Nordic Lessons by Christine Edwards

Description:
Elora is a cultivated Londoner visiting her brother in Oslo, Norway. With her brother away on business, she decides to do without his permission and borrow his classic Jaguar to take in the sights. But when she pulls over to the side of the road to take pictures, the car won’t start up again. In a blind panic, Elora has nowhere to turn, until a warrior of a man stops to help her. A massive, handsome hunk of a man, clad head to toe in black leather.

Elora has never encountered anyone like Mikkel. As much as he frightens her, she realizes she is out of options. Then comes the exhilarating journey home on his custom ride, and Elora falls hard for her knight in leather armor, an alpha male eager to teach her the rules of Dom/sub relationships. Mikkel is head of his motorcycle club, and in the days that follow, Elora becomes increasingly entangled in the culture of bondage, bikes, and club rivalries. But how can Elora fully commit to a man whose world might as well exist on another planet?

  Soul Seduction

Excerpt:A surprised gush of breath leaves my lungs as his hands grasp each of my bare, chilled thighs to give a possessive squeeze before he dismounts.

“Enjoy the ride?”

I dismount with his assistance, quickly remove the elastic and sift my fingers through my braid, setting my red hair free once again. With my heart still pounding fiercely like a Japanese Taiko drum, I tell him—and I know I’m gushing—“Yes, there’s such a sense of power being on your motorcycle. Although I have to admit, I’m relieved that you’re the one driving. It seems like it would be far too much power for me to handle between my legs.”

Oh no, oh shit!

I watch his expression change the second the unintended double entendre leaves my lips. His eyes are smoldering, his breathing is more rapid. A perfect mask of male lust stares down at me. He’s absolutely stunning. His huge, hot palm reaches forward to glide through my hair, firmly cupping the back of my bare neck. He leans down several inches, closing any distance between us.

In a thick whisper, he says very slowly, “Oh, I have no doubt you can handle all that power perfectly, Elora.”

Muffled, thumping sounds of rock music engulf us as we become lost in each other’s eyes.

The heady moment is broken when he suddenly lets his eyes slide shut, drags in a deep breath, and changes the subject. “You’re proving to be the ultimate distraction, min skjønne. And I’m not easily influenced. We need to move now, we’re already over an hour late.”

Without another word, he grabs hold of my hand and turns to climb the steep flight of wooden steps. I glance out over the parking lot. Not a space to be had. There must be over a hundred people here.

He stops before the solid black door and turns to face me, his warm fingers threading confidently through mine. “I’m tending bar tonight, Elora, but I’m gonna place you right in my line of sight and introduce you to some quality friends. That work for you babe?”

“That’s fine, Mikkel.”

He lowers his body down farther to whisper against my parted lips, “My girl’s so fucking sweet.”

His girl? Yes, I absolutely adore that.

Stuck In Between by Blakely Bennett @BlakelyBennett #review

Jacqs is a twenty-eight year old woman caught up in an on again, off again relationship with Bond, who is her best friend and the one who causes her the most heartache. She succumbs, yet again, to his powerful charisma, but vows not make it into more than it is, a great night of sex.

Bond, too sexy for his own good, wants Jacqs for himself as he “dates” his way through the female population of South Florida. He selfishly doesn’t see the conflict of interest.

Red, Bond’s best friend, has watched Bond take Jacqs for granted for way too long and soon stakes his own claim on her.

Will Red and Jacqs budding relationship pull apart their tight-knit group of friends and will Jacqs survive being Stuck In Between.

So this is original in the whole love triangle theme. I think it is poly-amory disguised as a love triangle. People who are living that poly amorous lifestyle do actually love more than one person. I have read other books by this author and I will say that while sometimes the cover and title seems like it will be good, she finds a way to make it totally unique. When I say this is a unique perspective on the whole love triangle theme it IS!

What I liked was the interesting twist that was Bond/Red/Jacqs. The author formed a character with Jacqs that was given a little more of a story background wise. We got her and her Mom worrying about her Sister and niece. So overall it was a group of friends that were given a starting foundation here so I hope it means more of a series with some of the characters taking the leading role.

