I have to admit that when I read the blurb for Tumbleweed, I was NOT expecting it to be as dark. I love dark and this was NO exception. The author totally blows my mind with this one! The characters are wonderful but nothing compared to the plot. The story centers around one young photographer Hayley who I loved. She was free and very sexual. When her relationship with Mikel, a famous and wealthy Spanish soccer player goes wrong she goes a little crazy. Mikel was the catalyst for her change. It takes Hayley to exotic places. She encounters rich socialite Celine and her husband Jack Luck. I loved this part of the story!

HOT in here Blanche tumblr_m6eem8nNsk1qkuabbo1_400

After leaving Hayley goes to Egypt. She feels safe and has two tour guides both named Mohammed. She comes up with nic names by splitting their names up. Mohammed’s girlfriend is Nubiti, she comes back in a way I was not at all expecting.

wowwww

Hayley learns so much about their culture, scenery and photographs many places. Where Hayley goes wrong is, in MY opinion, when she decides that the sexually repressed should be corrupted. Hayley sets out almost immediately to lure the boys into having sex. YES it was hot!

condoms tumblr_ll39ahfJh41qiy7sxo1_500

She planned this and has a camera bad loaded with them!

All the while the political corruption, Mubarak and some awful people start the darkness. Baba is Mohammed’s father and he hold Hayley and abuses her. It is dark, nasty, raw and unbelievable to read. So much more than I was expecting!

From the author of the erotic romance series “The Vitamin D Treatment” and “Side Effects, The Vitamin D Treatment Finale”, Julia Bramer turns the erotic romance genre upside down in “Tumbleweed”. Tapping into readers’ primal fears and incorporating reverse gender stereotypes and recent historical events in an intelligent way, she weaves a complex tale of love, heart-racing romance and sex.

Julia is the former Executive Director of a charitable foundation in Colorado and has traveled the world with her husband seeking an understanding of different cultures and gathering stories. Her novels incorporate many of the places she’s visited and people she’s met along the way.

The Charm Necklace by Lauren Rosolino @laurenrosolino #Review

A very solid debut. There is a lot of character in the plot, the sadness did seem to dominate the beginning. So glad that Skylar was the star and narrator. She was with Michael for 6 years and they were to be married in June. Michael was a good guy. Rob and Sue, Michael’s parents, made a decision that caused me a lot of angst. I really liked how Sophie, who was Michael’s sister was close with Skylar. The relationships and family were pretty strong, which made you really want to take the pain away. It was a trying time and the author took me through the grief she felt. Her job as an admin in the police department was sort of cool too. I liked how her relationships there changed becuase of her grief. Overall a really good read.

For the not so good, in my opinion, the cover. I am not one to point things out but …there is a but I have seen so many authors make this mistake and then re-work a cover. To me it doesnt scream emotional romance. While the girl on the cover is ok, she doesnt seem even old enough to be Skylar. Like a lot of other bloggers will say that yes people do judge a book by a cover and this is a failing grade. People will find it hard to get past the cover to the really hearty and emotional book that this is.

I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit reading Harry Potter, watching Gilmore Girls, listening (and dancing) to a lot of music, and wondering why people do the things they do.

Vanquish by S.J. McGran @SJMcGran #Review #debut

I feel blessed to have found another fabulously written debut novel. This was just freakin great! I loved the characters so much but the writing was better. There were a few great treats like Zhoe and Jared the main characters. Zhoe is a grounded, smart and loving girl who goes to school and volunteers. What more could you want from a well off girl? OH the fact that she is well off but doesnt act like it. She drinks dark beer and eats famous “Lonestar burgers” I found her easy and relate able.
As for her best friend Angelica, she is the same way. They are great best friends and have a really good friendship. Right about the 30% mark I loved how the author paired these girls. They are not opposites, but share a lot of the fundamentals that balance a great friendship. There is A LOT of steam here. Very good and very well placed steam. I liked it and it was just the right amount, the right degree, and at the right times.

