you if the guys give me shit.”

“So, are you going to take me on dates and shit?”

“Don’t you know this is, like, our third date? Like, officially and shit.”

“Damn. The guys are so going to give it you,” I tease.

Excerpt from Peter’s POV

“Are you going to kill me?”

She’s trying—and failing—to keep her voice steady. Still, I admire her attempt at composure. I approached her in public to make her feel safer, but she’s too smart to fall for that. If they’ve told her anything about my background, she must realize I can snap her neck faster than she can scream for help.

“No,” I answer, leaning closer as a louder song comes on. “I’m not going to kill you.”

“Then what do you want from me?”

She’s shaking in my hold, and something about that both intrigues and disturbs me. I don’t want her to be afraid of me, but at the same time, I like having her at my mercy. Her fear calls to the predator within me, turning my desire for her into something darker.

She’s captured prey, soft and sweet and mine to devour.

Bending my head, I bury my nose in her fragrant hair and murmur into her ear, “Meet me at the Starbucks near your house at noon tomorrow, and we’ll talk there. I’ll tell you whatever you want to know.”

I pull back, and she stares at me, her eyes huge in her pale face. I know what she’s thinking, so I lean in again, dipping my head so my mouth is next to her ear.

“If you contact the FBI, they’ll try to hide you from me. Just like they tried to hide your husband and the others on my list. They’ll uproot you, take you away from your parents and your career, and it will all be for nothing. I’ll find you, no matter where you go, Sara… no matter what they do to keep you from me.” My lips brush against the rim of her ear, and I feel her breath hitch. “Alternatively, they might want to use you as bait. If that’s the case—if they set a trap for me—I’ll know, and our next meeting won’t be over coffee.”

She shudders, and I drag in a deep breath, inhaling her delicate scent one last time before releasing her.

Stepping back, I melt into the crowd and message Anton to get the crew into positions.

I have to make sure she gets home safe and sound, unmolested by anyone but me.

Fair Warning … This isn’t a sappy romance. It’s not sweet. It’s far from anything you would want to imagine. This is a story to leave you feeling dirty.

Nothing about us is normal.
Nothing about us is natural.

Can love ultimately be defined in such ways, truly? This is our story.

He is a hitman. The very one who took my family the night that changed us both forever. Something in my eyes stopped him from killing me. Something in my eyes called out for him to take me.

At ten he captured me, at fifteen he consumed me, and at eighteen he owned me.

Outsiders think he’s my father … that is so far from the truth.

Our twisted desires fuel the darkness that lies deep inside us both. My innocence never existed. He takes me as I am.

“I was pulled right into this story. The story has pain, abuse, laughs, secrets, despair, and heartbreak.” – 5 Star from Renee Entress’s Blog

“Chelsea opened my eyes and taught me that it’s not about whether a person leaves your life or if they stay but what they do in between the time of entering and leaving.” – 5 Star from Swoon Worthy Books

“Everything about this gem called out to me and I’ll forever think about it.” – 5 Star from Author Jo-Anna Walker

Fair Warning … This isn’t a sappy romance. It’s not sweet. It’s far from anything you would want to imagine. This is a story to leave you feeling dirty.

Sick, twisted and dark! yes it was fantastic. The way it’s written is comparable to Lucky Santangelo and probably a lot of Belva Plain, that is dating me I know but…I’m so proud of Chelsea and her writing I see another bestseller!!

dark1

Now onward and upward…. I would love to say I am jumping up and down but I am not. I will celebrate the fact that this author is TALENTED . The novel is dark and I love that. The subject matter is not easy to read for a lot but I DO love dark.

i love you as dark YM4u

This opens with a seriously sick scene of incest. Gripping and really descriptive, I was hooked on page 3. For real! I was thinking about how many times lately I could do my own drinking game: Every time you see a description with billionaire, take a shot NOW every time you see the description with alpha male, chug! GO
I know this is not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea, but most people who follow me or my blog will know I love controversy and dark, so this is a ten on both scales. I am sad it is a stand alone cause there is a lot of character development that would be good for more.

If you are a Chelsea fan PLEASE read this cause it will knock your socks off and shock you, its different. Think of Captive in the Dark meets a Jackie Collins novel. GREAT book

“Aces, Kings, Queens, Jacks, and Spades- my world is one hand at a time. The read, the game, and the ability to walk away as the unexpected winner, that’s how I roll. Life is a game of chances and not a game of hearts.” Morrison Caldwell.

Morrison Caldwell, the middle Caldwell brother is the wild card. He is the gambler that surprisingly does know his limits. He has a sort of routine that makes you just adore him. He gets off the plane, goes to a slot machine and then based on a win or lose he plans his night. He is ritualistic which I find to be a new character trait I have never read before. Usually you would think that a gambler would not identify his limits, but Morrison does. wild card 5439

Basically the Caldwell family is featuring a brother in each novel. So for me I am a Jared Caldwell nut, fanatic, stalker and well I do admit to labeling myself as the future Mrs Caldwell. Jared doesnt know it but we are destined to be together. Jared is not part of the three brothers so I am desperate for his novel but next is Jagger. While I loved Morrison for his planning and devious mind when it comes to finance, I want Jagger. Jagger is a serious #WaitingOnWednesday.

Anyways I loved Hailey, the obviously broken girl with a past that is dark. I do love dark and this story killed it! The first few chapters show how this world is just evil. Hailey remains a planner and a few plot twists here have you stuttering for sure, she was so cool. I wont go into some of the plot twist but the one that stands in my mind was towards the end with Monte. WOW I was stunned and don’t want to believe him, but its so realistic that maybe I do.

I say it is a must read, so grab it now!