For the Jacqs character, I liked her because she was torn between two men. She totally loved both of them. The author brings out her attraction to Bond while she is with him, when he is gone, she is hot and heavy for Red. So it keeps you thinking about them. What could things be like if they were together. When I say is together I mean all three.

I can see Lane/Lainie getting a story her own as well as Samantha. There is a lot to explore.

If you want something that is naughty but with a NEW twist then grab this one. I know for a fact that the concept, like this authors other books is very unique. I know after book 2 comes out there are going to be a few copy cat spin off types but this is original!

Blakely Bennett grew up in Southeast Florida and has been residing in the great Northwest for over eight years. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a degree in psychology, which accounts for her particular interest in crafting the personalities, struggles, and motivations of her characters. She is an avid reader of many genres of fiction, but especially erotica and romance. Writing has always been her bliss. She is attracted to stories of self-struggle and ultimate recovery.

Blakely is married to a wonderful, loving and supportive husband, also a writer, who helps to keep her grounded. She is a mother, a communitarian, a lover of music (always on while she is writing—thank you, Pandora), and a good friend. An advocate of love and female empowerment, she is a facilitator for a women’s group. She loves to walk and hike for exercise and finds that, since moving to Seattle, WA, she is now one of those “crazy” people who walk in the rain.

Bittersweet Deceit (erotic romance) is her 6th novel. She is also the author of the dark erotic suspense, My Body Trilogy (My Body-His, My Body-His (Marcello) & My Body-Mine) and co-authored the contemporary romance, The Demarcation of Jack with her husband, Dana Bennett.

WOW this book was cute, funny, somewhat scary and romantic. The character of Grey Kelleher has always had a crush on her favorite shortstop for the NY Kings, Chase Whitfield. Not only Grey but her sister Erin and her parents. So the All-Star player gets a ligament torn and winds up in Stockton, PA for a short stint in the minor leagues. When Erin gets wind she tells Grey and they are at the game. In the meantime the character of Grey is being set up. Her sister is a loose cannon since her divorce, I find her very amusing, Grey is trying to enjoy the game and keep her in check. Grey has a dream, she wants a glimpse of her player, a good game and she is in harmony. It goes oddly off balance from here on.

So Chase is going to do his time, keep his therapy and knee from injury and be playing for the Kings again. Chase has some dialogue that I need to point out. He decided that the girls are no longer amusing so, maybe he wants to look for “the one”. When he sees Grey the lights, bells and whistles go off.

They get to meet …READ this book! It has a family story that will make you smile, one that will make you cry and show loyalty beyond words. There are a few things that happen in this small town in Pennsylvania that, when the reveal comes up, you will shake your head. I was like WOW things like that go on there…hhhmmm. interestingly scary. I totally loved this book. Now here is a quote to give you some of the humor I hope others will catch:

location 1236

To her, I’m not Chase Whitfield, Im just some guy, pestering the heck out of her. Even if what I’m really trying to do is get her to flirt with me.

“I fondle men’s underwear all day long. Is that specific enough for you?”

“Very. Think you can hook me up with some? I should really stock up while Im here since I never have time to shop”

“Im not kidding I could use your professional advice. What do you think? Am I a boxers or a briefs kind of guy?”

“Well since I read your interview in GQ, I already know the answer to that.”

“And?”

“You prefer more of a combination style”

You cant help but smile at her she is so becoming the encyclopedia of Chase I find it so endearing. I say read it now and if you by chance like baseball (I dont) it will be a bonus. Note to author: I love basketball, so keep it in mind for the next book. Some nice hot sweaty JJ Reddick for me please

Collette West grew up as somewhat of a jock-nerd hybrid. Entering the world three weeks premature, her dad nearly missed her birth because he had seats behind the dugout for a sold-out, highly-anticipated match-up between two of baseball’s biggest rivals. Not to be outdone, her book-loving mom taught her how to read by the time she was three. A love of the game coupled with an appreciation for the written word were instilled in Collette’s impressionable brain from a young age. No wonder her characters believe in the philosophy: sports + romance = a little slice of heaven.