As for the men, well I loved Jared. His name alone makes we swoon. Jared is a construction worker and has a secret. The secret is BAD, YUP its BAD. The suspense waiting is about to reach maximum when the author dropped the bomb. Yes it was great.

Rico is Richard, so I loved the nic name there too. He is Jared’s best friend and they share a common bond, cant say what binds them but it is a great plot device.

Quotes I loved:

I know I don’t love her yet, but there is no doubt that I could love this girl. I could fall head over heels for her. I could love her with every ounce of my shattered soul if I’m not careful

JARED = SWOON

“I let my girl sleep somewhere other than my arms last night.”

S.J. McGran is a new author with a penchant for writing, reading and reviewing romance novels.

She lives in Toledo, Ohio with her husband, cat and lots of siblings. She is a die hard Detroit Tigers fan, and has a love for ice cream and pizza. Vanquish is the debut novel by S.J. McGran and is now available.

In order if you have not read Looking for LaLa please GRAB it here Cathy is the funny and zany character from LaLa. When she starts working of course there is not love fest there. I mean every office has a psycho, a loser, a slut and a nut job right? I guess only mine then. Follow Cathy in the den of the beast! There are characters from LaLa, like Hugh, Sophie and Rosa. I will say that In the office you will laugh a lot. There are so many humorous quips. I felt I was relating more to Cathy here because at times she was VERY unappreciated. I think any mother who has to work and juggles feels like she is unappreciated. That is how I felt at times myself. I wanted to pinch Declan at times and hug him at others.

Follow Cathy through her zany and somewhat I Love Lucy type scenarios. She tries to find out who is burglarizing homes in her neighborhood. It is a cozy type mystery. People who are fans of Pamela Fagan Hutchins will love this series and these great authors.

I will say Cathy is lovable, enjoyable to read, and the book is light and oh so easy to love.

Chasing Me (Shaft on Tour Book 3) by Cat Mason @BTSPromosPR @cat_mason_2014 #review

  chasing me 81lrQEcCZPL._SL1500_
review Image1

“Temptations, betrayal, and lies are all mixed with booze, tattoos, sex, laughs, and love as the Shaft takes stage after stage.”

“Everyone has a story my pages are just a lot darker than most.”

“Lies and betrayal mix with banter, sex and bacon as Shaft prepares to release their new album and blow into the mainstream.’

If you have no read book one and two then YOU MUST STOP go grab them and enjoy! If you read books 1 and 2 then you know they are completed stories. So in other words the author wrote book one for Gray and Daisy and then was Aiden and Camaron. So it is a treat to have NO drama with cliffhangers. Just a simple bacon loving guy.

NOW here in his own book, the one I really adore, Hunter. Oh my oh my… since book 1 I have been drooling over him. Not only is he cute, funny and BAD, but he is lovable and adorable. So being my favorite I have to scream his praises.  I wanted him with Chase because she was his ideal.. So now it is Hunter’s staring role. There is a great treat in store for you all. A paternity issue, a love life, a dream and a family. All of which Hunter, my man is so deserving of.

Just imagine a bunch of little Hunter babies who are yelling bacon all over the house. I would love it. Well I’m too old but if I was younger Id take a chance on my cholesterol levels and ride the hog for Hunter.

Now let me say this series is a wonderful addition if you enjoy glamour and rock style. I would say if you were a Sinner fan then this is another series you will totally fall in love with. There is a lot of steam, but nothing too racy. That is why I love this author, she wrote a romance for some unbelievable rock stars.

I love romance books of all shapes, sizes and genres, so much that I was inspired to write. I’ve always loved to write, little poems here and there. Maybe a short story or two but I was always to scared to show my writing; critics can be tough. Well I finally put my big girl panties on and self published. I think there is nothing harder in the world than to create something and put it out for others to build up or tear down.