Splitting her time between the Pocono Mountains and Manhattan, Collette indulges her inner fangirl by going to as many games as she can from hockey to baseball and downloading every sports romance novel in existence onto her iPad. When she’s not clicking away on her laptop, she enjoys walking her dog in Central Park, satisfying her caffeine craving at the Starbucks on Broadway and keeping an eye out for Mr. Right. But above all, she loves dishing with her readers. Email her at collette_west@yahoo.com.

Without Hesitation (Without #3) by CJ Azevedo @AzevedoCJ @HeavenSentProm0 #Review

Since she was 11 Macie James was iun love with Greyden. I loved the other books in this series! This was a book with the highest level of angst. Macie and Grey should have been together but they had secrets. Secretly they fight the desire to be together and the desire to tell everyone they are together. For Grey it seemed like his character was asking Macie for her innocence and loyalty, while he could sort of run around.

Being next door neighbors with Greydon’s family only makes matters worse. So these two characters make a pact to save Macie and her virtue until she is 18. For spoiler reasons I will say he gives her a reason. I liked the story and the characters but I was not a fan of the alternating chapter timelines. I hate them actually and when you get into the 14 year old Macie and the next chapter is the 23 year old Macy it really retracts from the flow, but it is my opinion.

So the question is why do they keep their love for one another a secret from his parents and her brother, who is Grey’s best friend? It has to be read.

Another like for me was Mitch. He was her boyfriend and on the short term actually, they sort of rushed things and I think in her mind she wanted the fairy tale and would have been willing to sacrifice true, real honest love for that. He was a future politician and I loved the way the author wrote him. He was arrogant, self centered and so driven in his career. I would say he was the one you love to hate. So I loved to hate on Mitch.

Tug (Irreparable #3) by K.J. Bell @authorkjbell #Review

Review image 12
If you have not read Irreparably Broken (Book 1) or Irreversible Damage (book 2) then you  have not only missed out on two great novels but Tug will not be nearly as good. I loved the first two book in this series. They are continual stories, so unless you understand the Aiden (aka Tug) character’s past, this wont make as much sense.

Tug has always loved Tori, teased Tori and been like a brother to her. He is complicated in that his family, which is from books 1 and 2, have started him on his road to being a little bit of a bed hopping slut. So if you know Tug then you get where he is coming from. Yes he hops from girl to girl but the reason is he has not found anyone who compares to his sister and Tori. So Tug is a complex character just as much as his family. The aftermath of his mother’s secrets and suicide have effected him in a bad way. The author does this character so much justice in writing him the way she did. She created a business man, who has taken over for his brother/cousin and he does his job well. Only problems keep piling up for him. No it isnt good for a billion dollar company that is publicly traded to have a CEO who is on the Hollywood scene.

So Tug has to hit rock bottom or get a slap in the face.

snap out of it tumblr_mq30juyobS1sar3c7o1_400

This was a fantastic book! I loved the growth relating to Tug. He has matured and is semi-reckless. That sounds sort of bad, but he is sort of bad. Deliciously bad!

There is so much more in this novel for Brady, Tori and Liv. For Tori, well she has exceeded my dreams. For one her character is great and she is the most loving and forgiving. I appreciated that her story was one where you hold your breath a few times and then smile. A huge reveal for Harrison and maybe some love for Tug???hhhmm MUST READ

I gasp as our tongues massage together, deeply. Our mouths move faster, and the passion surges. Palming his backside, I draw him closer, his hard-on pressing on my abdomen. Brent advances toward me until I’m flush with the cool tiles covered in droplets of water. His hands find mine and lift them above my head, threading our fingers together, as he continues to assail my mouth with his. Instinctually, my hips tilt upward—seeking him, wanting him, ready for him—while our slippery bodies slide in unison.

Releasing one hand, Brent trails his digits down the front of my body. He plunges his fingers between my legs and into me. His thumb skillfully circles one of the most sensitive parts of my body, causing my breath to catch. Endless slow moans erupt from the center of my voice over and over while the water showers us in a steady lullaby.

“You like that?” Brent purrs against my mouth. “When I touch you like this?” He circles his thumb faster to accentuate his point.

“Yes,” I stutter as he continues to torment me with his touch. “I love it.”

“Tell me again,” he demands.

“I fucking love it.”

He kisses me harder, more forceful, in a similar rhythm to his hand. Letting go of our joined grip above my head, he kneads my breast, consuming more of me. I hang on to his shoulders for dear life as the euphoric sensation builds with every movement across the raw nerves on my body. Brent pinches my nipple between his thumb and forefinger. I clamp down hard and let go, releasing guttural moans across his lips. Pulsing around his fingers, I lose my ability to hold my own weight.

My breaths slow, and I open my eyes. I find his dilated, full of lust and hungry in so many ways.

Renee Ericson is the author of the These Days series.

Originally from the Midwest, she now resides in a small town just outside of Boston with her husband and three children.

Most winters, Renee can be found on the slopes of the White Mountains skiing with her family. During the summer months, she likes to spend every spare minute at the beach soaking up the sea air. All those moments in between, she is talking to imaginary characters and caring for her children.

Destructive Release by LU Ann @authorluann #Review #GIVEAWAY

Destructive Release is the third and final book in A Destructive Novel Series and picks up where Destructive Choices left off. Keep in mind it is based on a true story. So therefore, the plot and actions/reactions ARE real and genuine.

In continuation of this story, Lacey is trying to deal with the loss of Devon. The last book left things off in a bad way. A plane, a crash, no bodies WTF How did I deal with waiting this long to find out? I dont know it wasn’t easy I filled myself with reading other books until this came out. So Do I say it or not? OK I will he was not dead. There would be hell to pay if he was!

The book takes a different approach from the moment Devon is discovered. The entire issue with Lacey and her past comes and manifest itself in her conscious mind. She goes overly cautious, which is to be expected. I love the wasy the author tells the mental illness tale. I hate using the word illness, cause it isn’t really an illness or is it? I think she attempts wholeheartedly to dissuade the stigma. What is wrong with people thinking that OCD, Anxiety, Depression and Bi-Polar disorder are bad? Do you know how many people take medication to sleep? To get over anxiety and panic disorders?   One in every 4 or about 121 million Americans. So that is in case anyone needs a number.

Lacey and Devon have together dealt with a lot and the next few battles in this book center around more than one serious mental health issue. It is enlightening and hard to read at times, because for anyone knowing a loved one affected, it is all too real. The choices Lacey makes for herself and sometimes her family have a greater effect than she knows.

This is a great book and I am thrilled to have been able to enjoy the first two. A definite must read!

*Warning* Not appropriate for audiences 17 years of age and under.

The Destructive Series

She lives in Colorado with her husband and two children. Moving from the lush landscapes of Maryland’s Eastern Shore to the high desert plains of Colorado was a drastic change. She and her family moved to their own “Little House on the Prairie” at an elevation of over 6,000 feet above sea level, and a semi-arid climate that makes it hard to grow anything. While barely anything can grow where she resides now, the wildlife makes up for it. Mountain Lions, and coyotes, and rattlesnakes, oh my!
She tries to spend a little time each day writing, but domestic chores around the house usually take precedence. She would much rather hide them from her husband. She tends to her loving four-legged children who at times become much too demanding when she locks herself in the office. This often results in MORE domestic work, and she finds herself cleaning up after their deviant behavior.
She has always been an artist painting as a hobby to back drops in theatrical set designs. Graphic design is her guilty pleasure.
A Destructive Novel is a series of three books based on her life. They deal with heavy life issues and will have the reader begging for a happily ever after.

Meet Virginia (A Southern Series (Book 1) by Angela March @AngelaMarch3 #Review

review Image14 polaI really liked this debut; the solid plot, the characters and the family. For Virginia, her family is the root of all evil in her world. It seemed like I was wanting to know more and the bits of the past were given out in little crumbs. I always appreciate a long book and this had some meat to it. When Virginia leaves the city for her small town it is under the premise to help her family business. Structure wise there was a little edit needed for this. It seemed like she had plans but nobody knew what they were. All this poor girl got was opposition from all angles. She left her ex live in boyfriend Eli behind. There is a history there but it isnt too clear until about 70% but Eli was mediocre in the bedroom. Why was she with him? I dont know. So no spoilers but I never found out why she was with him. Ten years is a long time for that.
smiles question mark
In an all to familiar scenario, meeting Eli cause he is a contractor, now planning the family Bar Costello’s expansion, she meets Boone.