My writing is based off what I like. I would never publish a book I wouldn’t read or enjoy myself. I am a very quirky unique person, there is not enough room for me to get into all my personalities. Yes I said ties not ty, I have lived in six different states and too many cities, towns and villages to name. Partially because my mom never liked to settle and because my soon to be ex-husband was a Marine. He was deployed twice, Iraq in 2003 when it all went down and Afghanistan a year later. I don’t think I slept the whole time he was gone. I have four wonderful spoiled brats. My oldest nearly 15 and my youngest just 5. I am of a mixed heritage. My mother was born and raised in Mexico and my father is second generation born in the US from Sicily.

My extended family is a little more than 120 people; at least that was how many was at the reunion a few years ago. So yes being Italian/Mexican and coming from a big family where you have to talk over everyone else to be heard; I have an extremely loud mouth and love big families. I am religious but tend to stay clear of that topic, religion and politics are two subjects where people are too easily offended. I’m a big talker and end to babble. I love talking to everyone and anyone about books so hit me up anytime.

Nordic Lessons by Christine Edwards @ceerotica #Excerpt @BookieNookie

Nordic Lessons by Christine Edwards

Description:
Elora is a cultivated Londoner visiting her brother in Oslo, Norway. With her brother away on business, she decides to do without his permission and borrow his classic Jaguar to take in the sights. But when she pulls over to the side of the road to take pictures, the car won’t start up again. In a blind panic, Elora has nowhere to turn, until a warrior of a man stops to help her. A massive, handsome hunk of a man, clad head to toe in black leather.

Elora has never encountered anyone like Mikkel. As much as he frightens her, she realizes she is out of options. Then comes the exhilarating journey home on his custom ride, and Elora falls hard for her knight in leather armor, an alpha male eager to teach her the rules of Dom/sub relationships. Mikkel is head of his motorcycle club, and in the days that follow, Elora becomes increasingly entangled in the culture of bondage, bikes, and club rivalries. But how can Elora fully commit to a man whose world might as well exist on another planet?

  Soul Seduction

Excerpt:A surprised gush of breath leaves my lungs as his hands grasp each of my bare, chilled thighs to give a possessive squeeze before he dismounts.

“Enjoy the ride?”

I dismount with his assistance, quickly remove the elastic and sift my fingers through my braid, setting my red hair free once again. With my heart still pounding fiercely like a Japanese Taiko drum, I tell him—and I know I’m gushing—“Yes, there’s such a sense of power being on your motorcycle. Although I have to admit, I’m relieved that you’re the one driving. It seems like it would be far too much power for me to handle between my legs.”

Oh no, oh shit!

I watch his expression change the second the unintended double entendre leaves my lips. His eyes are smoldering, his breathing is more rapid. A perfect mask of male lust stares down at me. He’s absolutely stunning. His huge, hot palm reaches forward to glide through my hair, firmly cupping the back of my bare neck. He leans down several inches, closing any distance between us.

In a thick whisper, he says very slowly, “Oh, I have no doubt you can handle all that power perfectly, Elora.”

Muffled, thumping sounds of rock music engulf us as we become lost in each other’s eyes.

The heady moment is broken when he suddenly lets his eyes slide shut, drags in a deep breath, and changes the subject. “You’re proving to be the ultimate distraction, min skjønne. And I’m not easily influenced. We need to move now, we’re already over an hour late.”

Without another word, he grabs hold of my hand and turns to climb the steep flight of wooden steps. I glance out over the parking lot. Not a space to be had. There must be over a hundred people here.

He stops before the solid black door and turns to face me, his warm fingers threading confidently through mine. “I’m tending bar tonight, Elora, but I’m gonna place you right in my line of sight and introduce you to some quality friends. That work for you babe?”

“That’s fine, Mikkel.”

He lowers his body down farther to whisper against my parted lips, “My girl’s so fucking sweet.”

His girl? Yes, I absolutely adore that.

Will Red and Jacqs budding relationship pull apart their tight-knit group of friends and will Jacqs survive being Stuck In Between.

So this is original in the whole love triangle theme. I think it is poly-amory disguised as a love triangle. People who are living that poly amorous lifestyle do actually love more than one person. I have read other books by this author and I will say that while sometimes the cover and title seems like it will be good, she finds a way to make it totally unique. When I say this is a unique perspective on the whole love triangle theme it IS!

What I liked was the interesting twist that was Bond/Red/Jacqs. The author formed a character with Jacqs that was given a little more of a story background wise. We got her and her Mom worrying about her Sister and niece. So overall it was a group of friends that were given a starting foundation here so I hope it means more of a series with some of the characters taking the leading role.

For the Jacqs character, I liked her because she was torn between two men. She totally loved both of them. The author brings out her attraction to Bond while she is with him, when he is gone, she is hot and heavy for Red. So it keeps you thinking about them. What could things be like if they were together. When I say is together I mean all three.

I can see Lane/Lainie getting a story her own as well as Samantha. There is a lot to explore.

If you want something that is naughty but with a NEW twist then grab this one. I know for a fact that the concept, like this authors other books is very unique. I know after book 2 comes out there are going to be a few copy cat spin off types but this is original!

Rise to Power by Uvi Poznansky @UviPoznansky #Review

rise to power 19302936

Uvi Poznansky gets five big stars from me.  I will do my best to explain and try to do justice to this marvelous book. You know David, the Biblical King David? Well if you dont you have to read this. Uvi’s book reads like a piece of art. I think it is like taking the history that was written about David and creating a story resembling “A Real Hollywood Story” or “This is Your Life”

David explains his life and the creation of the legend that is David. So there are reveals, confessions and decisions leading to David himself just trying to survive.

Most people dont know David as young person formulating a plot and creating his ambitious life. David was not only a poet and writer but he was a musician.

, this time for her marvelous portrayal of the Biblical King David. Her David, although fictional, is not the perfect figure sculpted by Michelangelo. Nor is he strictly the David of the Bible. With his human failings, the David she has created is a bit of a departure from the legend.

I would say the book is also a modern tale. The way it is written in terminology that doesnt need a dictionary or interpreter. The author also adds to the story how women just adored David. He was pursued by many. In this time, David, had many wives as was the lifestyle.

As far as David’s alleged affairs, I was wondering how he kept up. He had twenty children with as many as weight wives. Shocking to me, by the way.

If you love history as a base with a modern flair PLEASE read this. I found it an excellent impression of all the is David. I’m really looking forward to the sequel.

Uvi Poznansky is a California-based author, poet and artist.

She earned her B. A. in Architecture and Town Planning from the Technion in Haifa, Israel. During her studies and in the years immediately following her graduation, she practiced with an innovative Architectural firm, taking a major part in the large-scale project, ‘Home for the Soldier’; a controversial design that sparked fierce public debate.

At the age of 25 Uvi moved to Troy, N.Y. with her husband and two children. Before long, she received a Fellowship grant and a Teaching Assistantship from the Architecture department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where she guided teams in a variety of design projects; and where she earned her M.A. in Architecture. Then, taking a sharp turn in her education, she earned her M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan.

During the years she spent in advancing her career–first as an architect, and later as a software engineer, software team leader, software manager and a software consultant (with an emphasis on user interface for medical instruments devices)–she wrote and painted constantly, and exhibited in Israel and California. In addition, she taught art appreciation classes. Her versatile body of work can be seen online at uviart.com. It includes bronze and ceramic sculptures, oil and watercolor paintings, charcoal, pen and pencil drawings, and mixed media.

Uvi published two children books, Jess and Wiggle and Now I Am Paper. For each one of these books, she created an animation video (see Author Videos at the bottom of this page.) She won great acclaim for her novel, Apart From Love, and for her poetry book, Home (in tribute to her father. Her collection of dark tales, Twisted, and her Historical Fiction book, A Favorite Son, are both new age, biblically inspired books. Rise to Power (the first volume in her new series, The David Chronicles) has just been published.