For the character of Boone, he was just right. I enjoyed his dialogue and even though he was younger, he had excellent communication skills. I dont know many men at 24 years old that would handle their business, working and their personal life the way he did.

Virginia’s Mom Sophia, her brothers Tony and Jimmy were all equally lacking in the communication department. All combined were the reason for Virginia to pop xanax and drink way too much Jack Daniels. I myself never have and yet while reading I longed to see what her fascination was with the amber colored liquor. No I never found out either.

smiles cocktails

Things were left off in a sort of cliffhanger, which I am not a fan of. Book 2 better come soon. If not for those kindle readers search the book for Boone scenes they are some of the juiciest I have read. Enjoy

Meet Virginia (A Southern Series (Book 1) by Angela March @AngelaMarch3 #Spotlight

Virginia Costello wanted nothing more than to take a break from her life, a much-needed re-evaluation of who she is. Virginia makes plans to get away from all things that aren’t the healthiest, hard partying, her ex, she can’t seem to break free of or learn how to effectively use the word no on. Along with the overly needy so-called friends, her life has caught up with her.

Unhealthy choices, bad decisions, and emotional uncertainty makes her life almost unrecognizable, even to herself right now.

We all have cracks in our foundation; some of those cracks run deeper, and leave scars that are more evident. If she can come to terms with herself and her past, she can stop fleeing from uncontrollable situations and repair the broken parts of herself. And most importantly, fix those cracks that keep tripping her up.

While Virginia is on her life break visiting her family on Coffee Lake, she unexpectedly encounters a delicious distraction named, Jeremiah James Boonesfield, aka Boone. It is everything Virginia can do to keep her thoughts and attention on fixing herself and not on Boone, as he takes on the job of renovating Costello’s Bar.

Boone is a simple guy, and has never experienced anything or anyone quite like Virginia Costello, fiercely independent, tough exterior, sensual and is quite possibly the most amazing women he has ever met in his life. Now if he can persuade Virginia simple can be exactly what she is seeking, that will be the challenge.

We never know when love will walk into our lives… or when it will turn and walk right back out.

DONE and totally want to listen to country music. I think I maybe in love Lilly Rae and maybe acting out about that. I will go for some Carrie Underwood and then make up for it my listening to a lot of Drake and Lil Wayne.

About the book- ratings for 1

Characters- 5

Plot-5

The reveals that shocked me 5+

So the story of Lily reminds us that in Hollywood things are as crazy as they seem, right? OK well apparently in country music things are nutso too! When Lily takes off she is determined to get to Nashville from Iowa and never look back. She repeats her mantra over and over basically whatever it takes is what this feisty recent graduate is going to do. I am ready for the ride.

The story of Lillian’s time in Nashville was unbelievable. She meets an RCA executive, Colton, and he seems like an angel. Under it all he is so evil, manipulative and powerful. He is just pure evil through and through. I loved the way the author wrote Lily having her flashbacks. It was a slow build that was making it hard to put the darn kindle down.

Through everything Sarah,  who is a wanna be country music singer, and Lily grow close. Lily starts on the staircase leading to fame with Sarah by her side. Sarah is her confidant, personal assistant and therapist!

When Lily has an epiphany she gives up singing and goes home. All of this causes a big problem for Colton. No spoilers but I will say he was addicted to having a puppet to control and money in the bank.

When Justin sees Lily the first time you know what will happen. Their story was great! It is one to be enjoyed! I understand they wanted and needed one another so the way it was portrayed was nice. The didnt go overboard with the longing to be together. I hope that makes sense.

I really loved this book! The author has written a romance with a lot of dark circumstances. I like dark so when evil comes knocking I was rooting for the entire Raftzen family. A true tight knit group that make you want to go to Glenview!
